Another Digital Layering Card

This time I took the bough from the Jan's Digital set called Toyland Bear and used it to layer it over and over to create a wreath. I used the colored version. I also added a sentiment from that same digital set too. This was fun to do and surprisingly did not take quite as long to do as I thought it would. Maybe I am catching on. Hahaa!

I added a ribbon bow to the top and also some of the same ribbon between the sentiment and the wreath design. Another of the verses on the set is inside on a piece of white card stock.

I am entering this in Jan's Digi Challenge #2-Anything Goes.

I am as ready for the Thanksgiving holiday as I intend to be. Hubby helped with job too! He is a sweetie! He vacuumed for me. First guests are arriving tomorrow afternoon.

I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and safe traveling if you are on the road.

God bless,

November Rudolph Days

Just a quick post to show my card I did for the November Rudolph Days Challenge. Once again I used the digital Poinsettia set from Artsystamper Digis. I am certainly getting good mileage from that beautiful set of stamps and papers.

I found some leftovers that worked great with the beautiful paper and poinsettia. I also added some gems to the circle die cut as well as by the sentiment. Inside I added a white piece of paper to write my message.

Thanks for visiting and I wish all of you a wonderful Thanksgiving. There is stormy weather predicted so I don't know if our planned weekend Thanksgiving celebration will develop or not but because I will have the turkey thawed I will still have to roast it. Lots of food to freeze in case they can come another weekend. At any rate, I wish all of you safe travels and that you will be so blessed this Thanksgiving holiday!

Hugs,
Verna

Digital Layering Attempt

I love the traditional colors mostly for Christmas cards and so today I spent some time at the computer trying to figure out how to layer one digi stamp upon another and I think I made great progress. I used the colored images from the Artsystamper Digital Poinsettia stamp set and two freebies that were offered by Artstystamper called pine cone and pine needles if you were a member of the Facebook group. So those were the images I worked with besides a sentiment which I hand stamped from Impression Obsession.

I think I figured out quite a few things when it comes to layering digitally. At any rate, I am very happy with the design. My only glitch was that I wanted to make a copy of it also on the same page and for some reason I could not do that. But the little card stock that was left over was used mostly by me regardless. I combined this sentiment with some green mirror card stock from Crafter's Companion and then added a few red rhinestones. The sentiment was printed with Gina K. Designs Red Velvet ink.

I am entering this in the Double D Challenge.

Well, I have dishes to do now. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a wonderful day!

God bless,

Turkey Shaker Card

Okay, right off the bat I will confess I love shaker cards but am a poor maker of them. But I had this leftover negative of the turkey card I had made earlier in the week so I decided it looked like it could be a shaker one. And that big opening took a lot of shaker elements to make it even appear when it was standing upright so I took another photo showing more of the sequins, beads and other things that were added.

I could not find a frame that would fit that odd size shaker opening so I instead just added some leaves and some metal sticker decor. The pattern paper is some I had in my stash for years so I have no idea which company made it.

The supplies  used are:
Turkey Die-Cheery Lynn Designs
Filigree Leaf Die, card stock and sentiment-Gina K. Designs
Shaker Filler-Mix of  Doodles Paper Playground Sparkle Blends
Scotch Double Stick Photo Tape
Mark Richards Nailhead Stickers

I am entering this in the following challenges:
Mod Squad Challenge-Thanks or Thankful
Dies R Us Challenge #133-Give Thanks and/or Turkey
Artsystamper Challenge-Give Thanks

I am glad I made another Thanksgiving card as I ran short so this will be going out in the mail really soon. Thanks for visiting and I may be missing in action a lot from now on but I wanted to get a few more cards done. If time permits in the next couple weeks I will try to make and post some things I have done ahead of time. Take care until then.

Digital Thank You Cards

What with the arthritis in my hands affecting me I still was able to create some cards using digital stamp sets. I figured I would be needing some thank you cards so I will show a couple I made today.

