I always love Darnell's Twofer Challenge and the one for July is a fun one again. The theme this time is beverage. Well, I did not use the same beverage but I did use the same beverage container so I hope it is acceptable.
My first card I am showing you is a friendship card and in this one I used the beer mug for a vase to hold the poppies. The beer mug is from a set by Repeat Impressions. And, the poppies are from a new Gina K. Designs set I got as an incentive with a qualifying order called Inspiring Poppies. That sentiment was also with the poppy stamp set. I colored the images in with Copic markers and also added a little sponging along the bottom to create a shadow..
The second card is a birthday card and this time I used the beer mug in the right way by trying to have it contain some beer. The frothy topping is also from the same stamp set by Repeat Impressions as is the sentiment. Most of the card was colored with Copics but I did add some sponging on the bottom. The pattern paper is from Gina K. Designs Casual Fridays paper pack. I think this makes a great masculine card design.
Well, that is my Twofers. I am glad I got to participate. The garden is starting to thrive and give off it's goodies so no doubt I will be in the preserving mode quite a bit. At least tomorrow anyway. I hope your week is going well and thanks for visiting.
God bless,
Verna

That is really cool how that stamp can add the frothy top or not! I like both your cards!
Another success! Love that beer one
Two fabulous cards, Verna, perfect for Darnell's Twofer challenge. xx
Two gorgeous cards,love them both.xxx
Wow, Verna, I love what you've done here! Two completely different cards with the same stamp! I can think of a few guys who would love to be getting that birthday beer! Nice job!
what great cards! I like how you have taken the same image and given them completely different looks. super fun! :)
and I am finally getting your blog posts back in my feed again. wooo hooo! :)
I think you've met the 2fer requirements very nicely! Love the look of that cold beer (even though I don't like beer!) the froth makes it look enticing. To my mind, the poppies in the mug, is just the right use for it, and you've got 2 beautifully designed cards! Good for you. TFS & Hugs. Don't work too hard in the garden.
How cool to use your twofer to create a girl, and guy cards. Totally different looks and great design.
Your Twofer is more than acceptable! Yes, it would be difficult if we had to use the same liquid on each card. Your beer mug makes a great vase for those beautiful poppies, and the sentiment fits on there perfectly! That frothy mug of beer makes for a wonderful masculine birthday card. I love the plaid that goes so well with the beer color too. I hope you are enjoying your summer, and thanks for joining us at the Twofer Card Challenge!
I am laughing so hard right now as I just posted my twofer card right next to yours and realized we both used the same image! LOL I swear I did not see yours before I began my cards earlier today, so how funny is this? I can assure you though, that I went in a completely different direction with one of my cards LOL I like that you put flowers in the mug and made the other card masculine with the plaid. Great twofer and we are definitely on the same wavelength for this challenge! LOL
Very cool, you are so good at that challenge. I love what you have done with the mug stamp. Really cute.
This is a fantastic two-fer! That is a really challenging challenge that I'd like to try out sometime... soon... when I got caught up. lol! I'm realizing that while I was getting ready for vacation and on vacation and trying to catch up... I've been missing my visits to my favorite crafty places... can't wait to see what else you've been up to. Although tonight... my eyelids are drooping so I will continue on through tomorrow night... LOVE these cards!
Greats cards Verna, I love your use of the mug as a vase... I love when you can get several uses from a stamp... well done
These are just fab! That second card is just the kind of thing my husband would appreciate. I'm sure he'd like the card too, lol. x
Great cards! I especially love the poppies!
Very creative to use the mug as a vase!
Two fantastic cards Verna. LOVE that you've used the beer mug as a vase for your beautifully coloured poppies. The cold frothy beer looks delicious and perfect for a hot summer's day. :) Definitely a wonderful masculine card. Thanks for playing along with us at Twofer Card Challenge!
2 great cards! I love the mug full of your pretty poppies and I also love your masculine beer card! 2 great designs! Perfect!
You always do the most entertaining job with this challenge, Verna! Love how you've turned this mug from feminine to masculine, hello to "beerday". Stellar work on both and I love them!
You got it, Verna! You can't have a beverage without a container to put it in, unless you're a dog drinking from a hose ... but, wait, then the hose would be the container! Your choice of containers is HOPping excellent! See what I did there: beer = hops! The Mister would love your sudsy brew birthday card with the manly plaid and great coloring! And I'm in love with your poppies! The mug makes an excellent vase for these beautiful flowers which grow wild here!! Thank you for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #7! Hugs, Darnell
Fabulous yet again! It's such a fun challenge! Gotta play along as well...
A beer mug for a vase? Well, why not! It looks fabulous with your poppies! How awesome that the froth stamp is separate! I can think of a few guys who would love to get this fun "Beerday" card, hehe! Great sentiment, too!
Thanks for joining us at the Twofer!
such fun cards Verna...well done.
xx Karen
What a great stamp that you can use it two different ways. I love stamps that you can dress up. Great job, verna.
So fun! What a creative idea for the challenge Verna!
Brilliant, Verna ... love the contrast on your hello card between the chunky beer tankard and those beautifully coloured, delicate poppies ... what a delight! Your birthday card is deliciously masculine ... you've made that beer look so wonderfully frothy, cool and downright tempting in this summer heat! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Hugs, Anita :)
