Final Coffee Card

I got a  new stamp set in the mail today and saw it had some coffee elements on it so of course I had to make a quick card design for the 2020 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop using some of the images on it. It is a collaboration of several companies who went together to create this stamp set called Thinking of You by The Stamping Village. For each stamp set sold $5.00 will be given to Save the Children organization. They are on the front lines supporting children during the COVID-19 battle, delivering meals to families that struggle with food insecurity. Companies in this collaboration are Altenew, Avery Elle, Concord & 9th, Dare 2 B Artzy, Gina K. Designs, Hero Arts, Lawn Fawn, LDR Creative,  Picket Fence Studios, Pink & Main, Pink Fresh Studio and Studio Katia.

Sorry about the crooked line of the fingernail decals in the center. Arthritic hands don't work so well these days. I also added more of them individually to the front of the card. I used an old decorative scissors to cut out the panel and then placed it on a Recollections Printed Card Stock base. I colored in the images with a few Tombows that still had some inkiness. Most of mine are dried up now. The coffee designs were from Picket Fence Studios and the sentiment was from Avery Elle.

Thanks for the visit and to all of you who came by I wish you good health and happiness.

God bless,
Verna

Peony Song

Before I get too involved with today's projects I wanted to post this entry I have for the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge-Anything Goes with the option of Gingham or Plaid. I chose to use some plaid with my design this time.

I used a combination of  Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol and Bic markers to color the design. But I also brushed some ink around the edges of the scene too. The House Mouse Designs image I chose is called Peony Song. The pattern paper, card stock and inks are from Gina K. Designs.

Thanks for the visit and I hope your day is off to a great start. We had an electrical outage so now a lot of the appliances that have clocks have to be corrected. I always hate when that happens. LOL But it is not a big thing but mainly an annoyance.

Until next time take care and God bless,
Verna

#5 Coffee for Dad

This might be my last post for the coffee hop this week as I have a lot of things I need to work on around the house in preparation for the coming weekend.  But I wanted to share this card I made for the 2020 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog hop at least. The logo information is along my side bar in case you want to submit a card. There are lots of prizes and this time you can use a coffee, tea, hot cocoa design for any season. So that might help promote more entries.

For this card I used a Creative Expressions embossing folder called Coffee Stains but instead of embossing with it I just inked it up and placed the design onto some Gina K. Designs Sandy Beach card stock. It worked like a stamp this way. I used Gina K. Designs Warm Cocoa ink too. The strip of  Gina K. Designs Blue Raspberry card stock was a perfect addition I thought to add some bright color to the sentiment which is also from Gina K. Designs. I punched out the scalloped circle to frame that wood chip with the cup design. The  wood chip and embossing folder were won from the last hop so there you see one can get some lovely prizes.

I hope you are having a great week and I thank you so much for stopping to visit.

God bless,
Verna

Coffee Card #4

This is my fourth card I made for the 2020 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. This one is done strictly using pattern papers. So it is not one of my normal things to do and I must tell you since it was out of my crafting zone I did struggle a bit with the design. But I hope I pulled it off. I also made it one of the new craze slim line cards. The photo is not the best either so  please forgive that.

The papers used for the card are from the Echo Park Coffee Paper pad. I also added some bling to the card which is some I won in a prize years ago. It is from Want 2 Scrap. I don't know if they are still in business or not but I thought the bling added a lot to the design. The card base is Gina K. Designs Dusty Pink.

Well, I hope you are having fun with the hop. For more information check out the website info along the side bar where you can see the dates for entering. There are lots of prizes to be given out and you could be a lucky winner.

Until next time please stay well and have a fun time.

May 2020 Rudolph Days Challenge

I used a tree I got in a prize package to create this Christmas scene. It was die cut or silhouette cut from plaid card stock and I had to think a long time on how to make use of it. Well I finally decided to just make it into a scene and the end result was this. This is my entry for the May 2020 Rudolph Days Challenge.

I used blending brushes to add some color to the dusty peach ribbed card stock card base and also added some color to the plaid tree in a light green. I took some scraps of Ivory card stock and made some snow banks for the background of the tree. The last things I did then was to add some sequins to the tree and also some snowflake sequins in the sky area. The sentiment was one from a stamp set I won a few years back and it is from the Art-C brand.

Very non-traditional in design but I really still like it.  I hope you like it as well. And have a great Memorial Day! Those normal events for this day are on hold here so we are having a really quiet one.

Take care everyone!

