Moo Brew

The theme for the Mod Squad Challenge this time is Tea or Coffee so naturally I had to make a card for that. I chose to  use some new items I acquired with a gift certificate that I won at the Spring and Summer Coffee Lovers Hop. I am so glad I got these products that help to make coffee cards so much fun to do.

The coffee beans and plaid pattern papers are from the Coffee Paper Pack by Echo Park. And the stamps used for this card are from the Little Acres Creations set called Moo Brew. I sure love that cow sitting and drinking coffee.

Thanks for the visit and I hope your week is going well.

God bless,

May Rudolph Days

Hi everyone,
Just a quick post to show the card I have entered into the May Rudolph Days challenge. I love this challenge as it motivates me to make Christmas cards. And I am so thrilled as to how this design on my card looks too.

I did a no line technique that I have been wanting to try for quite some time. This is a solid image and I started out by stamping the design in with Memento London Fog (which is a gray) and then with my Bic or Copics proceeded to color in the image. I also used a bit of white colored pencil on the hat of the snowman.

Penny Black Stamps Used:
Bundled Up
Yuletide Wishes (sentiment)

Die used:
Maker's Movement Stitched Rectangle Stacker (formerly Cheery Lynn Designs)

Well, we will soon be leaving this morning for our oldest grandson's graduation from high school. So hard to believe he is that old and that he will be attending college this coming Fall. Time goes by so fast.

Thanks for stopping by and for your wonderful comments. Have a great Sunday.

God bless,
Verna

Birch Tree Holiday Card

I was beginning to think I had no Impression Obsession dies or stamps that would qualify for the current challenge but I lucked out when I remembered I had this one die set that included birds in it. So this is my entry for the Impression Obsession Challenge-Feathered Friends. With this die set I created a scene by doing some brush blending for a background. I hope you like it.

I took blending brushes and ink to create a sky and a snowy ground cover by using a torn paper mask. Then I took the birch die cuts which were cut from white card stock and then lightly brushed along the edge with some gray ink. After I had all the trees on my scene I then added the birds from the set that I had die cut from red glitter paper. I also stamped the sentiment and layered that to red glitter paper.

Impression Obsession Supplies Used:
DIE079-U Birch Trees
CL491 Life Stuff Sentiments

Other Supplies:
Gina K. Designs: Card Stock and Inks
Gina K. Designs: Connect Glue
Gina K. Designs: Glue Tape Runner

Favorite Summer Colors

I found a new challenge in which we are to use our favorite summer colors. This is the card I am entering into Laurie's Fabulous Favorites   My favorite colors for summer are pink, yellow and orange along with some light blue and light green. So with that in mind I used a stencil to create this card.

Supplies used:
Paper Trey Ink Mix & Mat Hearts Die
Maker's Movement Stitched Rectangles Nested Essentials Dies
Gina K. Designs Art Stencils Daisy Chain
Gina K. Design Rose Peonies (Sentiment)

I used Gina K. Designs inks to add color to my stencil design using the Life Changing Blending Brushes from Picket Fence Studio. Then I die cut the panel out and placed it onto the heart die frame that was cut from black card stock. The sentiment was stamped on front of the stencil design. Adding this layered panel to a Dusty Rose card base was my next step. I also added some of the same design inside the card.

I have several anniversaries coming up later in the summer so this will be a handy card to have in my supply stash. Thanks for visiting and for your sweet comments.

Tag Time

Just a little project rounded out my afternoon when I decided to make a tag for the Stamplorations Tagploration Challenge for May. The theme is all about Mom but since my Mom is deceased I just tried to make a feminine tag design with some pretty flowers and feminine colors on a blue tag background.

Supplies used:
Stamplorations Trendy Spring Blooms Stamp Set and Dies by Sherry Russ
Stamplorations Bloom Happy Stamp Set
Stamplorations CutPlorations Luggage Tags
Stamplorations Artplorations Stencil Make Marks 1 by Helen G. Designs

That was a fun little project and I enjoyed the creative process. Thanks for visiting and for commenting too.

Back to Christmas Cards

Yesterday I ran across some of my Altenew stamp sets that had not seen any love for awhile so today I made a card using two of them.

