Brrrrr! It sure is a cold but very beautiful day as long as you stay inside. The sun is shining but our high today only reached about 12 degrees below zero. So I thought it a good day to make a card.
I had read an article in the March 2014 issue of Scrap & Stamp Arts Magazine about using ribbons to make frames. You can find it on page 26. And, it looked very pretty and surprisingly easy to do too, so I made my first ribbon framed card today.
I used images from Gina K. Designs and followed the Mix It Up Monday challenge at StampTV. I always enjoyed doing the challenges in the past if at all possible and today's challenge was to make a monochromatic card. I chose the color blue and tried to make a more masculine looking card using images from the Gina K. Designs Vertical Greetings & Things set which is illustrated by Theresa Momber. I thought I would share the results with you as well.
This blog is about my card making, but now and then I might add a few other things as well. Please read the Privacy Policy at the top of my blog. Also any handmade items I display are mine exclusively and so therefore do not publish them as your own without my permission. I would be honored though if you would like to CASE, Like or Pin them and give me the credit.

Hurray Verna! Congratulations on your brand new blog - it's beautiful! And so is your blue card! I've never even thought to use ribbon this way == awesome! I don't envy your weather though. Might be easier to buy a fish than to catch one in those temperatures. Love to warm you!!!
Verna, You are doing a great job with your blog. CONGRATULATIONS!! Love this card with the ribbon frame. How clever. We too are in the negative numbers, this morning -17, the high today -7. As for storing your embossing folders, I bought one last year and love it. So easy to find what you are looking for. Keep up the good work on the blog.
Congrats on your new blog! and wishing you a blessed 2014 (-:
love this ribbon frame - I haven't seen this before...will be trying it!
hugs
Linda

Stay warm Verna, those temps are even colder than when we lived in Anchorage Alaska and that was pretty cold. Love your card and that sweet ribbon frame, what a fun and creative idea and leave it up to you to do it. Well done and am loving your blog!
Welcome to blogging!
Very pretty card!
Good job Verna! I have a blog but need to use it lol http://paperfinese.com

Nice card Verna. I love how you framed the image with ribbon.

Well, I am glad they published your article and that way more can see your cool idea with the ribbon.
