Coffee Lovers #1

Hi all! The time for the 2018 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Hop has arrived and I must admit it did catch me off guard. I had not prepared ahead of time for it as I was so caught up with other things but this afternoon I did get one card done for it.

The tea cup and saucer stamps are from the Tea Party stamp set by The Ton. I made an extra saucer to put the gingerbread man on which is a die from Cheery Lynn Designs. The sentiment is from The Jingle All The Way stamp set by Carta Bella Designer Stamps. These images were placed on a white piece of card stock which was die cut with an Unbranded scalloped stitched die. I added a little plaid ribbon on the one corner which is one of the many beautiful ones from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I added some stickers to the tea cup and also by the sentiment. And some rhinestones were added to the gingerbread man as well as some white using a paint pen.

We had reasonably warm weather the last few days but it sounds like some nasty weather is moving in for the weekend. So it might be a time to stay put and get a few more cards for the hop made. Regardless, I am so happy you dropped by and I love to read the comments you leave.

God bless,

Singing Penguins

Well I do believe I am going to be short a few Christmas cards so with that in mind I decided to join the Mod Squad Challenge in which the theme is to use a critter on a holiday card. So I went with the cute Caroling Penguins from Penny Black and used them for a quick and easy card. Using my Misti I stamped the design with Memento black ink and colored them with Copics.

I used traditional Christmas colors for them and then used an Unbranded  scalloped stitch die to frame them. I also added a white piece of card stock inside to add a stamped or written message.
And, that was all it took. I do love that stamp from Penny Black.

The past few days except yesterday I have been addressing and writing out my cards. Yesterday however was my day to get a haircut and I must say I feel pounds lighter. LOL I told my gal to cut it very short as these days with snow and ice on the ground I don't like to venture out. I just am having it harder to manage my footwork on that type of terrain.

So wonderful of all of you who visit and leave comments. I tell you they are very much appreciated. Anyway, until next time take care and enjoy life.

God bless,

Many Thanks

I made a last minute card design after lunch today to add to the Mod Squad Blog Challenge for this time around. Since I often need thank you cards I went and made one of those trying to use the theme of the challenge in the card design. The way I understand it one is to use a central big sentiment and then stamp images around it. My MISTI was employed for this card too.

I used the Stamplorations stamp set called Trendy Spring Blooms. The flowers were stamped using a Hero Arts Omber Spring Brights stamp pad and the Gina K. Designs Amalgam Jet Black ink pad for the outer layer, sentiment and the leaves. The last thing I did was to add some rhinestone gems using the same colors from the inks I had used.

I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday. Thanks for the visit and for all the lovely comments you leave too. I am going to start writing and addressing Christmas cards this afternoon and listen to Christmas songs to keep me in the mood.

God bless,
Verna

November Rudolph Days Challenge

I had a CAS card already made for the November Rudolph Days challenge so I am sharing it with you today. It is made with another wonderful die from Gina Marie Designs called Cut in Cut Out Christmas Angel.

I used a sentiment from the Stampin' Up! set called Christmas Pines. And the Gina K. Designs card stock used was Cranberry, Ivory and Honey Mustard. The sentiment was stamped with Memento Black ink.

I really love this die and it really cut amazingly well with my machine. This was the only card I made with this die but I know it will be used lots more in the years to come.

Thanks for the visit and hard to believe the year is nearly gone again. And, thanks for being here with me so many times and for the wonderful comments.

God bless,

Snuggle Up!

The Double D Challenge is named Snuggle Up! So I thought using this tag design and by computer generating a sentiment I could perhaps along with the cable sweater embossing folder capture some of the inspiration from the mood board.

The tag is from the Christmas Carol printable collage sheet from the  Iralamija Shop. The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon and the Cable Knit embossing folder is from Stampin' Up!

