Today I made a card for a special occasion. I used a digital image and a sentiment from the set called Gone Fishin by Beccy's Place. I printed it out and then with blending brushes and markers colored in the scene. This is a card to celebrate the adoption of our grandson by his stepdad.
Several years ago when our grandson realized his biological father was no longer interested in keeping in touch with him he asked his stepdad if he would adopt him. His stepdad said he would and they began to get the proceedings going by hiring a lawyer and then starting the whole procedure involved. But of course then the pandemic hit and everything in the courts systems was stalled and put on hold. But this week they were finally notified that they should be in the court by 4 o'clock this afternoon and the adoption and name change would go through. So we are overjoyed for the family and know our grandson has a good stable father-son relationship with this wonderful man who is now his father. There is to be a celebration but unfortunately we could not attend as I had medical appointments I had to keep. But we are with them in spirit and are so excited for all of them.
And as to me I got a good report on my mammogram, got the third Covid shot, and saw my oncologist and he took me off the chemo pill permanently as it was determined it was doing more harm then good. So I feel much better and can breathe a bit easier knowing that I won't suffer with that pill anymore.
I hope this finds all of you doing well and I thank you so much for visiting each time I post. I am hoping soon it will be more often too. I am not using the wheelchair in the home anymore but instead am back to using the walker. I am not quite 100% back but at least I am improved. And I am okay with having the wheelchair to use when I need it especially when going to doctor appointments that require a lot of walking. So that is what's happening in my little corner of the world.
Take care and God bless, Verna

This is a wonderful heartwarming card for the occasion. I'm glad your grandson has a step father to stand in for him too! My stepfather was the best and I miss him terribly! I'm very happy for the good news on your health issues, way to go! You have quite a bit to celebrate!
Congratulations on the adoption. Lovely news. Plus, you got some good reports and are feeling better. What a huge blessing.
I love this card and especially the sentiment. [Bunny]
Oh, Verna, what a wonderful story! That would make a Hallmark movie, and you’ve definitely created a Hallmark worthy card! This made me tear up, my friend, and I totally love the digi’s from Beccy’s Place! Beautifully done! Happy to hear you are off those meds, and already feeling some relief. Will keep you at the top of my prayer list. God bless you!

Well isn't this a happy post. So glad for your family with the adoption, and also for YOUR good news. I know that medication can do a number on your body. This card is so stinkin' cute, and I love the greeting. Congrats all around, my friend.

How wonderful for the family Verna! Such a great story - glad it is official now! Your card is perfect for the occasion! I have and love that stamp! Glad you are off the pill that appears to have been hindering your health. Prayers that things will continue to improve.
What an awesome story..so happy for your family and such a blessing. The card is perfect for the occasion. Prayers for your health to keep improving, too!
I love your previous fall leaf card, those colors are my favorite look for fall. What a wonderful card for your grandson's celebration. Every boy needs a strong male in his life and this sounds like a wonderful man. I'm glad you are off the chemo pill. If it's making you worse, you don't want to keep taking it. It's nice to have the wheelchair for the times you need it so take advantage of it.
What a lovely card for a special occasion! So glad that it’s official after the long wait. I am also glad to hear all your good health news!
This card is so adorable. I love it. So happy for your grandson and his new daddy. That is an awesome story. It is good to hear you are feeling better.
Verna, just read the whole story behind your card. It's refreshing to hear that with determination good things happen. And with many prayers I am sure.
So happy to hear you are doing better health wise, that's a big hurdle and it sounds like you are handling it and getting stronger. Blessings and prayers to you for good health to come.
By the way...love the sentiment on your card. Made me chuckle.
This card is just the sweetest and the story of your grandson is even sweeter. Made me teary.
