Trees

I remembered the poem I learned in grade school called Trees and so I decided with that inspiration I would make a card. The poem goes like this.

TREES

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast.

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray.

A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair.

Upon whose bosom snow has lain,
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

On ivory card stock I stamped the scene with my Versamark black ink pad. I then colored the tree  scene in with Tombow markers, but the sky was done by sponging on inks. This image comes from the Gina K. Designs Farm Life stamp set by Theresa Momber. The sentiment is from a Gina K. Designs set called Sympathy Duo. Once I had my scene complete I then die cut it with a Cottage Cutz Double Stitched Rectangle set. As the die had a nice double stitched border I decided it did not need to be layered further.

Well, this was a fun way to spend a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We have reached the 60 degree above zero mark today. But not surprising at all, the wind is traveling at a pretty good speed. Even this morning when we went to church it was 40 degrees.
