Members of the Artstystamper Facebook page are randomly given some free digis and this week the Four Leaves digi was our gift. I love leaves so I could not wait to try and make a card using the leaves. I also grabbed a sentiment from the Artsystamper Koi Pond digital set to use with my card.
I arranged the leaves in a pattern and then also popped up a couple extra leaf clusters on my design. . I colored them with my Sharpies and then took my blending brushes and added some light blue around them. I placed this onto a turquoise card base and finished by adding a few gold sequins to the card.
That was fun and thanks for visiting. It appears we may be getting some storms later so I better get this posted.
God bless,
Verna
This blog is about my card making, but now and then I might add a few other things as well. Please read the Privacy Policy at the top of my blog. I would be honored though if you would like to CASE, Like or Pin them and give me the credit.

Independence Day Card
Last week I finished up my cards for the Fourth of July and got them sent off. However, I had not blogged about any so I thought today if the internet holds out long enough I would share one I made using the Jan's Digital set called Independence Day Friends. I will enter this into Jan's Digi June 2020 Challenge. The theme is always Anything Goes.
The first thing I did was to put some fireworks in the background. I then grabbed Eunice and Gertrude who were sitting at a picnic table holding their flags. But it occurred to me that they might be a little hungry so I debated between serving them hamburgers or hotdogs. Finally I decided that the hotdog was a favorite of mine for the Fourth so I served them both a plate of goodies and some beverage. The final addition to my card was to add the sentiment Independence Day along the bottom. For this card I used all pre-colored images so we shall give Jan the credit for the beautiful coloring.
So glad the internet is holding up yet so I think I can get this posted. Thanks for the visits and wonderful comments.

June Rudolph Days
Sorry I have been not around but life has been busy with company starting on Father's Day weekend and then again Tuesday and now this morning two of our grandsons arrived to spend a couple days. They want to get some fishing in with Grandpa. The summer is flying by fast and when the oldest one works so many days it is hard for him to get away to visit.
So not a lot of time for crafting lately but however, I did manage to get a couple cards done. See I had to play with a new die cutting machine I got from Altenew called Mini Blossom and a new Altenew stamp and die set combo called Peaceful Wreath. The dies are smaller ones and that is what my Mini Blossom is to be used for. This way I don't have to drag out the big die cutting machine which works well yet but is still more cumbersome. This is a small machine and sets on the table without taking up a lot of space. It was a free shipping promotion at Altenew so I decided I needed to treat myself to a birthday present. I sure do like it too. Anyway, here are the cards I made with these sets.
I really like this done up in a wreath. The stamp set is a multi-layering one. And I love the sentiments that came with the stamp set too. Now below is the second CAS card I made.
For this one I used the individual holly leaves and berries and the same sentiment as on the first card. And again these are multi-layering images. I think these stamps and dies will be getting lots of use.
I am entering this into the June Rudolph Days Challenge.
Thanks for the visit and I hope all is going well with you too. I will be having company over the Fourth as well so hopefully, we can all stay well and be okay. We are resisting hugging though which I so miss. So until next time, take care.
God bless,
Verna

Another Masculine Card
This time my masculine card used a digital stamp as well as an old wood mounted rubber stamp. So I made a card for the Artsystamper Challenge #18-Vacation. The card I made represents a simple road trip type of vacation which was mainly the kind I grew up taking with my parents and sisters. Most of the time they were only a couple days. And, when I married a farmer I knew that would be the same type of trips we would take as well. The only big trip we took was the one to Japan to visit our son and family which was a ten day one. Otherwise we only left for a couple days. After all we were dairy farmers and we could not afford to have someone come in and milk the cows for too many days. But we still had fun! So I hope you enjoy my take on a vacation!
The tree is one of my all time favorites and it was made by A Stamp in the Hand company. I was afraid it would not stamp very good but luckily it still worked. I colored direct to the stamp with Arteza water color brush pens, huffed on it and made the impression. And, then later added more color with more ink using the same pens. I filled in some blue for the sky with my blending brushes and then framed the background with a layer of blue card stock. I added that to a kraft card base and then popped up the card from the Artsystamper digital set called Cruzin. The last thing added was some gems.
Have a good evening. Supper is almost done so I best be running along.
God bless,
Verna

Masculine Card
I saw on Beccy's Place blog that she was offering some free digitals again so I grabbed them and created this card which I will be entering in the Beccy's Place June Challenge. It makes for a great masculine card. Why don't you hop on over and grab those free digis and join in.
Part of the challenge was a bingo grid where one was to choose a line across or diagonal to create your design. I chose to use 3 colors, ribbon or lace and a digi for mine.

The sentiment for the card was taken from another digital set from Beccy's Place called Fallow Fields. I so often grab a sentiment from that set for my cards and this one is one of my favorites.
Thanks so much for the visit and I hope your week is off to a great start.