For this card I used the Altenew Bells and Bows stamp set and the sentiment was from the Altenew Lyrical Script stamp set. After all were stamped I simply die cut the panel out with an MFT Die-Namics Wonky Stitched Rectangle Stacker die. This panel was placed onto a white card base and then I added rhinestones in the same colors as the bows.

Yesterday the quarry near our farm did a big blast and when I opened up my crafting supply cupboard out fell my new set of colored pencils from Spectrum Noir. They were scattered all over the place. I had four of the sets and each set had different colors in them. They were numbered so with a chart I finally after quite a bit of time got each one back into their own set. I hope the lead is not broken inside the pencils.  So therefore, not much creativity got done yesterday.

Also I want to show you the nice flag pole my family erected for me for Mother's Day. We had two flag poles previously and they were some flimsy poles from a kit so this time my hubby found an old well pipe and painted it silver and they cemented it into the ground so that it should withstand the winds. The other ones we had were bent over with strong winds.

Well, I hope your week is going well. Thanks for the visit and I will love to see what you think of my pretty bows and flag pole.

God bless,

Yellow & Blue Birthday

I have made another card for the current Impression Obsession Challenge in which the colors of yellow and blue should be used. So I pulled out the pretty IO Cover A Card stamp called Blackeyed Susan to create this birthday card.

I don't know about you but I love this huge cover stamp and so it was only a given that I would make a card using it. And, with the help of my Misti it was an easy way to get great coverage too.

Impression Obsession Products used:
CC236 Blackeyed Susan Stamp Set
CL653 Mini Messages3
DIE805-YY Checkered Frames
DIE814-U Pinked Stitched Sentiment Banner

Other Products:
Gina K. Design  glue runner, inks and card stock
Picket Fence Studios Life Changing Blending Brushes

I am also entering this in the Double D's Challenge-Frames.

Well, the weekend is upon us once again and we will be attending graduation activities so that will be a fun change of pace. I hope all of you have a great weekend and thanks so much for dropping by to visit.

May Twofers

I finally found the right stamp so I can play in Darnell's Twofer Challenge #16. The challenge was to use a wheel so I found a ship's wheel on a stamp set and that was what I used for my Twofer's.

I used the Gina K. Designs Water Droplets stencil for the  background of my first card and then over that stamped the ship's wheel and the ship. The sentiment was from the same set of stamps.

The second card also  used the ship's wheel but I also chose sentiments from another set from Gina K. Designs. This time the wheel was  used for a border design. The frames helped to make the whole design more outstanding I thought.

Supplies used:
Gina K. Designs Water Drop Stencil, Ship to Shore Stamp Set, Anemone Wishes Stamp Set, Glue Runner, inks and card stock
Impression Obsession: Checkered Frames Die

I am also entering this in the following challenges:
Mod Squad Challenge-One Layer-CAS
Double D Challenge-Frames

Well, it has been a fun afternoon making these cards. And, the sun has just now made an appearance but it sounds like it will be a cold and rainy weekend. We sure enjoyed the taste of summer though that we had with a few days in the upper 70's and low 80's.

I thank all of you for visiting and the comments you leave.

Jumping Graduates

Another graduation open house card arrived in the mail so this afternoon I made a quick card using Impression Obsession products. I am entering this into their Impression Obsession Challenge-Yellow and Blue. So naturally I went with yellow and blue for my design.

Impression Obsession Products used:
DIE814-U Pinked Stitched Sentiment Banner
DIE295-R Grads Jumping

I am entering this in the Word Art Wednesday Challenge too.

This went together really fast and I like the look too. Thanks for the visit. And until next time take care.

Blooming Tea

This card was created using the digital set I won called Blooming Tea which was designed by Cindy C. @ Escape To Stamping. You can see her blog HERE. And I apologize to Cindy as I am not very literate about using digitals and I know that there is supposed to be a way to layer digital stamps but I am afraid I had to print each one individually, fussy cut them and then layer them. Also the flower inside the teapot I got too big so I had to cut a bit off the top and bottom but even after surgery it did not look too bad. Good thing I had a Cutter Bee scissors to use.