God bless,
Verna

Coffee Card #3

JessicaLynnOriginals offered a free coffee gnome digital and that was the image used for the focal part of my card. I  printed him out and then built a scene around him. I like it a lot and was very happy with the design.  So this is my third entry into the 2020 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

I colored the gnome with my  Bic markers and also added some grass along the bottom.  The sentiment is one of Gina K. Designs. And, the Leafy Frame is from Kat Scrappiness.

Thanks for visiting and if you want to join in on the fun there is information on the sidebar of my blog  post. There are lots of prizes to be given out.

Until next time God bless,
Verna

Tea Card #2 For Coffee Hop

This time I used a darling House Mouse design called Feeling Rosy to  make a card for the 2020 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers  Blog Hop.

I colored the image with my Bic markers and then with a Marvy-Uchida large circle punch I  punched out the main focal image and also two black circles. I arranged them onto a piece of Gina K. Designs Blue Raspberry card stock and then with a white paint pen I added some dots to the card front. The  sentiment is also one of Gina K. Designs. Inside I added a sheet of white card stock so I can write a message.

The information for the hop is posted on my side bar at the top. You might want to consider joining in as there are lots of prizes again being offered.

I am also entering in the Double D Challenge for this time.

I wish all of you a wonderful weekend. So until next time, stay well and take care.

God bless,
Verna

Coffee Card #1

Time once again for the 2020 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. I don't know if I will make very many cards but at least I have one to enter. You have this week to join in and the information is along the right side of my blog.

I downloaded the free Coffee Bloom print offered by Stamplorations and then printed it out. I made a  background for it by using an Artplorations stencil called Rubber Bands and my blending brushes. Then I stamped several sentiments from the Stamplorations Coffee Happy stamp set.  After I had the coffee cup colored I fussy cut it out and then popped it up onto the card base with the stenciled design. The last element added was some purple flower sequins.

I am also entering this to the Stamplorations Never Ending Anything Goes challenge.

Have a great weekend everyone. We went and  put flowers on the graves tonight and then did a drive through at Dairy Queen afterwards for our supper. That was a nice outing. Other then that I don't have any plans for Memorial Day. Most of the services will be online I think.

Oh, and we got our stimulus money in the form of a debit card. One card for the two of us and since we wanted to divide it up we took the option of going to the bank and cashing it in. We put half of it  into our individual checking accounts. This way I know that my share will be used for groceries and other items. His will be used for things he normally pays for.

Take care and God bless,
Verna

Pansy Sympathy Card

For this card I used the pre-colored pitcher of pansies and used it for a sympathy card. This digital design is from the Jan's Digi Pansies for Mom stamp set. The sentiment is also one of Jan's Digitals and is from the Church Sympathy set. I die cut the design out with a Gina Marie Designs Loopy Ovals set. And after placing all on a white card base I finished the card by adding three rhinestone gems.

I am always needing more sympathy cards so when I saw this  pansy design I knew I would be using it for making beautiful cards to bring comfort to someone during their time of mourning.

I am entering this into Jan's Digi May Challenge-Anything Goes.

Well, time to call it a day. I had a busy one and very productive as to card making. I hope all of you had a great day as well.

God bless,
Verna

Clean and Simple Christmas Card

The past few days I have been putting in a lot more effort into making Christmas cards. This is the set I worked on today. As you can see it is a very CAS design but I feel it fully expresses the real reason for the season. I hope you like it.

The stamps used for this card are from the Joy Clair Away in a Manger stamp set. It was one of the first sets I ordered from that line and I still love it to this day. The images and sentiment were stamped with Gina K. Designs Obsidian Amalgam ink. I colored the Christ Child with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. Then I finished by using my blending brushes and adding color around the star. The last thing I did was to stamp a verse inside the card so now it is ready for sending come this Christmas season.

Over the next few weeks I intend to work on more Christmas designs and will share them with you occasionally. I am cutting down on my submissions to challenges too. I may only enter once instead of multiple times. I find that I now have so many things that at times it can be a bit overwhelming. And that is not a good thing for letting the muse do it's work. I never thought I would say that but even though I have given lots of stamps and things to others I still find I have more then I need. And I have so many things that have not been shown any love  too.

And, the fact that my income is less and does not go as far plays into the factor too. Many things I used to buy for the home and health use are hard to find now and if I do they are more spendy. So far we have not gotten the government stimulus but I think maybe by the first of June we may have it as well. That will help with food and other needs. We are not starving at all, so don't think that. But personal things like toilet paper and over the counter type medicines and supplements are scarce.

Well, see you next time. Take care and stay well.

