Poinsettia on Gingham

Well, after nearly a whole week off from making cards because of the grandsons visiting, I am once again getting my supplies out on the kitchen table and trying to get a bit more crafty. Today I saw some gingham pattern paper and thought how pretty it would be with a new die I purchased recently, so I thought while the idea was fresh in my mind I would work on it.

The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Stately Flowers 5 set which is illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger. I stamped that with black ink on white card stock and then layered it onto red card stock. This was then placed over the red gingham pattern paper panel which is from the Gina K. Designs Cold Snap paper pack.

All the rectangle layers were cut out with a Stacker's Nesting die set from Cheery Lynn Designs called ST 014 Rectangle. It is an A2 size stacker set and I use it a lot.

My poinsettia was cut out of light pink Stardream card stock using the Cheery Lynn Designs C145 Poinsettia set. Using some Momento pink and red inks I lightly sponged on some color to the Stardream card stock before assembling the flower together. I colored the little center pieces with yellow ink.

As extra embellishment behind the poinsettia bloom I added some evergreen boughs from Cheery Lynn Designs called B146 Pine Branches.

Once I had all the layers assembled onto the base card I then added the poinsettia. The finishing touch to the card then was to add a few green rhinestones by the sentiment and to add a strip of red gingham layered onto red card stock inside the card.

I am entering this into the following challenge:

I hope that by using greenery and a poinsettia it will be considered back to nature. At any rate it was fun to do that card.

I am so glad to get a bit of card making in and have another Christmas card done for my holiday giving. Thanks for stopping by and I hope your week will be a wonderful one.

God bless,
Verna

I am sure that you enjoyed your grandson visit, but I am glad that you got your stamping supplies out again. This is so sweet with the red and white and gingham. You have a start on your Christmas cars too. I don't want to think about it yet.

Doesn't that poinsettia look lovely against the gingham background?! I am loving this creation, Verna! It's good to see you getting crafty, although even crafting isn't as much fun as grandsons! Enjoy your day! Hugs, Darnell