Sorry I have been missing so much. I spent a good portion of the week of course celebrating Thanksgiving and then I was trying to assemble all the gifts into one big box so I could get it sent off to Japan. I even baked some cookies to put in it. So that mission was accomplished today. Next I wrote up a Christmas letter to put inside some of the cards I will be sending out to family and a few friends. And no doubt I will begin addressing the cards for Christmas soon too.

I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I know I am so grateful for all of you who faithfully leave comments and read my blog. They are so uplifting to me. Now have a good weekend.

God bless,

November Twofer Challenge

I finally made a card or I should say two of them using the same wreath die but two different ways for Darnell's Twofer Challenge #11. I have been so busy with other things these past few days that I did not get any card making in until today. Both cards  use a die cut design from Impression Obsession Dies called Geometric Cutout 2.

The Christmas version uses a sentiment from Penny Black inside the wreath design. And, I backed the open area of the wreath with some green glitter paper. Next I added some red rhinestone gems and also some Christmas plaid ribbon. This white panel was then placed onto a red card base. I also added a white sheet inside for the stamped sentiment.

The second way for using the open die wreath design was for a sympathy card. I went with more Fall colors and used some colored die cut leaves from the Cheery Lynn Designs Flourish Leaf Strip to the wreath. The sentiment inside the wreath is from the Sparkle N Sprinkle Memory In Our Heart Stamp set. The white panel was layered to a light brown one and then added to the white card base.

That is my Twofers for this November. I hope some of you can enter into the fun as well. Darnell stated she is now including stencils along with stamps and dies for the challenge. So there are more options for you this way. I have the challenge posted on my side bar too.

Well, that will do it for me this week. This past weekend we had a wedding. And now I am busy baking and cleaning. We are having our family Thanksgiving this weekend and that is also the church bake sale fundraiser so I have been trying to keep up with both tasks. I hope your week is off to a good start and I thank you for the visit and lovely comments.

Monochromatic Card

The new monthly challenge at Stamp TV is to make a monochromatic Christmas card. So I pulled out the snowflakes again from the Gina K. Designs Fruit of the Season Kit and made this card.

I used three different shades of blue inks and did the first inking in a lighter color and then with the other ink cubes I added a middle shade and then a darker shade. I simply tapped the last two colors here and there on the stamps which I had in my MISTI. That way I could always add more color if I wanted. Once the background was finished I die cut it with a Memory Box Cross Stitched Border die.

The ribbon I added had little flecks of metallic threads in it and they gave off an iridescent glow so I also added some gems that gave an iridescent look too. In the top photo you can see them glow a bit better.

I also die cut a white panel with the cross stitch die to place inside the card so that I can stamp a message and write a little note.

I am  entering this in the Dies R Us Challenge #108 in which we are to use a die with stitches.

Well, no snow for real here but we are getting rain. It is a dreary day. I hope where you are that regardless of the weather you are having a great one. Thanks for coming by and for the comments.

Partridge In A Pear Tree

Yes, I know! I am singing that song too or as much of it as I can remember. Today I just did a simple colored design using Memento ink and Copics. I made a square card using the stamps from the Gina K. Designs Fruit of the Season TV kit.

I dressed  up the card a bit by using layers of coordinating colors and also adding some gems and a red and white twine. And, that was all it took to make a CAS card for holiday giving.

Thanks for stopping in on this dreary day. No sun and quite cool too. Fall is indeed in the air!

God bless,

Sunset on Lake Birthday

Well, I am not sure if I achieved the look I was going for but none the less I did enjoy making this card. I thought it would be a nice masculine design too. I used stamps from the Blue Knight stamp set called Silhouette Corner Foliage. I added these stamps to my background which I had made using sponging tools from Picket Fence Designs.

We are having a bit more dreary afternoon so I wonder if we aren't in store for some rain soon. It was sunny to begin with but according to my joints aching today I think we are going to see a change soon. I hope your day is going well. I am not doing any more then I absolutely have to. Feels like a lazy day to me. LOL Anyway, until next time you take care and thanks for visiting.

God bless,
