Happy first day of Spring. In honor of the occasion I tried to make a spring like card design and I used something new for me called Chalkboard Embossing. You can view the post at the Crop Stop Blog to see how it is done. Very easy I might add. All you need is black card stock, an embossing folder and some white chalk. Luckily I had a stash of white chalk which had been in my craft drawer for a long time and today I finally found a purpose for it other than writing on a chalk board. Yippee!
Nothing says Spring like a spray of flowers. For my flowers and sentiment I chose stamps from the Gina K. Designs Warm Spring Wishes set. They were all fussy cut and that took me quite some time to do but I am glad I did them this way as it was easy to build my design later on. Both the chalkboard panel and the light green panel were die cut using the Cottage Cutz Double Stitched Rectangle set.
I placed all of the layers and flowers on a base card of white card stock. The card was then finished by adding some black rhinestones.
Other supplies used were my Scor Pal, Scor Tape and a Cuttlebug embossing folder called Floral Fantasy.
This will be entered into the Stamp TV Mix It Up Monday Challenge as well as the Crop Stop Linky Party Challenge #26.
Well, we had another gorgeous day but it sounds like we are going into a cooler mode again for our weather and another chance of rain or snow. But then that is the way Spring begins. It is always a mix of weather so that is no surprise to me.
Well, take care and thanks for the visit and comments. Happy Spring to all of you as well.
God bless,
Verna

Oh I love how you used the chalkboard embossing technique!! You created a beautiful spring card -- love the bright green! Thanks so much for linking up to the Cropstop challenge - it's always a pleasure to see your talent appear in the gallery!
Oh that technique is beautiful, love the look! Your beautiful flowers scream Spring! Hope Mother Nature heard it! FAB card!
Fussy cut is an understatement. You are right though, makes layout come together. Spring is in the air.
Such a brilliant, happy BEAUTIFUL spring time card, Miss Verna! The colors are striking against the black, and the chalkboard looks incredible with the delicate outlines on your embossed panel. Your fussy cutting is impeccable! I can see why it took a little time - but the effect is amazing. Gorgeously done, V! xo
More power to you fussy cutting all these images! Pretty bright flowers :)
How fun, leave it to you to try a new technique. This is just an awesome look, and I love all your fussy cut flowers too. What a sweet spring card!!!
Beautiful card, Verna! Love the bright & cheery design!
Pretty!
Isn't it fun when we hoard something (like chalk) that turns out to be useful again!??! Love this card, Verna - it's gorgeous! Thanks for sharing...I will have to try this technique!
Love the brightness of it for spring. Really pops.
This card just stands there and says, "Welcome to Spring". All the colors you used in the card stand out so beautifully on top of your black card stock and leave it to you to find a neat chalk technique. I like it; it gives your background a special touch by accenting the raised images in it.
I have typed this comment three different times for this card and they won't publish it and they won't put 'Reply' under any of my comments like they do for the other people. I can't figure it out!! You must have to have a blog to get 'Reply' after your comment.
