Sorry I have not posted much this week but I have been having cookie baking sessions most days and that in turn helped to warm up the house a bit due to extra Fall like temperatures that we have been experiencing over night. Perfect temps in the day time but by morning I am shivering. So I figured getting a good supply of cookies ready for when we all gather together for the wedding might not be a bad idea since our whole family will be in the same hotel in St. Paul, MN. It will be a family reunion as well as a vacation too! And the grandkids all love cookies!
But last week I started on a card and did finally find time to finish it last night. I am entering this into the Cheery Lynn Designs Blog Challenge for this week. The theme is Anything Goes.
For my card I went with a masculine theme and used images from the Kitchen Sink Stamps line. Don't you just love that old classic pickup truck? I know I was attracted to it as soon as I saw it and I also am a tree lover so had to have that set to help created my scene. And the sentiment is from the classic truck set too.
I went to the Kitchen Sink Stamps forum and downloaded a sheet which explained how to add some of the layers to the pickup truck. Until I read that I was a bit confused, so if you have any issues on how to use a stamp set from them, check out the forum. You have to become a member but that is okay as it means you get lots of advice not only from the owners but also from other stampers.
My gravel road was done with Spectrum Noir Aqua markers with a lighter brown and then dabbled some darker pebbles on it with a deeper brown tones. I also used a green to add a light edging of grass along the road. I sponged in the sky with a light blue dye ink.
After I had my scene completed I layered it to a piece of red card stock. Then I die cut the Cheery Lynn A2 Frame Die using duplex card stock. I glued my frame to the base card of white card stock. The duplex blue card stock worked great as one side of the card stock was a darker blue and the other was a lighter blue. So with that advantage I decided to add back in some of the lighter blue negative pieces to bring my frame a more interesting look. The last thing I did for my card design was to also put a single layer of the frame design along the bottom of my card inside as that tied the front and inside together.
My only Cheery Lynn die used was:
FRM 114 Small Window, an A2 Frame Die.
The Kitchen Sink Stamps sets used are:
Multi Step "Classic Old Truck" LRGC 039
Multi Step"Pine Trees" LRGC 034
Well, that will more than likely do me for this week as far as blogging goes. I am busy getting things lined up for the wedding which will be coming up soon.
Have a great rest of the week and thanks for stopping by and commenting.
God bless,
Verna

Love the scene you created with the truck at the front. that stam has so much detail. Love what you did with it.
I'm back!............. Beautiful stamping! What a fabulous masculine card~
Love your old fashioned truck, it's stunning in red! Your background is beautiful too!
Wonderful truck image! But it is your very talented coloring skills which bring it to life and make it a work of art. Loving the frame, Verna! It's a great card! I marvel at your low temperatures. We are still in the 90s here, but I noticed beginning tomorrow that the next 10 days we'll only be in the upper 80s. Cookies sound yummy, and for such a happy occasion!
love it!
Oh my goodness, your card looks amazing! LOVE that vintage pickup.
What a great guy card, Verna, love how you have pieced some of the frame bits back in. Fabulous scene, wonderfully colored. Good luck and thanks for joining in on the fun at Cheery Lynn Designs challenge.
What a realistic scene! I love that truck and the trees. They have such depth but also highlights. So cool. I don't have any of their stamps but did read they have tutorials to help out :) I would need all the help I could get! Great card Verna!
