Empty Nest Again, So I Stamp To Fill the Gap

Yes, my family was all under one roof these last few days and now that they are all gone again. It sure is quiet and lonely. But we had a wonderful time together playing games, watching TV, visiting and catching up with each other. I heard all made it to their homes too, or I think that they all did. My son and grandson had a two hour delay in their flight but they did reach Japan but missed the bullet train ride to go to their home, so they had to stay in a hotel until the next morning.

Anyway, to fill the time I have once again gotten the stamps out and created my first card in several weeks. I must say I did miss that hobby of mine. Hope I am not out of practice too much. LOL

For this card I used the polka dot pattern stamp from the Gina K. Designs Lots of Dots set by Beth Silaika and the flowers and sentiment from the Gina K. Designs Million Little Things duo set. My card stock was white and red hot card stock from Gina K. Designs. I colored the flowers with Bic Mark-It markers and fussy cut them out and popped them up. I finished by adding some rhinestones in the corner.

I am entering this in the Mix It Up Monday challenge at Stamp TV. We were challenged to use polka dots and one other color with black or gray. I used both the black and the gray in mine.

Also I might add that I was very remiss in commenting on other's blogs lately as I was just too busy. But I hope you will forgive me and I will try to do better from now on. Thanks for stopping in and looking at mine too.

God bless,
Verna

What a bright, cheerful card, Verna! I really like the design, and photographing it against a red background was perfect.
Glad you had a good visit with your family and happy that you are now able to get back to stamping.

Well, I would venture to say that you have NOT lost your touch. This card is as beautiful as always, and a great take on the STV challenge. I really like your colors and layout, and those flowers just pop. Love that you made the leaves gray, and those little red dots are just the final touch! Great card, as usual.

A great card to make after everyone is gone and you have the memories of another wonderful time with them. You have not lost your touch at all. And....please don't worry a it about not commenting on others cards. I think you are the queen when it comes to that, and the queen gets some time off occasionally! Lol

happiness is a beautiful card to match a beautiful friendship - it's gorgeous, Verna! I hope you are feeling much better, too. I understand that feeling that accompanies not creating for a few weeks. It always feels good to get going again. xo
