Well, it is a busy, busy week as the garden is once again bringing forth goodies so I am trying to keep ahead of the game. Froze beans today and have some tomatoes that need attention as well. And, we enjoyed our first taste of watermelon this past week and there will be more getting ripe as the days go by. So we are being blessed. On that note, I thought I should make a Thanksgiving card. With September looming on the horizon it did indeed seem fitting to make something more for the Autumn season.
I had not played with the Bister water color granules for quite some time and I do love how they make such fantastic backgrounds for the Autumn season, so my first inclination was to make up a few Sunday afternoon. I let them dry overnight except one I had to quick dry with the heat gun so I could begin creating my card.
I cut out a Cheery Lynn Die frame from Gina K. Designs Cranberry Tart to lay over that panel. Over that I then placed the panel with the sunflower and sentiment which are from Gina K. Designs Always Autumn set. I colored the sunflower with Aqua Watercolor markers from Spectrum Noir. Before adding it to the die cut panel though I layered it onto the same Cranberry Tart card stock. All of this was then added to my base card of white card stock.
My card design was finished by adding some Ranger Rouge Liquid Pearls on the sunflower panel and adding various Autumn shades of die cut leaves from Cheery Lynn Designs. In the upper corner I added a yellow gingham ribbon which was layered onto some Cranberry Tart card stock. And, I also added some die cut leaves to that.
Cheery Lynn Dies used:
B178 Flourish Leaf Strip
FRM113 Large Window A2 Frame Die
I am entering this in the Cheery Lynn Designs blog challenge for this week and also in the Mix It Up Monday challenge at Stamp TV.
Well, that will be my creative item for the week. It is an extra busy time for us besides working with the gardening as I am packing up our suit cases for our travel to attend our daughter's wedding soon. We are really looking forward to that and having a great visit with all of our immediate family who will be in attendance.
Hopefully, you will be having a great week too and thanks so much for stopping in and checking out what I was up to over the weekend.
God bless,
Verna

Your harvest sounds wonderful, Verna! Our summer has been very rainy and humid, so the garden here is a bust. Love the Bisters background with the CL die cut. Great card design! Hopefully you'll get the canning and freezing done a little at a time. XO

Your card is amazing. Almost as amazing as I imagine your garden to be. Love fresh veggies - you are a lucky gal. And I know how time consuming harvesting and putting up all that produce can be, but also so satisfying. Love your Bister background and all your gorgeous fall colors, well done!