The first one is a Fall Note digital stamp set from Jan's Digital Stamps. It was such a pretty design and even though I still don't know how to digitally add the sentiment I still opted to do it with a fussy cut method and the use of a Word doc. I hope you like this design. The image was pre-colored but I did add some Wink of Stella to give it a bit of sparkle and I also distressed the edges of the scalloped die cut. And, that is an unknown scalloped die but it is one of my favorites. The last step was to add it to the light purple card base.

I am entering this in the following:
Jan's Digital Stamps Challenge #2-Anything Goes

The next thank you card I made is with a Christmas theme. I mainly like to go with more traditional designs for Christmas and that was also what I used for this thank you card.  I used the same digital sentiment from Jan's Digital Stamps but combined it with a poinsettia from Artsystampers Digitals.

I  cut the poinsettia from some pattern paper I had printed out earlier in the season and added that below the big Thank You sentiment. I also die cut this panel with the scalloped unknown die too. After placing it on a red card base I then added some red and green rhinestone gems to finish the card.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
Artsystampers Digitals Challenge #4-Give Thanks
Double D's Challenge-What Is Your Christmas Style

Thanks for your wonderful comments. I guess since we are to have snow and rain mix that may be explaining why my hands and other joints hurt more today. Tis' the season for weather like that! I am still glad I can still be creative. And, I am pleased with my afternoon work too,

Take care and God bless,
Verna

Turkey Thanksgiving Card

I was gone for a few days so I got behind in everything this week but I did manage to take some leftovers from another card and with that I added a die cut turkey to make a simple Thanksgiving card. I am entering this in the Dies R Us Challenge #133-Give Thanks and/or Turkey. I chose to use the turkey as well as a Thanksgiving sentiment.

The turkey die is from Cheery Lynn Designs. And the sentiment is from Gina K. Designs. I tried to embellish the turkey with markers and I also wanted sort of a shadow look for the sentiment. I may not have succeeded exactly as I had it in my mind as for some reasons my hands were more shaky. In fact, it has been an achy day for me everywhere on my body so perhaps I should have just left it as it came from the die. But what is done, is done. I hope you don't think it too terrible. I also added some gems to sort of match the plaid paper.

Well, have a good evening. I got a late start but I am slowly getting all my Thanksgiving cards ready to mail. Then it is cleaning and baking for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. So I may be missing in action a lot in the next week or so.

Until next time God bless you,
Verna

Thankful!

Here is a card design of thanks that I made today. I am entering this in the current Impression Obsession Challenge-So Thankful. This is a card that expresses how I feel about all my blog followers. You do bless me!

I used a orange card base and then to that I added the plaid paper from my stash. I don't recall who made it. The wheat were then added and the last thing I did was to add the sentiments and some brown rhinestone gems.

Impression Obsession products used:
Wheat DIE 085-X
Sentiments from from Mini Messages 3 CL653

Other products:
Gina K. Designs Card Stock, Connect Glue and Ink
Crafters Companion Dotted Glue Runner

I really like how the wheat looks against the plaid. It was another fun and quick card to make. Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend!

God bless,

Heads Up!

Christina Hor reported that the Winter Cards for Little Hearts Drive was a huge success and now they will be able to give cards to three hospitals instead of two. I think that is awesome news.

She also said the next drive will be the January 2020 "Heart-Themed Collection" so if you want to get a head start on making cards for that drive you can get the information for it at the Cards For Little Hearts website.

This is a joy to make heart cards for kids with heart disease knowing that it might make their days a little brighter while they are in the hospital. I know I will try my best to add a few cards for the collection. I hope many of you will join me too! 💗

God bless,
Verna

One, Two, Three!

I created a card today for the Creative Confetti Challenge-Triple Play. And, I went with my usual CAS design style but I still love that it has such a festive feeling to the card. I hope you like it too!

