Coffee Christmas

Those who belong to the Artsystamper Addiction FB page often get freebies and the background I used for this card is one of the freebies called Post Card Receipt Rings pattern paper. I  paired it with a coffee mug design from another Artstystamper digital set called Coffee And (more) and then grabbed the poinsettia from the Artsystamper Poinsettia Pair stamp set too. I did my arrangement on my Open Office program and then printed it out. I decided this would be a slimline card. After I cut it to the size I wanted I then layered it onto green and then to a white card base to finish it. With the large  piece of  pattern paper I was able to make another card using the same elements.

I thought about adding a sentiment on the post card but in the end decided to just leave it and only add a sentiment inside instead. I have gotten into making the slimline cards lately and I think mine might be a bit bigger then most people make theirs but these fit into a business size envelope easily.
I guess I never heard what the proper measurements were supposed to be.

I just placed an order to Paper Cuts though for some already cut cards in the slimline design as well as some layering papers and envelopes. I thought this might save me from cutting up so much card stock to make just one card. I will see if I like them or not after they arrive.

On a personal note I just found out that my oldest grandson Tom who is going to college has come down with the Covid-19. He had a fever last night over 101 degrees. He is resting and taking Tylenol and drinking lots of fluids. Apparently someone in the Frat house where he lives had it and infected others. So if you would please say a prayer for him and all the others who got sick it would be much appreciated.

I have been having lots of arthritis issues lately too so I am not getting much card making done. It is all I can do to make meals, wash dishes by hand and do laundry. Then in between time I have garden  produce to take care of and I try to rest a bit too. It sure slows me down. LOL So I may be missing with blog posts a bit more now too until I feel better. Our weather has been so crazy lately with high humidity, hot weather and storms. Now it has gone to a cooling trend and it seems with each weather change I feel it in my bones. But such is life I guess.

I hope this finds all of you well and thanks for the visits.

Slimline Anniversary

I have several Fall wedding anniversaries in our family so because of that I decided to make a slimline anniversary card using a stencil from Artplorations called Peeking Sunflowers. I just love this stencil and am so glad I bought it. I ordered mine in the heavier form so that it would withstand more harsh use. And, it is just perfect.

I added the Happy Anniversary die cut sentiment from Tonic Studios and also stamped a couple bees which were in a set I won from a Stamps of Life set called Jars 2. With a Bic pen I added some dots to the center of the sunflowers and I thought it sort of dressed it up a bit more. The inks I used were from Gina K. Designs and I used blending brushes to add the colors through the stencil.

I am entering this in the following:
Double D's Challenge-Sunflowers
Stamplorations Never Ending Challenge-Anything Goes

I just love working with stencils and I hope you like the project I did with this beautiful one. Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Joy Nativity

Today I am showing you the card I made for the August Rudolph Days Challenge. In fact, I made several of these until I ran out of the metallic bling that I used on them. The die is a Cottage Cutz Elite Die called Joy Nativity.  I got it in the clearance section and I love this die. It makes such pretty Christmas cards I think. I also used some metallic gold card stock from Gina K. Designs on my card along with a white card base. The die design was cut from white card stock as well.

I hope you can see that the card stock has some shimmer to it. It really looks much better in real life but this was the best photo I could get of it.

I hope all are well and having a good week. Take care everyone and thanks for visiting.

A Bit Snarky!

I recently was checking out the images at Technique Junkies and saw this sentiment stamp called Kick Ass Shoes and just knew it would work out well for many of my lady friends who are having health issues. This card in particular is being made for a gal who had two surgeries in two months and now is battling infections.

I wanted to use the shoes by themselves so I cut them away from the sentiment....yes, sometimes I do surgery on my stamps. I then used the shoes to create a colorful background of lots of shoes so that it would be a perfect for my main focal image. But I screwed up when I put the shoes back into the sentiment. I put them in the wrong direction  but I figured it still wasn't too awful so I left them that way. I decorated the shoes up to make them look a bit more fancy with the addition of a single rhinestone to each one. Since I stamped the sentiment on sand card stock I thought it would look better if trimmed with some black before placing it on the kraft card base. I also added some  black glitter drops to the sentiment panel. Inside I also used the sand but added a bit of  black to trim that along the top and bottom as well.

I hope this card does not offend anyone. My feeling behind it is that it will bring a smile and maybe even a chuckle to my friend. I hope so. I don't want her to give  up! And, of course, she is in my prayers.

Take care everyone and have a great weekend. I so appreciate your visits and comments.

Sunflower Hugs

Today I printed out a digital from Power Poppy which was offered as a freebie and then colored it with my Prismacolor pencils and some Gamsol. I  printed the sunflower onto sand colored paper instead of white and I like how it looks after I did the coloring.

After I had the design colored I simply added some orange and yellow rhinestone gems to finish it off.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
Atrtsystampers Challenge #22-Fall Flowers
Double D Challenges-Sunflowers
Creative Confetti Challenge

Oh, and on the bean card I hand drew last post. I finally finished the inside by adding this sentiment:

And I'm
not stringing
you along!

