Inspired By A Song

I heard a song on the radio this morning and it brought back memories of listening to it years ago on the radio. It was one of my favorites so I decided to make a card with that song in mind as it happened to work well with the Creative Confetti Challenge: Inspired by a Song.

I wanted to keep the lyrics of the song in my design so I computer generated them. However, I did not realize how many verses that happened to be so I had to split up the lyrics with half on each side. Then I simply stamped the silhouette image from the no longer in business Sparkle N Sprinkle stamp set called Puddles Stamp Set which was illustrated by Beccy Muir. I cut that stamped image out by hand and put it over the top. And if you want this silhouette stamp set I did see it was included in the digital section at Beccy's Place. The raindrops are from Lindy's Stamp Gang.

Well we are in a big blizzard and the temperature was 30 above at six in the morning and now it is thirteen below zero. The strong winds brought a cold front in from Canada which cooled things off in a big hurry. By noon it was already zero. But at least we are nice and warm in the house and I have no plans to go out at all. In fact, there is a no travel advisory for our county. So if you are experiencing this weather I hope you stay safe and nice and warm too.

God bless,
Verna

Oh yes, that song is now running around in my head - a wonderful pictorial representation of it Verna!!
What a contrast - here where I am we are in drought and i have 'crunchy' lawns!

Great way to lay out the words to the song and then use the rain drops and silhouette images to bring it to life. Nice job! (We're having snow falling here in OH right now and expecting 4-6 inches. But looking out my window it is beautiful....that's because I'm inside).

Love this card. I remember when this song came out. I loved it. I know he didn't write the song but he sure made it a top hit back in the day. I'll be singing this for a while now. He was one of those singers where I could actually understand what he was saying. Some songs I had to guess what the lyrics were. [Bunny]

What a perfect stamp to go with they lyrics. Now I have that song in my head! We did have raindrops yesterday, along with sleet and snow. Not a lot of snow but it was slick. I heard them say on the news we will have -15 degrees soon. Ugh.

Love how you used the printed lyrics as your backdrop for that silhouette image that is perfect for your card.

Stay safe and warm.

What a darling idea to use the song lyrics as a background! I get that song stuck in my head all the time, probably because it rains a lot here in the wintertime. Just love this with the silhouette. I saw your weather on the news. Good time to stay indoors and keep cozy!

Great card, and I love that you hand-typed the song!

Stay safe! Here? We are warmer than norm and actually experiencing flooding nearby, and we're the DESERT!

Such a striking design and the verse with the raindrops look fabulous ...as does the silhouette image x. Hope the horrendous weather has passed Verna x.

This is such a great design! I remember singing that song when I was in a school choir. Some of us had umbrellas, and twirled them around while we were singing.
