March Rudolph Days

I got a new stamp set in the mail from Stamplorations called Christmas Baubles and on this set was some pretty holly so I used that design and a sentiment from the set to make a CAS mini slimline Christmas card. I am entering this in the March Rudolph Days challenge which calls for Christmas designs.

Needless to say I love holly on Christmas cards. Now this image could work alone the way I used it or it could be added as a corner accent for a larger type of card. I know I will use this often. I used my brushes to add some yellow around the focal images and sentiment and then layered it to red card stock before placing it on the white card base.

Thanks for the visit. I will be making lots more Christmas designs from now on I hope so that I will have a good amount on hand when the season arrives.

Have a great weekend and God bless, Verna

Easter Cards

Good morning! Yesterday I made my Easter cards to send out to the shut-ins and a few family members. I used the digital daffodil from the Artsystamper Early Spring Beauty set and also then hand stamped a scripture cross sentiment to go with it. That is from a stamp set from Sweet 'N Sassy called Scripture Crosses. I then brushed on some yellow around the edges and placed it to a base card to finish the design. I made eight cards.

Later today I will be writing messages in them and getting them sent in the mail. So that is my plan for the day. I hope your day is off to a great start too.

God bless, Verna

No. 6 Coffee Thank You

Once again I used the Artsystamper digital Coffee Break pattern paper pack and stamps from the Artsystamper Coffee And...set. I made it a card of thanks and I dedicate this to all the wonderful people behind the scenes of the 2021 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Hop. They do amazing things to set this whole event up and I for one really appreciate their efforts. The event will go through Friday so if you want you can still get in on the fun before the deadline.  There are so many sponsors too who indeed need our thanks too. So this card is for all involved in putting on this hop.

The little swirly die cut used on the top and bottom are from the Spellbinder Graceful Corners One set. I only had two of the dies from the set as they were gifted to me and I really like this one for an added embellishment on cards.

I am not sure I will get time to make any more cards for the hop but I must say I have had so much fun and that is a good thing. Great therapy for me. Thanks to all who stopped by and made comments as well.

Take care and God bless, Verna

No. 5 Cowboy Coffee Scene

Well here I am with another coffee design for the 2021 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Hop. This time I made a scene which I think reminded me of the old west when coffee and beans were made over the camp fire. I used an older stamp of mine which is from I Brake for Stamps. I colored it in with my Bics and then used a blending brush to add the sky. Also I used the brush on the bottom of the scene and then with a fine line Bic marker I added some swipes to make it look more like grass.  I layered a piece of wood grain pattern paper to a white card base and then layered the scene to black before adding it to the card.

I am also entering this in the Double D's Challenge-Skies.

Thanks for the visit and I hope you can get some designs into the coffee challenge too. Lots of wonderful prizes will be given and you may be one of the lucky ones. Check the link above and also there is information on my sidebar.

Take care and God bless, Verna

No. 4 Bunny Joy

Over at Sweet n' Sassy I saw this cute digi called Bunny Joy and so I purchased it for some darling card making. I think it is so sweet! I printed out the digi and then colored it with my Bics. A little blue added with my blending brushes made the bunny digi stand out more I thought. Then the sentiment from the set I cut out with a Marvy punch. This will be entered in the 2021 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Hop.

I hope  you are not getting bored with my coffee cards. But no matter......I'm not getting bored making them. I am having fun! If you want to join in you can check out the info on my sidebar or click on the link above. Great prizes being offered too!

Until next time, take care and God bless, Verna

No. 3 Coffee and Flipflops

I found this digital design at Stamplorations called Coffee and Flipflops and thought it a perfect image to use on a mini slimline card for the 2021 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Hop. And I was right as I was able to size it to fit with my computer program. I hope you think so too! You could size it for a regurlar size slimline as well or even add it to any size card you want.

I printed out the design and then colored it with Bic markers. I brushed on some blue ink around the sky line and then computer generated a sentiment for it. My card measures 3 x 6 when folded. It is a good size to add a gift card or place a gift of money inside it. The card stock used is from Gina K. Designs.

