This week the theme for the Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration Blog Challenge is Things With Wings. I decided I was in a Fall mode so went with the colors of Autumn in my design. It seemed all I had in the Cheery Lynn line for die cuts was butterflies which sported wings so that was my only option but I do love butterflies so I am satisfied using them.
First I took a white piece of Tim Holtz textured watercolor paper and then stamped the Mums randomly in black ink which are from the Stampinback Sheet 131A which is available at I Brake for Stamps. With sponges I added different shades of orange and reds to the mums stamped sheet.
I then die cut the background out as well as a black card stock layer using the Cheery Lynn Designs Card Maker's Stacker's Nesting Dies ST 014. I glued those layers together and added them to a base card of light orange card stock.
Next I sponged on inks in the same colors onto a plain piece of white card stock. Out of that inked paper I cut the angel wing for the butterfly. The lacy part of the butterfly was cut out of black card stock. I then glued the two together to make the butterfly complete. This was then adhered to the stamped panel in the lower right corner.
My sentiment is also from the same stamp set and I stamped it onto the light orange card stock with black ink and then layered it onto more black card stock before I placed it on the panel.
To complete the card I took some leftover background paper and layered it to some black card stock and placed that inside the card along the bottom.
Cheery Lynn Dies used:
ST -014 Rectangle A2 size stacker nesting dies
DL 156 Small Lace Butterfly with Angel Wing
Thanks for looking to see how I spent Sunday afternoon with a little card making project. I wish you all a wonderful week as well.
God bless,
Verna

Hi Verna, your butterfly colored with the autumn colors is so pretty. I too love the butterfly. That die is a great design, Perfect to use with the flower background.
Lovely fall colors Verna. Beautiful die too. The mums are the perfect background for the butterfly.
oooooh! such a wonderful card, Verna! Love the frilly butterfly, and a fantastic use of stamping your background! When you're done with the Mums image, I'll happily buy it from you LOL Flowers are my downfall - I am addicted to beautiful flowers, and keep on saying NO to any new butterfly or flower images. But you know how it goes. It's a great card! Hope you did not overdo on your leg during the wedding festivities! love, de
