Today I used a new favorite stamp from Penny Black called Trumpet Song along with an old time favorite sentiment which is made by Double D Stamps from Olivia, MN. This wood sentiment stamp was given to me by a friend and I only have the sticker on it to go by to know for sure where this stamp was made. Double D's might be the name of the store or it could be the designer of the stamp. At any rate, this sentiment has been used inside and out of many of my cards for years and especially on Get Well and Sympathy types.
I used my MISTI to make this card and I colored directly onto the stamp with my recently purchased Tombow markers. With the set came a blender pen so I used that to sort of blend the colors together. My card stock of choice was Gina K. Designs Ivory. I die cut a portion of the design with a Memory Box Cross Stitched Frame Borders die that I wanted for my card and placed it on another base card of ivory card stock. The sentiment was then added with Gina K. Designs black ink.
I am entering this card into the Penny Black and More Challenge. This month's challenge is to use a favorite stamp.
In year's past I used to have morning glories in almost this same color. I always admired them when I went out to the barn each morning in summer to do the milking and cleaning of equipment on our dairy farm. So this brings back wonderful memories indeed. Of the flowers....not the milking chores. so much. LOL
Well, I think I best get back to making Valentines. But this was a fun break and I am thinking the Trumpet Song stamp will be a stamp that will be used many times as well.
You have a great week now and thanks for all the great comments.
God bless,
Verna

Beautiful! I love morning glories and it would be neat to see some in this fab color!
So gorgeous, Verna! Love these colours!
Verna, I can't believe that you have a Double D stamp. I had a collection of about 100 of them, until Hurricane Katrina took them. I used to buy them so cheap at an outside craft festival in Big Falls, MN when we lived in Northern Minnesota. I can remember vividly going to his tented stand every summer and loading up with stamps. The summer before he sold the company he was almost giving them away. We got to know him well. He would always yell out, "The more you buy; the more you save" and he was right. I'm so glad you brought that fun memory back for me. He was a character. This is a lovely card you made.
Absolutely gorgeous Verna.
Great what you can achieve with the MISTI isn't it and this is a fabulous card, so colourful. Thanks so much for sharing with us at Penny Black & More. Lynn x DT
