Sending Thoughts and More

After a busy Labor Day weekend and a few days of catching up after we got back home Tuesday evening I finally got time to make a card. So I am once again getting inky! LOL This card will be entered in the Cheery Lynn Designs Blog Challenge for this week. The theme is All About Texture and I think I got some with the sunflower die I used and also with the embossing folder too.

My embossing folder is from Darice and is called Leafy Vine Border. I inked up the front side of the embossing folder with various Autumn colors of ink from Gina K. Designs. After I had run it through the Crossover Machine it left the raised areas white with the more ombre colors showing for the background.

My sunflower is from Cheery Lynn Designs as are the leaves I used. I used some Bic Mark-It alcohol ink pens to color the sunflower. Note the lovely texture for the inside of the flower.

Since I had this nice wide open area at the bottom I thought a larger sentiment would work so I used one from I Brake For Stamps. I got it a bit crooked and should have used my MISTI but I was in a hurry so did not. See what happens when one hurries? But I will use it just as it is regardless.

Cheery Lynn Dies used:
DL 121 Sunflower
B181 Build a Flower #1 (I only used the leaf strip)

On a more personal note: This past weekend we had the joyous event of our daughter's marriage to a wonderful young man. I will include a few pictures for you. It was a theme wedding and they chose it to be a Doctor Who theme.

First dance as a married couple.

Cutting the cake.

Father/Daughter Dance.

Finally some food. All were very hungry.

Some of the guests.

Our good looking grandchildren. I think they take after their Grandma. LOL

I am sorry I was not able to get more photos but with a leg all wrapped up it was hard for me to get around, so I just took photos where I was stationed.  The one with the grandchildren was taken the next day at the gift opening event. That phone booth was originally put outside by the venue and the guests had to walk through it and be transported to the wedding, dance and reception area.

The cake was a one layer one but the topper showed the bride and groom going into the phone booth to be transported away. Each of the groomsmen and the groom chose to dress in a different version of Doctor Who. And the fathers of the bride and groom each wore a theme tie with the phone booth images on them.

The colors were light purple and blue. The women attendants were dressed in the light purple. I chose a black dress pants, a purple shirt and a jacket with the purple and blue colors in it. The groom's Mom also wore black and purple.

Well, thanks for checking my post and for all the wonderful comments you leave.

God bless,
Verna
