I realize it has been a few days since I posted a card. The first part of the week I was busy with gardening and preserving and then the last part of the week I have been sick. I caught a flu of some sort and had fever, joint aches, severe headache and just wanted to sleep all the time. Well, I am glad to say I am feeling some better but still very weak as it seems I do a little bit and I am all tuckered out again. But at any rate I wanted to share a card I made several weeks ago using all stamp images from Stampscapes. I just love those stamps for nice scene cards.
This was done very quickly by me and used for a sympathy card for a gentleman who had died but who always enjoyed fishing so very much. I thought this was an appropriate card in memory of him. And, I made it a sunset card.
The scene was stamped out with Versafine black ink and then I sponged on colors using Gina K. Designs inks. I used a double stitched Cottage Cutz oval die to cut the scene out and another die from My Favorite Things to make a frame. This panel was then mounted to a white card base.
Well that is all from me this week. I am so far behind on things that it may not be until later in the next week before I post again. And, forgive me if I have not commented on all of your blog posts too. I just have not been very energetic with this bug I caught. At any rate I hope the coming week will be a great one for all of us.
God bless,
Verna

A beautiful card, Verna, a lovely idea to personalise it with the gentleman's hobby. I'm sure it was appreciated by his family.
Hope you'll soon be feeling better. xx
Absolutely stunning Verna and what a perfect way to be reminded of him in such a beautiful way. Amazing sunset sunset.
I knew you were busy with the gardening and canning, Verna. I'm sorry to hear you have been ill and still aren't completely up to snuff. (Hmm, must look that up!) Your sunset fishing scene sympathy card will be treasured by the family in memory of the gentleman who passed. It's beautiful! No worries about visiting. You just take care of yourself and get all better! Hugs, Darnell
What a richly deep card scene! Stampscapes are such a fun product to work with. I love your background colors - beautiful! Please take your time getting well so not to overdo anything. That's how I roll - little bit here and there until some day it's a card! Big hugs, gentle ones!!!
This card is stunning! Sounds like the perfect card to comfort his family! Sorry you were sick, but glad you are feeling better! Be well!
So glad that you are feeling better. This is a busy time of year with all of the canning and gardening that needs to be done. Yet, despite it all, you have made this wonderful scene for the family of a friend.
Great creation and done so well.
This is gorgeous, love the image.xxx
Glad you are finally rallying, it's no fun being sick when you have so much to do. LOVE that you do all that canniing! Come winter I will be envious of all that wonderful goodness you will be enjoying. I really like your card, it's a perfect sympathy card for someone who loved to fish. Your sponging is just outstanding!!!
Glad you are coming around. I have had the "thing" going around for almost 2 weeks now. Headache only 2 days. But boy do I drag LOL.
I love this card and peaceful scene. I love their stamps. Need to dig them out someday
This is so beautiful! So sorry you had to made a sympathy card but what a perfect one for your fisherman friend. Gorgeous!
Verna, this is the perfect card for him; you tied his love for fishing and the family left behind will love that. Your addition of the sunset to the fishing scene is so appropriate for the occasion, also. It is gorgeous and I love those stitched dies.