Again I implemented the pattern paper to help enhance my design inside and out. And, I chose the holly leaves from the Carta Bella Jingle All The Way stamp set. I stamped the holly three times on white card stock and then I added some glitter paper punched circles for the berries. I added that stamped white strip to the pattern paper before placing it on the base card. The card was completed  by adding the white insert to the inside along with a strip of the red gingham paper. The card stock, inks and pattern paper are all from Gina K. Designs.

Thanks for stopping in and I wish you a wonderful day. I have to get back to baking again. I think this is my last day of baking as I think I have a nice supply for the church fund raiser now. See you next time!

God bless,
Verna

Winter Wonderland

This evening I made a quick card using some Sparkle N Sprinkle (no longer in business) stamp sets which were designed by Jan Mahew to make a simple winter scene. I am entering this in Jan's Digi Challenge #1-Anything Goes. I made one similar to this before but this time I did not frame it but instead it is a no layer card design.

I just love the simplicity of this scene and it depicts the beauty of the winter season with all the white snow laden trees and ground. So far we have not had that much snow....just a dusting. But I am okay with that as I can always get my snow fix by using this stamp set. I used a green Sharpie to color the trees and then I took a white paint pen and enhanced the snow on the trees where I had gotten blue onto the snow when I made the sky with blending brushes.

Sets used for this set are Sleigh Ride and Tree Scene.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you are having a great evening too.

Surprise, Surprise!

That was what I got when I opened up and started reading my recent Holiday issue of Rubberstampmadness. When I turned to Page 27 I was so shocked to see an old submission of mine being published. So since for me it is a blast to the past I thought I would share the card with you here. I don't even have those stamps anymore. They were cute though!

The images are all from Posh Impressions. They are no longer in business but I do believe some of their images are still available at Judikins.

Well, thanks for looking and sharing in my big surprise!

God bless,
Verna

Twofer Challenge #22-With a Twist

Before I start a week of baking for a church fund raiser I decided to make my Twofers for Darnell's Twofer Challenge. This time there is a twist as we can make two cards for the same occasion if we so desire and since I am working mainly on Christmas designs I went that route. So here is my November Twofers. We still have to use the same die, stencil or stamp though with the holiday greenery theme.

The red and white design uses all products from Heartfelt Creations. The dies used are Holly Berry and Sun Kissed Fleur Dies. The sentiment is from the Holly Berry Stamp set.  And the die to frame the sentiment is an unbranded one. I used a punch to make the berries for the holly branches. And the red glitter paper is from Stampin' Up! All other card stock and inks are from Gina K. Designs.

This red and white card I am also entering into the Mod Squad Challenge which calls for red and white only.

Again I used the Holly Berry die from Heartfelt Creations but this time the pattern paper, sentiment and card stock were all from Gina K. Designs.  And again I punched out some berries with the glitter paper.

Well, we  have had a snowy afternoon with a few flakes falling as well as the temperatures falling. Ahhh! Tis' the season I guess.

Well, thanks for visiting and for your comments. Until next time have a great life!

God bless,
Verna

Red and White-That's It!

The title of my post is the challenge this time at the Mod Squad Challenge. So I had to make a card to fit the theme and I chose to do another little scene.

All stamps are from the Gina K. Designs Christmas Wishes set except for the snowman which is from the Season's Greetings set. The inks and card stock are from Gina K. Designs and the die used is an unknown brand.

I added more color with the blending brushes and then I stamped the sentiment onto white card stock with red. The whole card was assembled with a Crafter's Companion glue runner.

Thanks for visiting. I wish  you a great weekend.

God bless,
Verna

Final Fall Coffee Card

Well I have had so much fun creating cards for the 2019 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and after making this one I will cease for now until Spring. But this is one hop I love to take part in and I hope many of you got enjoyment from the hop and from seeing my card creations. So with no further ado, here is my card.

Once again I chose to use the free digi set that was offered to all for the coffee hop from Jessica Lynn Originals Designs. It is a lovely set and if you pop into their website you might find it and see all three images included.

