Heart Card

There is a contest at Cheery Lynn Designs to use hearts in your designs. Of course, Cheery Lynn Dies are to be used too. This is the card I made for that challenge.

My base card is a red and white duplex card stock. Over the red surface I added the Cheery Lynn French Lattice Small Frame. Well, in the cutting process my metal plate slipped and the very last part of the frame did not cut. But it looked to be salvageable to me so I left that part of the frame intact and proceeded to add it to the surface of my base card, Immediately I could vision bling placed down in that area so that was what I did.

My hearts are a duo set called the Two of Hearts. This is one of my favorite hearts from the Cheery Lynn Designs line. I layered the small red ones onto larger white ones before adding them to my card base. They were popped up.

In the upper left corner I added my red and white gingham bow made with my Craft-Dee BowZ bow maker. And, the sentiment is from the Gina K. Designs Stately Flowers 6 set.

I have had so much fun working with the dies these past few days and I can see myself doing many more too. These were all dies I had in my own stash this time.

I have been using those small micro makeup brushes and some Ranger Multi Medium Matte to adhere my dies. I am sure there are other glues that would work, but using those micro applicators is awesome for this. I really recommend them.

Well, thanks again for stopping by and for all the lovely comments.

God Bless,
Verna

Well, this card certainly is Cheery! I could not help myself. I think that the border that did not cut out, worked very well. Love these hearts. Glad your having fun with the valentines.

I have been doing the same thing with the Multi Mat Medium and micro brushes. Works beautifully, and I don't have to worry about anything coming off in the mail. I cannot believe it's time to make Valentines - geesh. We just got done with Christmas...lol. I love this card, especially the black and red together with just a little pop of white here and there. Great use of those dies, and I love the lattice background. Really nice!!!

Great color combination; it really pops! And that "oops" border at the bottom looks fantastic and like you planned it all along. Well done!
