I love the look of layered flowers and images and so when I saw this Altenew Craft-A-Flower:Daisy Layering Die Set I had to buy it and see if I liked working with die cuts as well as I do the layering stamps and stencils. Well, although the end result is beautiful I found that for me with my arthritic hands they would not work well with the small pieces. But I struggled and did finally get my card to sort of look okay. So my concensus is that I will not buy the die cut sets but will continue to buy the stamps and stencils. I must say my favorite is the stencils too. They were much easier to line up.
I started out with white card stock for all the die cut layers. I then used ink pads to color in the various colors. The white daisy I simply added a bit of light blue to the layers but not so heavy as to have them look blue but still maintain the white. The pink daisy was colored in with various shades of pink to create my layered look. And the leaves were with various shades of green ink added to the layers. The same with the centers of the daisies to which shades of brown were used. Those centers were where it was so hard for me to layer together as they were too small for my clumsy hands.
The sentiment is from one of my favorite Altenew sets called Beautiful Day. I am sending this one out to my niece who is now in remission from her Pancreatic cancer. I so hope she stays that way for a long, long time too. She has gotten well enough that she can resume her job. I am so glad as I know this has been an expensive ordeal for the family with her having to go to treatments.
Well, thanks for all the sweet comments which make my day. You are so good to me.
God bless, Verna

I can see where the die cuts would be more difficult than stencils for you, but my goodness…you knocked this one out of the park, Verna! Your niece will love it! I’ll pray for her to remain in remission.

What a cheery card and glad you persevered to make it for your Niece Verna x.
Well worth the effort Verna, and I can understand what you are saying about the small pieces being too tiny for your hands!
Stay safe

This is a lovely card l adore your flower heads xx
Your layered daisies look great. You can't tell at all that you were having trouble lining up the pieces. And the fact that you used ink to color all of your pieces instead of using colored card stock is impressive! I am so glad to hear that your neice is in remission! I remember when you posted that she was diagnosed: I can only imagine the long and difficult battle to get to this point. Praying that this is behind her for good.
Love the pretty layered flowers against the beautiful blue background! Great card!!
Bless you, Verna, for such a wonderful card for your niece -- it is really pretty! And prayers for your niece, I agree that she would be in the free and clear for health for a LONG, LONG time.