I had no idea what Blooming Tea was until I Googled it. Apparently it is a dried up flower which is wrapped in tea leaves and then placed into a pot of hot water. After the leaves soften then the flower emerges inside the tea. And, they only use edible flowers so it is safe to drink.

I did not have a sentiment appropriate so I computer generated mine. The pots and cups were colored using the Life Changing Blending Brushes by Picket Fence Studios and Gina K. Designs inks. The solid coloring of the flowers and the lid of the pot were done with Bic Markers.

At any rate I did enjoy making this card and I hope will use it better as time goes on. Thanks Cindy!

I love to read your comments so thanks for the visits.

God bless,
Verna

Word Art

It has been a long time since I added a card to the Word Art Wednesday Challenge so I thought today I would make a sympathy card using a past verse that I had gotten from a previous Word Art Wednesday Challenge. I combined it with a beautiful stamp from Penny Black.

The Word Art Wednesday Challenge is an Anything Goes type of challenge so that is an advantage to my way of thinking. So if you want to join you can check things out at the link above.

The Ivory focal panel was die cut with a Maker's Movement (formerly Cheery Lynn Designs) die after I had added the flowers and colored them. Next I added a ribbon and some gold sequins. This panel was then added to an Ivory card base.

Supplies used:
Penny Black Full of Glee stamp set
Maker's Movement Stitched Rectangles Nested Essentials
Gina K. Designs Amalgam Black Ink
Ribbon-Unknown
Sequins-Sparkle Blends from Doodles Playground

I noticed I was short on sympathy cards and I felt that this was a verse that might be very comforting to the bereaved ones. Thanks for the visit and I would love to hear what you think about my using it for a sympathy card too.

God bless,
Verna

Masculine Fishing Scene

This morning I made a masculine card design that would work for either a Father's Day or a birthday card. I am not sure which way I will use it right now. I used  mostly Impression Obsession products and went with die cuts and a sentiment stamp set to create it. This card is being entered into the Impression Obsession Challenge in which we are to use yellow and blue.

Impression Obsession Dies used:
Pinked Stitched Sentiment Banner DIE814-U
Good Day Fishing DIE800-YY

Impression Obsession Stamp Set:
CL491 Life Stuff Sentiments

I used Gina K. Designs inks and Wild Dandelion, Navy and White card stocks. And, I did the ink blending on the background using the Life Changing Blending Brushes from Picket Fence Studios. The enamel dots on the sentiment panel are from Stampin' Up!

I had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend with my family and they did treat me royally. I am so blessed. And, I thank you for the visits and wonderful comments too.

Coffee Tag

While cleaning  up I found this empty tag that I had die cut from the Gina K. Designs Decorative Tags die set so I decided to dress it up a bit and do a last minute entry to the 2019 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Hop.

I had some leftover coffee bean print out paper from The Cutting Cafe so used that for the background and then printed out the cup and sentiment from the Verve Here Comes The Sun digital stamp set. I did a little coloring and fussy cutting and then added them to the tag. Last thing added was the yellow gingham ribbon.

Thanks for the fun and for all who visited! Now I best get back to my cleaning. Until next time take care

God bless,
Verna

#8: Coffee Therapy

I am pretty sure this will be my last card for the hop as I have to remove all my supplies as I am getting into baking and cleaning mode again. So that will be another form of creativity. But enough of that and here is my final card design for the 2019 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Hop.

I actually have real coffee stains on this piece of Ivory card stock to which I stamped the various cup designs from the Gina K. Designs Coffee Therapy stamp set. I guess that is not surprising since I craft at the kitchen table. LOL

I went with a multiple of colors for the cups and die cut that panel out with the Gina K. Designs Double Stitched Oval die. Over the cups I stamped the sentiment which is from the same stamp set as the cups. I then added that panel to a Gina K. Designs Double Stitched Rectangle die cut. And, the final layer of dark gray was die cut with a Cottage Cutz Double Stitched Rectangle die.  Once all the layers were adhered together I then added them to an Ivory card stock base.

Well, that is it for me and I had so much fun doing these cards this week. And, I want to thank all who worked so hard to put the hop on and provide prizes. But most of all I thank all who stopped by to leave comments.

Everyone have a great rest of the week and to all the mothers or mother like ladies I wish you all a Happy Mother's Day!