For this one I decided to make it a Fall card with the pretty leaf adornment. So with the cup design and the leaves I added them to a Word doc. and then proceeded to color them with my Bic markers. After I had the designs colored I cut them out with my scissors. To the cup I added a bit of distressing with my blending brushes as well as some distressing around the edge of the pattern paper from Gina K. Designs. The center band on the cup is from the same pattern paper.

Oh, the purple frame was die cut with a My Favorite Things die from some paper my son and daughter-in-law brought me from Japan. It is such fragile paper so it was added to the card but ended up being sort of crooked or out of whack. LOL But I left it that way regardless as I know it would have torn if I had attempted to remove it and try again. The paper has a silky feel to it.

And the sentiment is one from Unity Stamps which I have used many times as I love those three words on cards of Thanksgiving.

Well, thanks so very much to all who have stopped to visit and leave me comments. They mean the world to me. Take care everyone and have a wonderful Fall and Winter.

God bless,
Verna

#11 Java Fox

Here is another entry into the 2019 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Hop which features the Java Fox digi from Craftin Desert Divas which sadly to say is no longer in business. So I am glad I acquired this cutie before that happened. Edited: I forgot to say I made the pattern paper with a stencil from The Greetery which was supposed to look like knitting.

It is a good thing he is dressed warm too as we woke up around six this morning to a temperature of 10 above. Too ccccold for this time of year I say. I colored him with Bic markers and then added some strips of pattern paper that I had stamped for a previous project. The leaves are from Cheery Lynn Designs.

Thanks for visiting and stay warm.

God bless,
Verna

#10 Neutral Thanksgiving

This is my tenth card for the 2019 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and I used the beautiful free digital from Stamplorations for this card. I think it is an amazing digi and I computer generated a sentiment to go with it.

I hope you love that image as much as I do. I was going for the whiter pumpkins so I hope I pulled it off. I used a combination of markers, brushing on of inks and a paint pen to make the card.

I am also entering this in the following:

Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Monochromatic Christmas Scene

This card I made for the Artstystamper Digital Challenge #3-Monochromatic. I had a little old fashioned sleigh scene I have been wanting to do for a long time so I decided to use the stamps for that which are from the Heartfelt Creations Snow Kissed Spruce stamp set and make the card. I also used a stencil from The Greetery to add some snowflakes. And, with blending brushes from Picket Fence Studios I added some extra color. The inks and card stock from Gina K. Designs are White and Turquoise Sea.

I also added more snowflakes with the stamps from the set on the white card base. I thought it was a good way to showcase the focal design.

Well. that will do me for today. I hope your day is going great. And, thanks for visiting.

God bless,
Verna

#9 Jill Girl

I made another card for the 2019 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop using the stamp set Jill Girl from Picket Fence Studios, a snowflake stencil from The Greetery and a sentiment from Unity Stamps.

I used a white card base and then added the royal blue paper to the front. Next I took the stencil and with Gina K. Designs white ink added the snowflakes using blending brushes from the Picket Fence Studios. On another piece of white card stock I stamped Jill Girl and then colored her with Bic markers. After I had cut her out I glued her to the card front. The sentiment was stamped with Gina K. Designs Obsidian Amalgam ink and then I added that to finish the card. And none of my stamped designs would be very good if it were not for the Misti. I love that tool.

There is still time to enter some cards into the lineup. Make any type of card as long as you use a tea, coffee or hot cocoa theme in it. Check out the info in the link provided and also along the side bar of my blog post.

Take care and have a good day. Thanks for the visits.

God bless,
Verna

Playing With Digis

I am sure you recall I said I was not that great at using digis but last week just for fun I did some experimenting with Paint 3-D and made the background for this Christmas card using the Toyland Bear set from Jan's Digital Stamp Shop. Now forgive me if my background isn't too great but this is my first rodeo more or less with trying to do the layering with a computer. But for a first time I am feeling pretty confident I might be able to do it again if I can remember how I did it in the first place. LOL

The images come pre-colored or in the black open version but for this card I chose to use the pre-colored designs. Once I had my background made with the one pine bough repeated I then used the Paint 3-D to add a computer generated sentiment over it. I layered this design onto red and white card stock layers and then after that I fussy cut the bear and toys out and added them at the bottom.