Well, that is all for me today. I hope you week is going well.

Beans, Beans!

Well, the bean crop is going well this year and it is keeping me busy. I saw all those beans and got the bright idea to make a CAS card with some beans on it. Hey! I am no artist but how hard can it be to draw some beans, right? Well, it is not as easy as it looks but I did make a couple beans look passable. At any rate, I had some fun before diving into working on the beans. I hope it makes you chuckle a bit to see my feeble attempt too.

I drew the beans and then used Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol to color them. I have no idea who I will send a card like this to but maybe just will keep it as it reminder to me of a nice summer day when  the beans were abundant and how it was fun to create a card at the spur of the moment. Can't get much CAS then this. Hahaa!

I hope all are doing well. My week is filled with doctor appointments, a funeral, and church activities so this might be my only crafty design for the week. In the meantime, take care.

God bless,

White Space

The Gina K. Designs Monthly Mix Challenge is a Design Concept-White Space. So I decided to do a little bit of quick stamping and created this CAS note card design using the Gina K. Designs Bogo Flowers stamp set. I also used Gina K. Designs ink and white card stock.

With the aid of my Misti and some blending brushes I did a very simple design using the stamps from that set. Sometimes you just need a simple design and this one I thought would work for either a man or a woman.

Well, I have been busy so not a lot of time has been spent crafting. I did however manage to spend some money. LOL Now to find time to work with the new things. Most of them are digital designs so they will be ready and waiting for me anytime I can work with them. I hope this finds all of you doing well too. Thanks for the visits.

Take care and God bless,
Verna

CAS Sympathy Card

I made a quick sympathy card today using the stamp and sentiment from the Altenew Watercolor Halftone stamp set. I also added some Altenew washi tape called Navy Gold Trim washi tape. The floral arrangement was stamped with Gina K. Designs Navy ink. I also layered the focal panel onto some gold mirror card stock from Crafter's Companion. After adding it to a white card base I had my card completed.

I think this will be a masculine design for a sympathy card with the colors I used on it. The gold is just enough bling to make it look elegant.

Well, we got our internet system going and I am happy to say it is working great. Anytime I wanted to check something out on the internet it was always working. So I hope it continues to do that. We even had some rain and it worked right through the shower.

Otherwise I have been busy doing garden things. The green beans are keeping me busy and tomorrow I will be freezing more  beans. So far I have 15 pints but tomorrow should bring it easily up to 20 or more.

Well, I hope all had a wonderful weekend. Take care and thanks for the great comments always.

God bless,
Verna

Make It "Pop"!

I combined several challenges together to make this card so I hope I pulled it off. But the main thing to me is that I "like" it so that is a good thing indeed! Hahaa!

The rose and the sentiment are from  Power Poppy digitals.  The pattern papers are from Gina K. Designs. And the images were colored in with Arteza Real Brush Pens. The gingham  paper was not quite the right color of yellow to match my rose so I also added some of the Arteza color to that as well. Also the butterfly was from that gingham paper but I simply stamped over it with Gina K. Design Obsidian Black Amalgam ink.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
Power Poppy Creative Confetti: "Pop" goes the flower
Double D Challenge-Butterflies
Mod Squad Challenge- Pattern Paper Trio

Thanks for the visit. I love to read your comments. Take care too!

Wild Flower Blossoms

I recently learned that my great niece Jodi has stage 4 pancreatic cancer and so after I  had purchased the Wild Flower Blossoms digital set from Jan's Digitals I thought the sentiments in the set were perfect ones for her as she is going through this fight for her life! And the wild flower blossoms came pre-colored so I used them for this card. I made it a slimline design.

I added some dirt and some sky with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. Then I layered it onto some dark pink card stock before adding it to the white card base. The final item added on the outside was some  pink rhinestones in each corner.

I carried the theme of the card over into the inside as well as you can see by the photo below.

Well, it seems overnight the way to write in my blog has changed and I am finding it frustrating to figure out how to do things again. I hate change! Hahaa!

Take care everyone and have a great day!

Begonia Birthday

Here is a card I made using digitals again from Artsystamper  Digitals. I am always needing birthday cards so I chose to use the Artstystamper Jellies Papers set and the Begonia from the Artstystamper Fall Flowers set to create my card. I also used a sentiment from the newly released Artsystamper sentiment set. I even went and Googled begonias so that I could color the flower according to some in those photos and there was one that was pink and  yellow which I knew would be the colors I would use.

I used  Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol for the coloring of the begonias. And, I decided that this jelly paper background went perfectly with it. I cut down the panel and then layered it to black card stock before applying it to the white card base.

I will be entering this in the Artsystamper Challenge #21: Sentiment-All. The internet was cooperating so it was a good time to  add some artwork to my blog as well. Who knows what tomorrow will bring.

Everyone take care and thanks for the visits. I sure hope this next Friday I will be more certain of internet working. I am trying to be patient. Hahaa!

God bless,
Verna