God bless,
Verna

#7: Cupcake Blooms

I used the free digi from Stamplorations called Cupcake Blooms which was illustrated by Shery Russ. I colored it with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol and then added a sentiment from the Stamplorations Trendy Spring Blooms stamp set which is also illustrated by Shery. This will be entered into the 2019 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

I die cut the focal panel and also another panel out with the Maker's Movement Stitched Rectangles Nested Essentials die set.

Thanks so much for the visits and for all the wonderful comments. I am having lots of fun with this hop but have to quit soon and put all the crafty items off the kitchen table so when my guests for the weekend arrive we can eat a meal. I want to squeeze in one more card if possible. I also need to bake cookies as our church is taking several dozen to a few nursing homes Sunday.

So until next time have a great time!
God bless,
Verna

#6 Coffee Couple

I chose to do an anniversary or maybe by the stretch of the imagination it could be used for a Valentine but for me it will  be an anniversary card for my hubby later this year. I think those cups are so darling. So this will be entered into the 2019 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Hop.

Once again I used the super cute Coffee Couple digi from Jessica Lynn Originals.  I went with the traditional blue and pink colors along with a digi coffee bean print out from The Cutting Cafe. The hearts were all die cut using the Gina Marie Designs Stacked Stitched Hearts set. The sentiment is from the Gina K. Designs Perfect Blend stamp set and was layered to black card stock. And the cups were colored with Copics and along with the sentiment were popped up onto the card using 3-D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives.  I thought it needed a bit more so I added the Impression Obsession Checkered Frames die cut. And that completed my card.

I want to express my gratitude to all who have visited and left such uplifting comments. I sure appreciate them.

Until next time take care and God bless,
Verna

No. 5 Coffee Card

I worked up a quick note card for the 2019 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Hop using a free digi, a stencil, some stamps and awesome ink colors. I really love how it looks too and I hope you like it as well.

I used the Gina K. Designs inks and Water Droplets stencil to make the background on a white card base. Then I printed out the free plain cup from Limited Runs Digis and colored it with Copics.  They were generous and gave a plain design and a decorated one. After it was colored I then stamped the sentiment and the coffee beans from the Gina K. Designs Perfect Blend stamp set,  A little swipe of my white paint pen on the beans gave a more realistic look I thought. The last step was to fussy cut the cup and add it to the front stenciled panel. Voila! A card design that I really love!

If you have time I hope you can add some card designs or other coffee, tea or hot cocoa to the hop. Be sure to use spring/summer themes or ones that will work for any season or reason. I thought this card I made would be that all occasion type. Thanks for visiting and I thank you for all the wonderful comments.

God bless,
Verna

No. 4-Coffee For Two

I saw that I had this Stamplorations stamp set and thought immediately of an anniversary card design. And, I went with a variety of summer colors and in a wonky design pattern. I hope you like this card for the 2019 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

First thing I did was take a panel of Gina K. Designs Ivory card stock and I blended on lots of various Gina K. Designs inks to create a background using the Life Changing Blending Brushes. Once my background was done I stamped the Stamplorations Coffee for Two stamp by Shery Russ Designs with the help of my Misti. This was then die cut using a die from the Makers Movement Stitched Rectangles Nested Essentials die set. My next layer was some black card stock die cut with the same Makers Movement set. I then added that to another die cut panel of the blended background but I laid it in a wonky fashion. The next layer was again a black die cut panel but this was laid wonky as well onto the card base of Gina K. Designs Key Lime card stock. The black card stock was from Gina K. Designs too. Once all was assembled I added some Doodle Bug Designs Inc. Beetle Black Glitter Sprinkles.

I hope some of you can join in on the coffee hop and have some fun with it.

Until next time take care and God bless,
Verna

Coffee Card #3

For this card I brought out the cute set of owls in the Wise Old Owl set by Gina K. Designs. This particular one is holding a cup of coffee so I thought he was perfect for using for the 2019 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Hop.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set and all the card stock and pattern paper is from Gina K. Designs too. The sentiment was stamped  onto white card stock and then I framed it with a piece of gingham paper using the negative of a die from Stamplorations which was a postage stamp design. This was then layered to red card stock. I also used some of that same gingham paper and red card stock to make a faux ribbon look. I thought the bright yellow card base was so cheery looking with these items. The last element added was some brown rhinestone gems.