I am entering this in Jan's Digi Stamps Challenge #1-Anything Goes Jan's Digi Stamps. I hope all of you with more experience then I will forgive my feeble effort to do a layered computer generation. And, my printer is getting low on ink so the printing was not that great either. But I do feel that perhaps there is room for digitals in my crafting life now.

Thanks for visiting and I love to see your opinion.

God bless,
Verna

#8 Shaped Cup Card

I acquired some time ago a die in the shape of a cup from Picket Fence Studios and with that die I have made a Christmas card. I chose to use pattern papers from the Noel paper pad from American Crafts and along with some gems, glitter and glue I made my design. This is my 8th entry in the 2019 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

The big poinsettia on the cup was cut out from another piece of pattern paper as was the trim along the bottom. I thought the combination of traditional Christmas colors was a great choice. The glitter was added with the aid of Connect Glue from Gina K. Designs. The glitter is some from Sparkle N Sprinkle which is no longer in business. And the gems are unknown.

I hope many of you are having fun doing the hop. I know I hop and check out the cards others have done and then I take a break and work up a card design or check my email. Oh, and of course, I still have to cook and do laundry and other household chores. I am glad I no longer have a job in town though as then I know I would not be able to keep up. If you want to know more about the hop just click on the link where I have at the top of the post and it will take you to the site where you can add your entries or visit and see what others have done. And the cards are on an Anything Goes basis as long as it includes either coffee, tea or hot cocoa. Perhaps hot cider might work too.

Take care and have a great rest of the day! Thanks for visiting.

God bless,
Verna

#7 Pumpkin Spice Latte

I was so lucky recently to be a winner of a wonderful stamp set from Stampendous called Pumpkin Latte so that is the set I used to make this entry into the 2019 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

You can read the dates and website information on the side of my blog where I placed a badge about the hop. I hope more of you can join in on the fun and this year it is an Anything Goes as long as you use coffee, tea or hot cocoa in your card. But now here is the card I made.

I colored the cup with my Bic markers and then put it aside until I had added a layer of pattern paper to an Ivory card base. I also took Ivory card stock and stamped more designs from the stamp set on it along with the sentiment. The swirly designs were inked up with a rainbow pad of Autumn colors. I took a Martha Stewart punch from my stash and made the edging design on both top and bottom. Then all that was left was to take my Crafters Companion Glue Runner and assemble everything to the card.

The pattern paper is some I bought years ago when a store went out of business and I got every sheet of it that was left. It works so well for Fall card designs.

Thanks so much to all who are visiting and leaving such wonderful comments. I wish all of you a wonderful Fall morning.

God bless,
Verna

#6 Blessings

My sixth card for the 2019 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop is one that I adore too. And, here I go bragging again. But it turned out so much better then I had imagined that I can't help but love it. I hope you like it too. I used all Stamplorations stamps except for the background die which was one from Impression Obsession.

I pre-colored my white card stock with fall colors and then die cut it with the Impression Obsession Lg. Flourish Background die. I stamped the sentiments and images with Gina K. Designs Obsidian Amalgam ink. The cup and basket of goodies were colored with my Bic markers. I then cut them out and all were placed onto a black card stock base. I also added a liner inside the card so I could add a message.

I am also entering this in the Dies R Us Challenge #132-Trees and/or Leaves.

Well happy Sunday to all of you and I will be back again tomorrow with some more coffee inspiration. You can see more of the information about the hop on my side bar with the badge I added.

God bless,
Verna

#5 Coffee Is Calling

Some weeks ago I acquired some coffee card making products at a company called The Greetery and these dies and stamps are what I have used on this card I made. All the inks and card stock are from Gina K. Designs. I also used Crafters Companion Glue tape to fastened the items to the card. So this is entry #5 for me in the 2019 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

The photo below shows the sentiment and some close ups of the details on the card.