God bless,
Verna

Vase of Peonies

Today I used some freebie digitals from Beccy's Place and made a card using the sketch that is shown on Beccy's Place May Challenge. I chose to color my own peonies for this card but if one wanted there was a colored version offered too.

The strip of gingham paper is also one of  Beccy's freebies and is from the Birthday Bear set. I followed the sketch and added my layers to match it. I also added the ribbon, gems and sentiment according to the sketch too.

Thanks for visiting. I hope all is well with you.

God bless,
Verna

Card with Envelope

Here is a card with a matching envelope I made this afternoon with the Gina K. Designs Vine & Butterflies stamp set. It is one of my favorites.

I have always been a lover of daisies and butterflies so it was a "given" that I would want to own this set. I stamped the images with Obsibian Amalgam ink from Gina K. Designs and for the card I colored it with Prismacolors and Gamsol except for some brushing of ink around the edges. This was layered to white and then to a base card of Dusty Rose. The last thing added was some gems that in real life pick up lots of colors from it's surroundings....sort of irridescent. The envelope was a marbled pink and white so I chose to use that one to stamp another black outlined daisy on to tie the envelope and card together.

Thanks for visiting me on this cloudy and dreary day. I hope all is well with you. We are still fine here.

Take care and God bless,
Verna

Waiting For Santa

While waiting for Santa they soon fell asleep so when Santa arrived they heard not a peep!

That is the message I am trying to convey with this little scene I made with the House Mouse Candle Light Vigil stamp set. I colored them with Prismacolor and Gamsol and then placed them among the evergreens surrounding the edge of the card. I had to fussy cut a bit of the evergreens to give the illusion of them being nestled more among them.

The pattern paper is from the Noel Paper Pad from American Crafts. I thought that beautiful paper was the perfect thing to use with them.

I am entering this in the HMFMC #316-Always Anything Goes/optional theme "Pastel Colors". I am not using the optional theme.

I hope all of you had a great Mother's Day weekend. We had a wonderful one with the visit of our youngest grandchildren. And, they were not shy about giving hugs especially Jack who is the youngest. We helped Anna with some school work and while she did that Jack had some crayons and a coloring book to use. So he thought he was doing school work too. They also got lots of tractor rides and spent lots of time swinging with the swing set that we bought years ago for our own kids to play on. And, they helped Grandpa feed the kitties in the barn too. I guess when they got home their Mom said they were both so tuckered out from all the fun they  had.

Then later in the weekend we also heard from all our other children and their families. I was remembered with a hydrangea bush we can plant out, also two hanging pots with geraniums in them and some beautiful cards.

Well until next time please take care. And, now we have three cases in our county so we will be extra cautious when going out among people. I hope your week is off to a great start.

God bless,
Verna

Cowslip For Mother

I have all the cards sent out for Mother's Day this year to my daughters and daughter-in-law but I made one more to wish all of you mothers a wonderful day as well. I chose to use the Power Poppy Cowslip from the Spring Borders One digital stamp set. I computer generated the sentiment.

Once I had it printed out I then colored the design with my Zig Clean Color markers. They are a water based marker with little brushes on the ends.  I did my best to try and control the coloring so that I did not got too much outside the lines. These are a bit tricky for me with my arthritic hands but I must say I am very pleased with the look so I am content. I also brushed a bit of blue around the design too. I hope you like it and that everyone will have a great Sunday when all Moms are to be celebrated.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
Mod Squad Blog Challenge-A Day for Mothers
Double D Challenge-Lavenders~Lilac~Purple Challenge

I don't know if I will be posting anymore this week. I am baby sitting with my youngest grandkids Friday and I might have some guests pop in over the weekend too so I am in cleaning mode again. We will try to do distancing visiting but in person this time. Maybe if it is not raining we will have a  picnic with chairs wide spread apart. We will figure something out at any rate. So in the meantime take care.

God bless,
Verna

Sea Life Birthday

Happy Sunday to you! I hope it is a lovely one and that the sun is shining bright for you. I took the opportunity this afternoon to make a card which I thought would work for a masculine birthday design. It was a die I had not used before from Impression Obsession which worked perfectly for the Dies R Us Challenge #144-Seas the Day.

I used a bunch of scraps to make my card except for the card base. I used the Impression Obsession Sea Life Frame die and also a sentiment from the Impression Obsession Life Stuff Sentiments stamp set. With a Crafters Companion glue runner I added all the elements to the card and I also used a white paint pen and a black fine tip marker to add some eyes to the fish.

Thanks for visiting and I hope all is well with each of you.

God bless,
Verna
