While I was cooking some food and had to be close by to check on it I decided to use my MISTI and stamp up a quick Christmas card design using traditional red and green colors. I always love the look of holly so I chose to use images from the Gina K. Designs Festive Foliage stamp set.
I stamped the holly and berries repeatedly using Gina K. Designs Lucky Clover, Christmas Pine and Red Velvet inks. When I had my holly all stamped I cut along the holly on the right edge leaving a slight white border. I also cut my card stock down by a 1/4 inch so that I had room to leave a bit of border showing from the red card base. But before I added it to the red card base I took some ribbon I bought from Reasonable Ribbon called Christmas Traditions as it fit in perfectly with the color combinations I was going for.
To finish the card off I added a white panel inside on which I stamped the words "peace, joy, be merry" with red ink. These words were from the same stamp set.
I am entering this in the Mod Squad Challenge for this week which is Anything Goes.
Well, I see I have a bunch of red ripe tomatoes that need my attention today. I think I am just going to place them in hot water for a bit, then slip the skins off and put them in a freezer bag and toss them in the freezer that way. Then when I want to make soup, chili, spaghetti or other types of tomato dishes I have them all ready to use.
I had not expected to do another post this week so I am quite surprised I managed it. At any rate, after the tomatoes are done I have to clean some more for the guests who will be arriving Friday I believe. I wish all of you a great weekend and thanks for all the sweet comments you leave me.
God bless,
Verna

Your card is beautiful. I really like the fussy cut image. How lucky you are to have homegrown tomatoes to enjoy all year round.
Very pretty card, love the red & green
I am so impressed on many levels Verna.....you manage to cook and make a wonderful card at the same time. Find time to make a card whilst preparing for your guests and then thinking about your tomatoes and freezing them X
I love your traditional Christmas card and how you did the stamping, so effective. The fussy cutting with the white edge looks fabulous. One special card X
Verna, I just love, love, love this card. I'm kind of partial to "traditional" Christmas card.
Beautiful traditional Christmas card Verna. Of course I love the 'tartan' ribbon. Love your multi tasking!
A beautiful Christmas card,love the design.xxx
So envious of your ripe tomatoes. It's hard to grow them here in Northern Michigan. Not a long enough growing season. Also envious of the beautiful card you have created!! It's stunning and a perfect Christmas card. I LOVE it!
It's hard to imagine making such a pretty and perfect card while dinner's cooking and you've got company to prepare for. Better, even, that's it's another Christmas card for the fast approaching season. I love it! Enjoy your tomatoes. I like your idea of skinning and freezing some.
Home grown tomatoes here are a treat. I had a few this year from the neighbor. I could never cook and craft at the same time and you made a beautiful card while doing it. I love the design cutting along the side and that gorgeous ribbon. Enjoy your weekend.
Great work on the stamping and I love the colors, and the way you've fussy cut the edge - I always prefer traditional colors for some reason. I've got several of the GK cubes and you mentioned one color I don't have yet! Ribbon is a nice trimming touch. The tomatoes will be so yummy this winter too. TFS & Have a good weekend. Hugs
Such a pretty card! I love the tones of green on the leaves and the pretty plaid bow.
Loving the look of this. Such a great idea to stamp the holly as a border. Love also the ribbon - it goes perfectly with the colors you used for the holly.
Totally my kind of card! Think I'll have to case this one, Verna!
This is a wow card! I love the traditional Christmas colors...so sharp...and the holly is a fave of mine. Great stamping!
Beautiful! Love how you cut around the stamped images... very cool look!
Totally fabulous! Love how you made the holly a border
Another stunner, Verna! I go all gaga over holly and I am in love with how you stamped them and then cut around them to reveal the red card base! The ribbon is perfect, too! Pinning to CASE someday!! Hugs, Darnell
love the cut away edge and the wonderfully traditional feeling it has Verna...great card mf.
xx Karen
This is so pretty. Love it and love the ribbon you added!! :)
mmmm nothing like a yummy homegrown tomato, seems like critters have been taking bites out of ours, just when they are ready for picking, sigh. Your card is a beauty! LOVE the traditional colors and the pretty holly border!
