I got the brushes and acrylic paints out again and dabbled a bit with them and created a scene that features an evergreen and lilac bush on our farm. It sort of looks similar to what we see in our yard area.
I am completely out of the white paint now and so I am not sure when I will paint more things again. I would need white as I only had six tubes and had to mix all the time to get the shades I wanted. Good thing I know that blue and red make purple. LOL
And I had a dickens of a time trying to take a photo of it. Again, this is done on the practice sheets. I don't know if I will ever be comfortable enough to try the big canvases. And, when I was done it looked like I had painted my hands as well. What a clutz! As you can see this is outside of my comfort zone. But at least I can say that I did try it!
I got some great news as well. My son and his two boys will be joining us for Christmas. I know....that is a long way off, but since they live in Japan that is a big thrill for all of our family. So we are looking forward to a wonderful get together at Christmas time. Sad though that his wife cannot accompany them as she is working on her PHD and so she is extra busy with that besides her work schedule.
Well, have a great rest of the weekend.
God bless,
Verna

This is awesome Verna. You certainly are having fun with these painting projects. Get some more white paint! What wonderful news that your son and buys will be with you at Christmas. I know you had missed them at Easter.
How fun to have your son and family with you for Christmas. Something to look forward to, indeed. And I know what you mean about painting your hands. Why is it always so messy? I can see that you are having fun with your painting, I think you might be the new Grandma Moses. Well done, my dear!
Ooooh I bet your hands were as pretty as your painting! :) How glorious! LOVE your tree and lilacs, so pretty! Oh what a celebration Christmas will be....YAY!
WOW this is a really great painting. I am sure you are thrilled beyond words to hear that your son and family will be with you this Christmas. What a joy that will be.
You definitely need to get more white paint! You've been doing such a fine job with your painting. I'm particularly impressed with the gorgeous colors you have been creating by mixing your paints. Great news that your son and his boys will be with you for Christmas!!
This is great! I love seeing what you see when you look out your window : ) I especially LOVE Lilacs they are one of my all time favorite flowers.
Verna! I am so excited for you that you will get to see your son and grandson at Christmas! WOW! Japan!! that must be terribly hard to have them so far away. I know you'll have a blessed visit.

Great picture again Verna.
You must be so happy to think of the family coming home for the season. What a wonderful thing to look forward to.
I wouldn't call this dabbling. You're handling acrylics like a pro. Well done, Verna.
