Another Fourth of July Card

Here is another card I made for the shut-ins. I got them all ready to go in the mail now. But each one I did was a little bit different.

This also was made using the A Jillian Vance Design set called Cross Stitch Freedom. I am not sure if that set is still available or not. I got this quite some time ago so it could have been discontinued by now.

And as to the No Comment Blogger I mean when I leave a comment on your blog post you should be able to click on my name or photo and find my email address so you can comment back if you want to. And, I will try to fix the Captcha thingie too. LOL I must have accidentally changed it when trying to figure out things lately.

Have a great week everyone. I love the comments and so glad you come to visit me.

God bless, Verna

Question?

Am I listed as a "no reply" commentor? I was hoping it was fixed so that people could get in touch with me if they comment. Thanks to all who let me know.

June Rudolph Days Challenge

It was a good thing I had my card already made for the June Rudolph Days Challenge as this past week I have not been in much of a creative mood. But none the less here is my creation and it is made with a Stamplorations stamp set called Layered Lights and some Altenew Washi tape and a Spellbinder die at each end of the design which was a gift so I have no clue as to which set it came from. But I like it a lot.

I made a slimline design with these pretty images and wonderful sentiments from the set. And I used already made card fronts and bases from Paper Cuts which sure are handy as I don't have to measure and cut them myself.  I used stamp pads from Rubbernecker to stamp the baubles and Gina K. Designs black ink for the sentiment.

I spent my week in mourning of my sister and notifying relatives. Then yesterday we attended the visitation and today was her funeral. We opted to attend only the visitation due to my health but we did live stream her service this morning so that was nice we had that option. She will be so missed but I know she is in the best hands ever now with our Lord Jesus so that is a comfort. I know she would want all of her family to go on with life as usual and just be happy she is no longer in pain. She had celebrated her 90th birthday in February so she had a long life.

I hope all of you are doing okay. Thanks for visiting.

Take care and God bless,  Verna

Independence Day Card

I have been working on the Fourth of July cards for my shut-ins and this is one of them I did. All I made are very CAS but I still like them. The stripe stamp is from a Gina K. Designs set called Tiny Textures and the bell and sentiments are from A Jillian Vance Design set called Cross Stitch Freedom.

I finished the card design by adding some negative swirly stars I had saved from another die cut design. I thought they worked perfectly with the theme.

I am entering this in the Double D Challenge-Signs of Summer. I chose to use the patriotic colors shown on the inspiration photo.

Thanks for the visit. I love to read the comments too. They mean so much to me. I hope you can find a way to keep following my blog posts. The new email Follow It at the top right of my blog will be an option for you too!

Golden Anniversary

This week I worked on an anniversary card for my sister and brother-in-law who will be celebrating their golden wedding anniversary in mid July. I chose a stamp from the Gina K. Designs Just a Little Stamp set and I embossed it in Gina K. Designs Fine Detail Gold powder. I also die cut the sentiment from Tonic Studios in white and then added clear embossing ink all over it and then added some of the same gold embossing powder and heat set that so that it would match the gold of the floral design. Off to the left I added a little gold washi tape from Altenew and then placed it onto a gold metallic background before adding it to the white card base. The focal panel was die cut with a Makers Movement stitched rectangle die. I struggled a bit with this design but in the end I was very pleased with it and I hope the happy couple will love it too.

Thanks so much for the visits and I love reading your comments. If you want to get my posts by email you will have to sign up for them in the newly added Follow It gadget at the right top side of my blog.

Until next time take care and God bless, Verna

Wild Roses

I decided to join in on the Mod Squad Challenge-Simple Focus and this was the card I made for it. I used the Gina K. Designs Whimsical Wildflowers set and I immediately went to what I think was the wild rose design. I am a little bummed though as I think my Copics I used smeared with the black ink I used. It is not supposed to do that but for some reason today they did. But I went with it anyway. I think from now on I will stick with my Bic and Sharpie pens. I seem to have better results with them.

I wanted to make the flowers pop more so I took my blending brushes and added a bit of blue ink around them. Then the panel was added to black and then from there to the white card base.

Thanks to all who commented and let me know my Follow It link was up and working correctly. That made me happy. And, to all of you who had followed by email before soon the way you signed up will no longer be working so if you want to continue to follow by email you have to use the Follow It option instead.

Well, take care and thanks for visiting. I love to read your comments.

Christmas Card and a Favor

Today I decided I had to get back to the Christmas card making so once again I grabbed a set of the card fronts from Stamplorations and made up five cards with this design. The sentiment is also from Stamplorations. I really love this design as I really like poinsettias. I placed the card front onto Cranberry Tart card stock from Gina K. Designs. I thought it was a perfect match to the reds in the focal panel.

Also here is the favor I would like to ask of those who previously signed up to my Follow It link on my right side bar as I deleted the old one and uploaded it again and this time without my email address showing. So I hope by doing that I didn't mess up any of you who signed up for my blog that way. So if you get a notification can you please state so if you leave a comment. If you didn't get a post notification then you might have to sign up again.

I still cannot figure out how to get notifications when you comment so I will just check my post now and then to read them. And, I truly thank you for the visits. They mean so much to me.

So until next time take care.

Trophy Dad Card

I make cards for my son-in-laws and my son besides my husband for Father's Day so since this is for a son-in-law I went with his favorite color which is purple.  He is also a Vikings fan so I found this pattern paper in my stash which worked great. The trophy is from the Jan's Digital #1 Dad set. Together they made a simple but great card design for the occasion.

I hope all of you are doing well and I wish to thank you so much for the wonderful comments you leave me. I so appreciate them.

Take care and God bless, Verna

New Follow It Gadget Added

At least I hope I added it right and that now you can follow me by email this way as the blogger option is soon done. I saw another gal had this so I looked into it and I see it is on my blog now with my email address in it. So the post I do now should show up I would think in an email. We shall see if it happens.

I hope all are having a great day! Hugs, Verna

The Background!

It's All About the Background! That is the theme for the Monthly Challenge at Gina K. Designs and so for this background on my scene I chose to use my blending brushes to create one and then stamped in the images later on.

The first thing I did was to die cut a large circle using Gina K. Designs largest circle die from a Post-It Note to create a mask. Then I fastened this mask onto white card stock and then with the blending brushes I blending in the colors. Once I had that done I was ready to stamp the scene. For this scene I used several of Gina K. Designs stamp sets.....Framescape Winter Trees, Life is Good and the sentiment was from By the Sea 2 set. The sun was made using the little circle design on the Little Hello Layering Stencil Bundle. Once this was all finished I simply added my scene to a yellow card base.

Thanks for visiting. For some reason I don't get comment notifications to my email now so if I will most likely discontinue commenting back on all of them but I will be sure to check my blog perodically to view them.  But I truly love reading all of them and thank you from the bottom of my heart for the sweet words you leave me. Also if I don't have your email address (Sandra) I cannot send you my new one. Your profile did not include any and you did not respond to my old email either. I don't want to publish either too much on my blog if I don't have to.

Well that's all for today. Nice to be making a card again. Take care everyone.

God bless, Verna
