Today I decided to make a card that carried a winter theme but would still be for a wedding. I think I found a way to get that message across using a Cuttlebug Snowflake embossing folder and some dies from Cheery Lynn Designs. So therefore I am going to enter this in the Cheery Lynn Designs Blog challenge for this week. The challenge this week is to use silver or gold and since I used silver I figured it was a qualifying entry.
I used silver embossing powder from Gina K. Designs to emboss the sentiment which is from My Sentiments Exactly. I also used the embossing powder around the outside oval to match.
On the snowflake die cut I used a white embossing powder which had flecks of silver glitter in it which is from Sparkle N Sprinkle. However the silver flecks don't show up to well for some reason. In order to get more body to the snowflake I cut it out three times and then layered it.
The ribbon I added was almost a perfect matching silver so I used that on both corners of the card in opposite sides.
Here is a close up of the snowflake and I think the glitter shows a bit better with this photo.
Cheery Lynn Dies used:
DL 166 Snowflake 2
M-7 Oval-Classic
XM-8 Oval-Scalloped
Well, I am feeling a bit recovered from my busy weekend. It was a fun one and I enjoyed the visiting with friends and family. I plan to do less this week and try and have some crafty fun now and then.
Thanks for coming by and I always love the comments you leave.
God bless,
Verna
