Face To The Sun

I found a little break this afternoon and made a quick little summer scene card which I think is not only representative of summer but also is a card of encouragement too. I am entering this in the Cheery Lynn Designs Blog Challenge for this week. The theme is Summer Fun and that is also the theme for the Mix It Up Monday challenge at Stamp TV too. So I will enter it there as well.

I sponged on inks to make the background and then stamped the girl on the bicycle in black ink. She is an image from the Face To The Sun duo set by Gina K. Designs.  I layered the card panel onto black card stock before I applied it to the A2 size base card.

But before I added it to the base I took the Cheery Lynn Designs B117S Mini Fanciful Flourish Left and divided it up so that all along the left edge it resembled a vine crawling up the side. I also added a flourish to the inside to tie it to the outside design.

The grandsons are here and are helping Grandpa combine wheat. I think overall they are enjoying it. The little one ended up taking a nap the first day. So far today, I don't know if that happened again or not,  but hubby said that first day they had not even made a round in the field and he was out like a light. Oh, well, an afternoon nap is good too!

Ruth's Card

Ruth Auerilo who is the mother of Gina at Gina K. Designs recently underwent surgery so I made this card for her.

I am not sure I pulled it off but I wanted the look of second generation stamping (I think that is the term) so I stamped the images from the Gina K. Designs Stippled Nature set and then took a fine line black pen and drew around them. I did not do it accurately on purpose as I wanted that outline to be a little off set.

The background of the card is a piece of card stock that I mopped up the residue on my craft mat after working with the Color Bursts. I thought all those mixtures of color were too pretty to waste.

Well, it has been a good last few days this week. Hubby passed his stress test, I got two thumbs  up on the ulcer on the leg as it made a great leap in healing this last week and with the humidity down it seems my computer is working like a charm. Also today I downloaded Windows 10 and I am exploring things with that and trying to figure out where things are and exactly how to work with it.

I am not sure if I will get much work done for cards this next week as the Munchkins might be coming again for a few days. So I will be more or less cooking so they can munch, munch, munch. LOL They do have good appetites.

Hanging Ornaments

A quick card with the Hanging Ornaments die from Memory Box using dark blue Stardream card stock. I used the negative circles as extra embellishment.

I am entering this in the Mod Squad Blog Challenge for this week. I love this die.

Wedding Hearts

Internet has worked for five minutes now so I am going to hurry as fast as I can do it and put up a post. This card is for the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 195-Anything Goes.

I used a Marvy Heart punch for the groom heart. I fussy cut out a bowtie for the groom.  For the bride I used Cheery Lynn Designs DL128 Two of Hearts and added some fingernail decal stickers for the bridal bouquet and for the groom's boutineere. Don't know how to spell that. LOL

My panel layers are made using the Cheery Lynn Designs ST 014 Rectangle Stacking Nesting Dies. In the corners I used the Cheery Lynn Designs B162 Lace Corner Deco B set.

The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Always and Forever duo set.

Thanks for looking and sorry about any mistakes as this is a hurried up thing due to internet being "in and out". But it took me a long time anyway as I had outages often. Good thing I saved my post a lot.

Internet Issues

I think I may have to get another provider for internet as it is not working anymore for us. So I am really bummed and not sure what will happen as I don't have a lot of options in our area. So please excuse me if you don't see any more posts for awhile. The signal is too weak to give us good service.
Thanks for looking at my things and I don't now when or if I will be able to resume blogging or emailing people. My signal is in and out so perhaps I might get a message out occasionally until we find someone new.

Bleeding Tissue Paper Art

When the Mix It Up Monday challenge at Stamp TV  this week called for using tissue paper I just had to dig out my stash of bleeding tissue paper and make a simple scene with it. And, beware, my hands match the project. So if you try it and want to stay clean, wear some gloves. But I know that after several washing of dishes by hand, mine will gradually lose their colorful appearance. LOL

Here are the supplies needed to do this project. You need watercolor paper, bleeding tissue and water mainly. Next you let it dry or if you are like me take a heat gun to it to hurry the process. Then use stamps to finish your card and add any extra embellishments or layers you wish.

I used Tim Holtz water color paper for my front panel. I placed my Spectra bleeding tissue over it and spritzed lots of water to get the color out of the paper. The end results are shown in this next photo.

To get good impressions with the stamps from the Gina K. Designs The Wetlands set illustrated by Theresa Momber I used my MISTI so that I could repeat the stamping with black ink until I attained a deep vivid impression.

Once I had the images stamped on the way I wanted them I proceeded to take first a black fine BIC pen and added my water lines. Also along those same lines I took a white gel pen to further enhance the look of water.

Next I took a water brush and dipped it in bleach and put some clouds in the upper part to make it look like a sky.

My final step was to layer this scene onto a black card stock panel before I added it to the A2 size white card base.

I really enjoyed the making of this card and I hope you can understand how it was done. Really it is quite easy to do. So I hope you can try it yourself sometime. Not all tissue paper bleeds, so it has to be the type that will work this way.

Always & Forever

Another wedding card and this time I kinda/sorta followed the sketch given for the Die-Namites July Sketch & Dare Challenge.  At least I did get the Dare part in and since I am not a great doodler it is a really simple one.

The bridal couple and the sentiment are from the Gina K. Designs Always & Forever duo set. And that elegant lace frame is from the Gina K. Designs Frame & Flowers 1 set. I used a new Gina K. Designs ink called Wisteria on the frame and also used the new card stock called Wisteria too. The sentiment and bridal couple were stamped in Gina K. Designs Edible Eggplant dye ink.

I incorporated the Dare by drawing little hearts and coloring them in random colors using my Spectrum Noir alcohol pens. I also used the alcohol pens on the Die-Namites Rose Bush DN 1021 die which was cut out in white first and then blended with the inks to create my color choices.

I had a fairly busy day today but still managed to get some crafty time in. And it was a lovely day as it was cooler and not such high humidity.
