More Email Info

I am changing to a new email since the current one will be running out for which we have been paying to use. We don't want to continue to pay so much a month anymore and so therefore we are going to a different type of email system. And, in the Fall or Winter we will be on a fibre optic system so we would have to make a change anyway. This way it will already be done and less of a hassle.

So if you want my new email address send an email to the old one which is: arlinverna at tnics dot com

Thanks. Verna

Testing

Hey everyone! I have a new email and I am doing a test post to see if I get notification. By the way if you want my new email then contact me at the old one as I still have that in force yet too. But hopefully, not for long.

May Rudolph Days

I am so glad I was early making this card for the May Rudolph Days challenge. I have had very little time to make cards this past week so it was a "must" that I do it ahead of time. So for your viewing pleasure here is my entry.

I used the images and sentiment from the Stamplorations Christmas Baubles set. And, I colored the images in with Sakura Glitter pens. I hope the photo shows off the glittery look. It is a clean and simple design but I thought it quite attractive after I had it all colored.

I hope your week is going well. I have been busy and with many breaks for rest I am gradually getting quite a bit accomplished in the crafting area. I am reorganizing so that in the future I won't be able to find anything. Hahaaa! At any rate that is usually the case. And, I find I have so much things I have not even used so I am trying not to be tempted to buy more. But I did buy a bunch of storage items so that the organization could be more handy I hope.

Well, everyone take care and thanks for all the visits. I so appreciate them.

God bless,  Verna

December-Holly

I made a card by using some of the leftovers I had in my stash. I saw that it fit the Double D Challenge-July-December Flowers so I am entering this in the line up.

I was cleaning up a lot of my card making area and came across this darling image from Power Poppy called Candy Cane Classic. I colored most of it with my Bics but for the ribbon I colored it with Sakura glitter pens I found when clearing out things in my area. So I used that for the ribbon and also added a bit to the sentiment which was from Stamplorations. A left over layer of mirror card stock from Crafter's Companion fit in quite well too. And, all was added to a white card base.

Not only have I been cleaning but I also put up a bunch of rhubarb for the freezer. I still have more of that to do. And, a couple days I just took it easy. But this week back to it before company arrives on Thursday. I hope all of you are having a wonderful week and take care. I appreciate the visits too.

God bless, Verna

Pink Daisy

So sorry that I have been missing in action but Monday night I got sick and just today (Friday) feel pretty much normal again. I had a stomach flu which was just like I used to get way back in the day. I am glad with some meds I have it under control now. Hopefully, I lost a bit of weight so that there is a plus side to it. Hahaa!

Anyway since I feel better I have made a card with a pink daisy on it and the use of the written word in the background. This card will be entered in the Mod Squad Challenge-Use a book page or written word. My written word is an insert from our church bulletin.

I used all Gina K. Designs products except for the inks which were a mix of several companies. GKD products used were: Elegant Oval die, Layered Daisies and Die set, and the Foliage stencil. Also all the cardstock was from Gina K. Designs. I put all the layers together and then finished the card by adding three light green rhinestones from my stash.

Thanks for the visit and I may not be blogging or creating cards quite as often for the rest of May. I need to get busy and do some cleaning. It takes me a long time as I have to rest so often so if I am missing that will be most likely the reason why. In the meantime, take care.

God bless, Verna

Carnation For Mom

Happy Mother's Day! This card is for all the moms, grandmothers, aunts, and motherly women of all ages. I hope your having a great day!

For this card I used the carnation from the Multi-Step Carnation stamp set from Kitchen Sink Stamps and also a sentiment from the Hearts and Roses stamp set from Kitchen Sink Stamps.  The dies used are some mini slimline ones from Kat Scrappiness.  I also layered the panel with the carnation on it to some light green cardstock before laying it on the latticed background. The card was finished off with some strips of red rhinestones from my stash.

I am entering this card in the Double D's Challenge-Flowers of the Month-January -June.

And once again I was blessed with some beautiful flowers. This time it was a big bouquet of (you guessed it) carnations. And also included was a bag filled with candy bars. Yummy!

It was another wonderful surprise and those carnations are so beautiful and smell wonderful. I am afraid the carnation on paper does not smell that good though. LOL

I thank all of you for stopping by and I hope your day is a great one.

God bless, Verna

Roses

I played with a layering stamp set from Kitchen Sink Stamps called Hearts & Roses and made a sympathy card to put in my stash so when needed it will be already made. I think it turned out fairly well too.

I wanted them to be a deeper red but apparently the ink pads I chose gave me a lighter version. But even so I love them. Layering stamps sure do give more of a realistic look I think.

I am entering this in the Double D Challenge-Flowers of the Month January -June. I chose the rose because that is my birth month flower.

And speaking of roses I had a delivery by Fed Ex today with a beautiful bouquet of roses and cala lilies from my son and family in Japan. I had to take a photograph so that when they do wilt away I can still see my pretty flowers in the picture I took.

Thanks for visiting. I so appreciate all the comments you leave me. Have a good evening!

Just For Fun

I worked with a digital pattern paper and sentiment from DL.Arts along with a sticker that is sold by Diane too. And this was the card that resulted. Along with some unknown brand dies and card stock it worked into a neat little card.

The gal as the focal image is a sticker. And the Thank You was cut out of another digital set offered by Diane. I had been mulling over in my mind how to use the pattern paper and sticker together and I think this seems to work.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your evening is going great!

Graduation Day

I am so surprised that we have received five graduation announcements. So I had to make a couple more to the three I had made previously. This time I used stamps from a now out of business Sparkle N Sprinkle set called Graduation. I went with the school colors of maroon and gold for this card. I think every year when it comes to graduation time I either use an image or some sentiments from this set. I am so glad I have it in my possession.

It just so happens I had some pattern paper in my stash which was perfect with it. I added that to a white card base. I also used the same shade of ink to stamp the design and then colored it in with the maroon using my Bics. I die cut the panel with a Makers Movement stitched rectangle and then added a layer of maroon before placing it on the main card base.

I think that might be the last graduation card this year but one never knows for sure I guess. Like I said I was so surprised we had five announcements sent our way. Unfortunately we cannot go to all of the celebrations but at least we have cards to send them. And I have not heard of any weddings coming up but then I could be surprised there too!

Thanks for the visit and wonderful comments you leave too. I always love to hear what you have to say about my cards.

Take care and God bless, Verna

Mega Flowers Birthday

Another challenge called for the Perfectly Pantone colors of yellow and gray again so this time I used the Gina K. Designs Mega Flowers stencil and the Gina K. Designs Wishes stamp and die set. I blended the shades of yellow with my brushes on the stenciled design and then took a gray marker to add some dots to the centers of each flower. I also used a marker to add color to a separation in the stenciled design where I added the sentiment from the Wishes set. I drew the attention more to the sentiment by using some rhinestones for a border. And, the big Wishes die was stamped in gray and then die cut out and placed below the rest of the sentiment. All was layered to a piece of slate card stock and then to a white card base.

I chose to make a regular slimline design. My stencil was not long enough to fit the whole panel so that was where I got the idea to add the sentiment over the area that was left blank.

Well, it is a chilly day again. We had one day of 85+ temps and not it is in the 60's again. Such is Spring in South Dakota I guess!

Take care and see you next time!

God bless, Verna