Thanks for visiting and I hope your weekend is going well.

God bless,
Verna

Coffee Card #2

Here is another card I made for the 2019 Spring/Summer Coffee  Lovers Hop. This time I chose to make a Father's Day card. I used a digital stamp and some leftovers I had in my possession.  And I computer generated the sentiment.

The gentleman coffee cup is in fact from the Coffee Couple digital set from Craftin Desert Divas. I cut him away from the lady cup and then colored it with Prismacolor pencils and blended it with Gamsol. I used Impression Obsession Checkered Frames dies that I had die cut in various colors for the background. In the smaller frame I added a negative piece and on that piece I mounted my Father Coffee. The card stock is from Gina K. Designs and I also used the Gina K. Designs glue tape runner to adhere the frames. The cup was popped up with Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Foam Squares.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you can join in on the fun! There are lots of fabulous prizes being given away too.

God bless,
Verna

Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers

Here is a card I made especially for the 2019 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. The fun starts today and goes for a whole week. You can check the side bar for the dates and website for the event.

For this design I used a stamp set I won from last year's hop which is from Uniko Stamps. I also used the Gina K. Designs Wreath Builder template to make a background for the big "to go" coffee cup. It involved some fussy cutting but I ended up really liking the end result of the design. The inks and card stock used were also from Gina K. Designs except the cup was colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol.

Well, I hope you can join in on the fun. And, a happy weekend to all of you. I hope to make a few more coffee or tea cards before the week long event is done

God bless,
Verna

National Day of Prayer

I made this card in honor of the National Day of Prayer which is today. Not that a special day is the only time we should pray. We should call upon the Lord daily.

I was hoping that these supplies would arrive in time so that I could share a card for you today. And indeed they did as they were in my mailbox this morning, So I feel that this project was meant to happen today! Goes to show that the Lord is in charge!

When I saw the wonderful stencils and awesome sentiment set from the new company The Greetery I knew I wanted to own these supplies. I so admired the samples given and in the wonderful Spring colors and so with that in mind I sort of duplicated the colors used for the card that was displayed during their grand opening posts. There were several other items I wished to own too but alas they were already out of stock. So I know I am not the only one who is loving the products there. I hope you will welcome this new company and check them out.

The Greetery Supplies used:
Comforting Commands Stamp Set
Comforting Commands Die Set
Fir & Foliage No. 1 Stencil
Pathway Stencil

Other Supplies:
Gina K. Designs Inks
Gina K. Designs Card Stock
Crafter's Companion Glue Pen

May the Lord bless all of you.

Glittery Mother's Day Card

With Mother's Day not that far away I switched gears from Christmas designs and instead worked on a card for one of my daughters. A month ago I had made a stencil design with Deco Foil Transfer Gel and some of my glitter supply and so I used that as a basis for my card design. I stamped the sentiment in the upper right corner with Black Amalgam ink using a stamp from Gina K. Designs.

Next I stamped some flowers and then fussy cut them out and after that I added some loose Sparkle N Sprinkle glitters using some Connect Glue from Gina K. Designs to adhere them. I used my cutter to cut the focal stenciled design and then added the popped up flowers to that panel. I wanted to pick up a bit of the lighter color green that I had used on the stencil design so I took some white glitter paper and die cut some fronds and then with a marker added the lighter color of green. This decorated panel was then added to a white card base.

Supplies used:
Gina K. Designs-
Lisa Hendrick-Today & Always Stamp Set
Melanie Muenchinger-Fabulous Holiday Fillers
Connect Glue
Foliage Art Stencil
Black Amalgam Ink
Passionate Pink, Dandelion Yellow and Coral Reef Inks

Cheery Lynn Designs Die-
Floral Bouquet Kit

Sparkle N Sprinkle-
Variety of Glitters

Challenges entered:

Anyway, I really went all out with glitter for this card. And, once again I have a sparkly floor, skin, hair, food, etc. You name it! LOL

Thanks so much for visiting on this cccold Spring Day. I hope we warm up again soon! After all, this is May!

God bless,
Verna