I hope you get a chance to join in on the fun at the coffee hop. The information is on my side bar of my blog. And the link above gives you information as well. Thanks for stopping by.

Spring Coffee Card #2

Friday I made another coffee card for the 2021 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Hop and for this one I used digital stamps from a set by Artsystamper. I used the Artsystamper Coffee And digital set and also the Coffee Break Paper Pack set. I opted to use the pre-colored images.

Using my program I first added the diner's coffee cup and then took the donuts digi and placed it next to it with a slight overlap. The sentiment is also from Artsystamper. To complete the design I brushed on some blue color to try to match the color of the pattern paper I used.

Thanks for the visit and if you want to enter a few cards you can find the information for the Spring/Summer Coffee Hop on the side bar. It can be for any occasion as long as it features coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Lots of prizes are being offered too so go for it!

God bless, Verna

Spring Coffee Card #1

Yes, today is the beginning of the 2021 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Hop and this is the first card I made for it. Not sure I will get too many completed though as I have lots of catching up these days with other things in life. But at least I made one. I hope you like my mini slimline design.

The pattern papers are from the Echo Park Coffee Paper Pad and the cup is from a Gina K. Designs stamp set called Coffee and it is illustrated by Claire Brennan. The inks used for the cup are all from Gina K. Design. I used Amalgam Obsidian to stamp the cup and inside I used Grass Green and Dusty Rose for the flower. The cup was fussy cut out and then popped up over the floral paper. I thought all those flowers looked like Spring.

If you want to join in on the hop I have the information on my side bar. Lots of prizes are given away too. So you never know.....you might be lucky!

Cowboys at Sunset

My friend Bonnie sent me a public domain digital silhouette design and I used it to make a birthday card. Inside it simply says Happy Birthday. I thought it such a great photo to work with. I used my brushes to add the skyline and then stamped the sentiment which is from Gina K. Designs.

This was so fun and easy to do. I love it. I got a bit heavy with the brushes on one corner but we can pretend they are some clouds. Hahaa!

Have a great weekend. God bless, Verna

May Your Troubles Be Less

I made up a few quick St. Patrick's Day cards for the shut-ins and will try to get them made out yet today so they can go in tomorrow's mail. Apparently my photos don't show the greens matching like I thought they did in person. But at least you get the idea of my design. The background digital paper is from Artsystamper and the digital sentiment is from Verve (retired). My double stitched oval die is from Gina K. Designs. And the darker green paper is from Crafter's Companion and the white is from my stash.

Also here is a reminder that soon the Spring 2021 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop will be soon starting. So if you want a head start on making some cards this is your cue.

I hope your weekend is off to a great start. I have been released from wound care as I am healed. So that means less trips to the hospital wound care unit. I do however still have an appointment with my general physician Monday weather providing. Sounds like a storm moving in Sunday into Monday. Yuck!

Well until next time, take care and God bless, Verna

Spring Birthday

I have so many people I love with Spring birthdays so I decided to make another card using Jan's Digi set called Floral Flourish. This time I used the pre-colored version and added it to an alcohol ink background which I had made years ago and photographed. Little did I know I would use it when making digital stamped creations but I have found it very handy just in case it fits what I am looking for. So I will leave it up to you if this looks okay or not. I debated about it but in the end decided it wasn't too bad. The sentiment on the card is from a Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous set called Crazy Talk. I am entering this in the Jan's Digi Stamps March Challenge-Anything Goes.

Thanks for visiting and today it is cloudy and supposedly by noon it is to be snowing. They predict 5-9 inches of snow and strong wind. So much for Spring! Hahaa! But it is getting closer so hang in there everyone.

Take care and God bless, Verna

Hint of Spring!

The past few days have given us a glimpse of Spring and I love it. For that reason I decided to make a card using Jan's Digital Floral Flourish set. I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils and blended it with Gamsol.  I am entering this card in Jan's Digis March Challenge-Anything Goes.

I blended some blue ink with my brushes around the design to try to make it pop more. For the white Baby's Breath I used a light gray color. It still looked to be white but with a bit more dimension to it I thought. And that sentiment is perfect for this card as it definitely feels like Spring is in the Air!