Thanks Card
Hi everyone. My in ter net is so ver y sl ow! I hope you get the drift from that sentence so I hope it stays on so I can post this card I made for the Altenew Educators "Giving Thanks" Blog Hop & Linky Party + Giveaway. The theme is to make a card of thanks. So that is what I did.
I stamped around the outside of the white card base with the open hydrangea using black ink to create some design along the edges. The focal panel was done by taking white card stock and then adding two kinds of Washi tape for the background. I did the layered stamping for the hydrangea and then masked off the blossoms so I could add the layered leaves. The sentiment was stamped on white in black ink and then fussy cut out and layered to some gold mirror card stock. The last thing added was some black gems with hints of gold glitter in them.
Supplies used:
Altenew Gold Foil Washi Tape
Altenew Deco Lines Washi Tape
Altenew Garden Hydrangea Stamp Set
Gina K. Designs inks and card stock
Crafter's Companion Matt Mirror card stock
Doodlebug Designs Inc. Beetle Black Glitter Gems
Scotch Double Stick Photo Tape
Crafter's Companion Glue Runner
Thanks always for the wonderful visits and comments. I hope all have a great weekend.
God bless,
Verna

Get Well Card
Today was my turn to work with digitals again and this time I created a simple Get Well card using the Blossom from the Artsystamper Digital set called Lucky Oxalis. I computer generated the sentiment and used some pattern paper from Gina K. Designs.
After I had arranged the blossoms to my liking I then printed them out on regular computer paper and with my Zig pens I colored them in. What took the longest was all the fussy cutting around the blossoms. Once I had that done I took the pattern paper and added that to a white card base. Then I was ready to glue the blossom design on. I also took and used a marker to color card stock to match the blossoms and used that to layer the sentiment on which was also printed on plain computer paper.
And that completed my card.
I am entering this in the Artsystamper Challenge #17 Black & White with 1 color.
The internet is still spotty at times and especially in the evening when the wind goes down and the dew sets in. So I have to work around that time and try to get my computer projects done before that happens. But if there is nothing in the evening good on TV I am reading books. So I still find a way to keep my evenings busy.
Thanks for the visit and until next time God bless,
Verna

Water Color Birthday Scene
Today I worked with a Gina K. Designs stamp set called Framescape Simply Spring and some Artzea Water Color Brush pens. I placed the frame stamp on to my MISTI and then took the Artzea pens and colored direct to the stamped design. Then with the water brush in the pen set I went over it to create the more water colored look. I cut the frame down a bit and then layered it to some black card stock from Gina K. Design. I placed this onto a white card base and then finished it by stamping the sentiment from that stamp set with Gina K. Design Obsidian Amalgam ink.
Besides the basic tree and grass scene provided I added the boy and the dog and the tulips. I thought they provided a nice touch.
I am entering this is the Mod Squad Challenge which calls for water color stamping.
Thanks for the visit and so far my internet is behaving itself. I hope it continues to do that now.
Take care and until next time God bless,
Verna

Washi Tape Scraps
Here is a card using scraps of leftover wide washi tape which I cut into thinner strips to create a background. I then added an image from Jan's Digital Stamps called #1 Dad to create a simple card for Father's Day.
I used the already colored image from the digital set and fussy cut it out. I then placed it on a scrap of black card stock and then cut a thin border of black. After I had the washi tape strips on the white card base I then simply added this image to the front of it. Very easy card. The washi tape used is Altenew Watercolor Strokes. It is about a 2 1/2 inch wide tape but I cut the leftovers from another card into strips for this card.
I am entering this in the following:
Jan's Digital June Challenge-Anything Goes
Double D Challenge-Use Your Scraps
Internet is still on yet so I am hoping to get this posted now. Thanks for the visits and all the wonderful comments you leave me. Until next time take care and stay healthy.

Scrap Quilts
Hi Everyone. I am back at least today. It seems the whole neighborhood was having internet issues and the explanation for it was that the atmosphere in our area was preventing the satellite signal to get through. Those days there was no wind hardly at all and today it is really windy. I don't know if that makes a difference or not but I am online today. Whew! We even cut down a tree thinking that was in the way of the signal. But since I have service today I will take this opportunity to show you some artwork I did while it was down. I also am reading a book. So it was some constructive idle time at least.
I used three scraps for the quilt. One of pattern paper and two of card stock. My quilt die is from MFT Die-Namics. And, the deer head is from Cutplorations. All the card stock and pattern paper as well as the sentiment are from Gina K. Designs. The glitter paper was from my stash of scraps.
I am entering this in the Double D Challenge-Use Your Scraps.
I apologize for not commenting on your posts but once I got the internet working again I looked at the messages and blog posts but did not take the time to comment. I was in a hurry as I was not sure if the signal would last and I had to clear my inbox. I even had ordered some digital stamp sets and it took me three days to download them to my computer. My signal was too weak and too slow to do it. But today I got that done as well. So I am feeling so much happier.
My heart goes out to our nation and world too with all the violence of late. I hope we can find healing now and also peace. My sympathy to the family of George Floyd too.
Take care everyone and if I am missing again for a long spell no doubt it may be to internet issues again. But as long as I can keep in touch I will.
God bless,
Verna

Notice
Due to internet issues I will not be commenting or posting unless something changes. So sorry about that. The trees are so thick that unless it is a windy day I cannot get service from the satellite dish.
Take care in the meantime. And don't reply back to this post as it clogs up my inbox. I just wanted to let you know why I am missing in action. Hope the internet works long enough to get this published.
God bless,
Verna
