Christmas Destination: Grandma's House

For this card I made a scene using a digital stamp set from Jan's Digitals called Over the River. I fell in love with that car loaded up with gifts and also in the set was the beautiful snowy scene background so I paired them together. I did not add a sentiment on the front of the card but did add one inside which of course is: "Over the river and through the woods to Grandmother's house we go." I have so many images in that set to work with so I am sure I will be showing off more cards made with this digital set soon. I used a stitched die from Maker's Movement to cut the scene.

I could have added the car to the background right away before printing but I thought if I did the car separately I could then pop it up to give more dimension.  So that was the route I went. I chose to use the already colored designs too. I made six cards with this design. So I am really getting a good handle on my Christmas card supply. Soon I will have to think about doing Fall designs as that season is right around the corner too.

I wish all of you a great weekend. And, thanks so much for the visits and lovely comments. I look forward to reading each one of them too. Until next time take care.

God bless, Verna

Baptism Card

Our little Leah will be baptized this coming Sunday so I had to make up a card for the occasion. Since I am getting around in a wheelchair I was not able to get to a lot of my crafting supplies so I had to rely mainly on digital and computer generation for this card. So it is not exactly what I had in mind but it will work and I hope as she gets older she will like the card I made for her.

The cross was a digital image a friend sent me so I used that for the card. And the praying child is a digital I got years ago from I Brake for Stamps. The verse I computer generated and made it personalized for her. I colored the images in with my Bic Mark It pens. The little flower stickers were from Jolees By You and the background digital paper is from Artsystamper Digitals. Inside the card I added this verse: I have called you by name; you are mine. Isaiah 43:1.

Well we are still working with garden goodies. I took care of green beans yesterday as far as taking the ends off and cutting into pieces but did not freeze them yet. But we did freeze more beets so I think the rest of the beets I will try to find someone who will want them. We have plenty in the freezer now. We also got some huge heads of cabbage and since we have plenty of them I will be taking one head of cabbage, some beans and some potatoes to my daughter for her family. One of my daughters got some when she visited a few days ago. And there will be more coming from the garden so since it is harder for me to work with garden things I will gift some to others. But my sweet hubby is helping with the freezing of the veggies. So I am truly blessed. I gave him the day off so he could go fishing. I hope he has a good catch.

I am going to perhaps work on more Christmas cards. I think I am in the 70's now. I did quite a few last week. And mainly am using digital images and card kits for most of them. So that is very convenient. We might have to remodel and move some things so I can get to my other supplies easier.

Well take care and have a good rest of the week.

God bless, Verna

Rudolph Days Entry for July

My entry for the July Rudolph Days Challenge is another Stamplorations card front design. I also used another Penny Black sentiment for it.

I adhered the card front panel to a base card of Gina K. Designs Tomato Soup card stock and I also used Gina K. Designs Tomato Soup ink to stamp the sentiment to the panel. These colors I thought were a close match to the red on the berries in the focal design.

Thanks for the visit. Hard to believe July is almost over again. Time is whooshing by. Have a great week.

Christmas Card

I finally found time to photograph another of the card fronts from Stamplorations and I also used a sentiment from Penny Black on it. I just love those card fronts as they are so beautiful!

This one I simply added the front to a white card base as it had a slim line of the red around it. I am so glad I have some quick options for making Christmas cards. I will be back in a couple days with another one.

I also designed some digital cards but that was as far as I got. They still have to be cut up and assembled but at least part of the process is done this way.

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying summer. I thank you for the comments you leave and I wish I could reply back to all but I have no idea how to do that anymore. But I do read all of them.

God bless, Verna

I've Been Busy

Well, there are several reasons why I have not posted lately. For one thing I pulled a muscle in my right leg and now am using a wheelchair. Also the garden has been producing cabbage, beets, green beans, onions and potatoes which need to be used. The photo below is just one hill of potatoes and it nearly filled up a gallon ice cream pail. If rodents had not eaten on two of them I think it would have been full. This photo was taken before we washed the dirt off. They sure look nice when clean.

But most important to us is that we have a new granddaughter, Leah Jeanne. And, she is healthy and so beautiful. We feel so blessed. Needless to say we are in love with her already.

She was born July 19th and weighed 8 lbs.1 oz. and 19 1/2 inches long. And no medical complications for her at all either. And her Mom is doing well too and they both went home from the hospital today. So again I say God is good for hearing our prayers for a safe delivery. I just had to share our new little bundle of joy with you.

I hope all of you are doing well. I am getting some better with my leg but still I am so glad I have a wheelchair to use until I can walk again better. Take care and thanks to all of you for the visits and wonderful comments.

Quick Card Front Cards

Well it is summer and now there is lots going on here. Not only have I had company but now the garden is starting to produce. I am so thankful for a great hubby who is helping me with the taking care of the vegetables. It seems the chemo pills I am taking are really affecting my joints and muscles and I seem weak in a lot of ways now and always tired. Also my fingers no longer have the right feeling at the tips of them and so it is harder for me to pick up things or use them. I have a dickens of a time putting my earrings in now. LOL But I did manage to get a few Christmas cards completed using the Stamplorations Quick Card Fronts. I will share them with you today. I still have more of the designs to work with and I bought five packets and they have six card fronts in each packet so it amounts to quite a few. Here is the first one.

For the card above I used a light gray card stock base to layer the front on and used some red ink from The Rubbernecker for the sentiment which is from Penny Black. I love the look of it.

And below is the next card I made using some Sandy Beach card stock for the base. And the sentiment used on that is a die from Lil' Inker Designs. I love how that looks too with the beige and brown tones on it.

I love poinsettias in any color and these really looked amazing to me. I thought using red for the sentiment was a perfect fit.

Well since hubby is fishing today I think I will work on more of the card front Christmas cards. But this will add ten to my stash. I still need a lot more though so it sure is handy to have some easy and beautiful ways of making them now that my fingers don't want to work right. Hard for me to color too which really bums me out but such is life. We have to adapt I guess!

Thanks for the visit and I am loving all the comments you leave me. Please forgive me for not responding but since I no longer get email notification it is hard to keep up. I hope your week is going well. So until next time take care.

God bless, Verna

Baby Girl Card

We are getting so excited as soon we will have another granddaughter. In fact, the due date has been moved up to July 19th so that was an incentive for me to work on a card to welcome the new little girl to the family. Since this uses a mini House Mouse image from Stampendous I am entering this in the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge. The dies used for the card are an unknown brand.

I know it is a very simple design but I think little Leah will not mind it. Thanks for visiting and I hope all are having a wonderful week. I made a few Christmas cards and also am getting ready for company again this coming weekend. Then Saturday night I have my All School Reunion which I am hoping I will feel well enough to attend. So I don't want to bring out too many craft supplies so that it won't be so much work to clear the kitchen table off again. Hahaa!

Until next time God bless. Verna

Let the Sparks Fly!

Happy birthday to the United States of America. May God bless our nation! And if you are in a drought area be sure to be careful with the fireworks. Those flying sparks can ingnite quickly with dried up foliage.

I wish all of you a safe and happy Fourth of July!