The logo on the side bar gives the date and website in case you want to join in on the fun. And this year it is an Anything Goes as long as it contains a coffee, tea or hot cocoa theme. It does not have to be winter or fall related necessarily. Thanks for visiting and I hope your Sunday is off to a good start.

God bless,
Verna

Skates and Cocoa #4

Once again I have chosen hot cocoa to go with some ice skates to create a holiday/winter card for the 2019 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Hop. I hope you like my design which I admit I am pretty proud of so here with no further ado is my card.

I took a navy/white duplex card stock for my card base. Then I added some die cut squares of beautiful snowflake pattern paper. At the top I added my cup and my sentiment and on the bottom I added the ice skates design.

You would think this card would not take long to create but in fact it did take longer then I had figured. You see the ice skates are from a Stampendous Dreamweaver die called Ice Skates. I put the stencil and my card stock through my die cut machine and embossed the design. Then while the stencil was still in place I added color to the pair. What really took the time was that I went and fussy cut the whole design out and then placed it on my card. But I love it! This will not be a card I will do often because of the time factor involved. But I am glad at least I tried it this way.

Supplies used:
Stampendous Dreamweaver Ice Skates metal stencil
Gina K. Designs pattern paper, dies and inks
Stamplorations Snow Cozy stamp set
Crafters Companion Dotted Glue Runner

Oh, you know I am having fun again with the hop. I hope you can join in too. The information is in the logo along the side of my blog.

Take care everyone and have a great weekend.

God bless,
Verna

Hot Cocoa Card #3

Since images using hot cocoa are acceptable in the 2019 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Hop I decided to use a little cutie I had purchased and quite frankly, forgot I owned even until I ran across it in my box of coffee themed supplies. Am I ever glad I found him as he is adorable.

I used the Stampingbella stamp set called The Penguin and the Marshmallow. After I had colored him in with my Bic markers I brushed some blue color around him. I added the sentiment and then die cut it with a Gina Marie Die. I covered my card base with some pattern paper from Gina K. Designs and over the top of that paper I then placed my little penguin.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope many of you will take time to enjoy the current coffee hop as well.  The dates and web address are on the logo on my side bar. I will be back later with more coffee, tea or hot cocoa goodies.

God bless,
Verna

Coffee Card #2

I am sharing the card I made this afternoon using a free digital stamp set from Jessica Lynn Original Designs. The cup and the pretty evergreen arrangement on the cup are from that set. This card is my second one entered into the 2019 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

Other supplies  used:
Pattern Paper-Ultimate Crafts
Snowflakes, card stock and ink-Gina K. Designs
Sentiment-A Jillian Vance Design
Crafters Companion Glue Runner
Bic Alcohol Markers

Thanks for visiting and if you want that free digital set check it out on the coffee hop at Jessica Lynn Originals Designs. You will find lots of inspiration on the hop too and if you enter a card or two you have chances of winning some awesome prizes. The side bar shows the dates of the hop.

Have a good evening now. I will see you later in the next few days.

Verna

2019 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

It's that time again for the 2019 Fall and Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and I do have a few cards that I will be sharing off and on this week. Here is my first one. I hope you like it. The logo is off to my side bar with the dates in case you want to join in on the fun!

I thought a football themed card would work well and for us in our area it can often be a cold evening attending a game and hot coffee or hot cocoa is always welcomed. The helmet die is one from Cheery Lynn Designs and the cup and sentiment are from Stamplorations. The sentiment on the helmet is from Gina K. Designs. I added all these elements together with some pattern paper I found online from Scrapbook Customs. And any card stock used is from Gina K. Designs.

We are having a brief warm up here now with daytime temps reaching the mid forties. Our lowest temp so far was 15 degrees above which was yesterday. So believe me hot cocoa is a good thing now.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for visiting.

God bless,
Verna
