August Rudolph Days

Wow! Time has flown by once again this month and  here we are to the August Rudolph Days Challenge. Anything goes as long as it is Christmas. And, I had won some digi files last year so I was determined I would make use of them for at least a few cards. I hope you like my endeavor using them. I got a new printer so I was all set up to make it happen.

The files are all from iralamija shop,  I used the Gingham No. 2 collage file and also the Christmas Carol file for this card. With a Tim Holtz Layering Stencil from Collection 19 I  added some holly in random colors to the gingham paper. The background paper was just printed on regular printer paper but the tags were printed on Gina K. Designs white layering weight card stock. I also used Gina K. Designs Cranberry Tart and Kraft card stock. The ribbon is some I recently acquired as I admired the colors of it so much for using on my Christmas cards. It is called Vintage Christmas and is from Reasonable Ribbon.  I finished the card by adding some ivory paper inside so that I can stamp or write a message.

Sorry I have not done much lately in the crafting department. The garden just keeps on producing and so therefore I keep on taking care of the food retrieved.  And, I managed to get a haircut in this week which in itself was a great accomplishment. I feel so light headed now. LOL And, I got good doctor reports as my leg and toe are both healed up and things were fine with my other medical and eye doctor appointments. Mammogram was normal too. So maybe with all of those behind me now I can get back to being more creative.

I need to bake this week too as hubby needs some one carb choice cup cakes again. That is the easiest way to make them so that a portion is just right for his diabetic diet.

Well, happy weekend to all. I thank you for your visits and for all the great comments you leave me. I read them all too.

God bless,
Verna

Well done on your digi use! Love how you've made the gingham paper your own with the stenciling, and the tag is beautiful. What really stole the eye for me was that wonderful gingham ribbon in the Christmas colors! That looks so vintage to me, and perfect with your pretty tag. TFS & good luck with the harvest preservation. That won't wait, crafting can! Hugs

Great idea to add holly to the paper and it looks so pretty. I love the image and I really love that ribbon. I always like ribbon on cards but when sequins came along, ribbon took a backseat. Now I have tons of ribbon and sequins! Glad to hear you got a clean bill of health. Always makes me feel so good when I leave the Dr.'s office with that kind of news.

You really personalized that digi paper with the addition of the stencilled holly. it looks so pretty. Your vintage looking tag is so lovely and looks good here.
The ribbon is great! i love ribbon. 'i have tons and often forget to use it. The lovely thing about a tag card is that you can use two ribbons. One for the tag top or even a couple of smaller ones...and another for the divide as you have done!

Thanks for taking part in the August Rudolph Days Challenge.

What a lovely festive card Verna! I love the vintage look and how well the cranberry card goes with the kraft base card. I can see why you loved that ribbon - perfect for holiday cards.
I'm pleased to hear that your medical appointments went well and are now behind you.
Take care.

Oooh, a new printer! At the rate mine uses ink I don't even think about printing colored papers, but I love it for digis. This is beautiful, Verna! Love the vintage image and the pretty paper you created. Lovely colors. Must use some of my Christmas ribbon this year! Sounds like you've been busy and accomplishing lots. And good news on the medical front! Seems I'm in one of those busy phases, too. I pop into my room little bits at a time and color or work on a card design, but when it comes to photographing and posting I don't get to it.

Your holly looks right at home on the gingham paper, I thought it was part of the design. Love the ribbon, all comes together for a fab traditional card.
Like the sound of the one carb cup cakes too - lucky hubby.