Thanks for visiting. I am so happy to be back to making more cards and I love to read your comments.

Take care and God bless, Verna

Painted Blooms

This is a card I made earlier in the week and had not posted. I used pre-colored digital images from the Beccy's Place Painted Blooms set which I got on sale. I love this set. And, I used Altenew Brushed Grid Washi tape for the background. This is really wide tape. Also the enamel dots are from Altenew.

The card stock used for this card is all from Gina K. Designs. The big bold Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Sweet 'n Sassy Bold Birthdays set. I have used this set of bold birthday greetings so much and am very pleased with and happy to have it in my stash.

Here is a photo of the inside of the card and as you can see I tied the inside to the outside by adding a little bouquet of flowers to the saying which are also from the same digital set from Beccy's Place.

I am going to enter this in Jan's Digital March Challenge which is Anything Goes.

Well I dinked around with my computer and changed to Edge and I seem to be able to get things to work again. I think it was a glitch with Google Chrome but it seemed cleaning out my cache helped perhaps too. So far today things are fine. And, I could not get my camera to upload photos but today I worked on that problem and I found by shutting down the computer and restarting it seemed to read my camera again too. So I am quite a bit happier and thank the Lord for helping me guess as to what was wrong as it was just guesses on how to fix it without taking it to a computer expert.

I also no longer have the wound vac on and no bandage either, I have one more wound care appointment to make sure things are still going okay and as far as I can tell things are. So that was a blessing too. Also we need to get our second shot for Covid and later in the month I have a check up with my regular doctor. Then as far as I know there is nothing until June when I see the oncologist. So less running to doctors etc. will be a great thing. I hope your weekend is off to a good start as well. Take care everyone and thanks for visiting.

God bless, Verna

Sunrise

I made a card for a couple challenges and now my computer won’t work. So frustrated but hope I can load with iPad. I used Gina K. Designs stamps from the Big Hello set.

I want to enter this in the Mod Squad https://modsquadchallenge.com/beautiful-butterflies/Challenge and the March challenge at Gina K. Designs.
Thanks for bearing with me.
God bless, Verna

Another Mini Slimline

I made another mini slimline card with folded measurements of 3 x 6. I chose to use navy/white duplex paper and on the navy side I added my design.

Supplies used for this card are all from Altenew except for the card stock and the inks. I used the stamp set from Altenew called Beautiful Day for the multi-step flower and the sentiment. The washi tape was from the Altenew Enjoy the Ride Washi Tape Bundle and the little enamel dots were  Altenew Tropical Forest Enamel Dots set.

The card stock was from my own stash and the inks are all from Gina K. Designs.

I was inspired by the photo at the Altenew March Inspiration Challenge shown below. So therefore I am entering this in their challenge. I am also entering it in the Double D Challenge-Book Covers. I decided the washi tape frame looked like one of the book covers only in a more simple form.

Well, that was a fun project! I hope your day was filled with fun too and that you have a great evening!

God bless, Verna

Stamp and Doodle Birthday

Well, since I am in need of lots of birthday cards in March I decided to work on a card I felt would work for any age or gender. It reminds me of a party and even if only a party on a card I think it conveys the atmosphere of a celebration! I used digital stamps from Beccy's Place Hat's Off Set. I printed the outlined party hat and the sentiment onto yellow card stock from Gina K. Designs and from there I added color and doodling with my Bic markers. Once I had the design like I wanted it I then layered it to a base card of Lipstick card stock from Gina K. Designs. Inside I added a sheet of white for the inside sentiment and greeting.

I am entering this in the Double D Challenge-Book Cover. I took my inspiration from the frames on all of the samples in the photo.

And I know I am not a good doodler but I still like how it looks. The doodling was an afterthought when I felt the party hats were too dull all alone.

Well, I hope all of you are having a good week. We are enjoying temperatures in the 50's these last couple days and it sounds like all week will be warm like that. But we won't put our winter coats away yet as the next week is once again cooling off and getting back to more normal temperatures for March. Also some precipitation is predicted too! But we will enjoy it while we can.

Take care and God bless,

Verna
