This time my masculine card used a digital stamp as well as an old wood mounted rubber stamp. So I made a card for the Artsystamper Challenge #18-Vacation. The card I made represents a simple road trip type of vacation which was mainly the kind I grew up taking with my parents and sisters. Most of the time they were only a couple days. And, when I married a farmer I knew that would be the same type of trips we would take as well. The only big trip we took was the one to Japan to visit our son and family which was a ten day one. Otherwise we only left for a couple days. After all we were dairy farmers and we could not afford to have someone come in and milk the cows for too many days. But we still had fun! So I hope you enjoy my take on a vacation!
The tree is one of my all time favorites and it was made by A Stamp in the Hand company. I was afraid it would not stamp very good but luckily it still worked. I colored direct to the stamp with Arteza water color brush pens, huffed on it and made the impression. And, then later added more color with more ink using the same pens. I filled in some blue for the sky with my blending brushes and then framed the background with a layer of blue card stock. I added that to a kraft card base and then popped up the card from the Artsystamper digital set called Cruzin. The last thing added was some gems.
Have a good evening. Supper is almost done so I best be running along.
God bless,
Verna

This is beautiful. I thought the whole tree was watercolored in until I read it was a stamp. Love it.
I can remember day trips. We'd all pile in the station wagon and lunch was a picnic table on the side of the road. Mama would bring out the bread, bologna and chips. If we were extremely fortunate we had a luxury meal of fried chicken and potato salad. Also, since it was a day trip we were allowed to drink a soda. One soda and it was always a Winn Dixie brand called Chek.
I always wanted to milk a cow. I still do. [Bunny]

What an awesome card design as well as fond memories! We only had a day trip growing up except for moving a lot around the states and to Europe when we were growing up in the military. I guess my parents were too tired to want to take us anywhere lol! Once we drove across the states, in the summer, from North Carolina to Washington state. I'll never forget how unbelievably hot that summer was. We didn't have air conditioning in the car or in motels we stayed at, just hot air blowing in through those little "wing" windows and the rest rolled down all the way. Almost took a week. I love to see what your cards are - what a very cool car! We had a 57 Chevy all fixed up in the 70s. You did a very fun design here, Verna! 😍
Another fabulous masculine card, the car reminds me of one my dad used to have, he sure loved his cars and you never knew when he would drive in from work with a new car, us kids were excited, my mom..not lol!! Love how you did the pretty tree too, that is a great stamp!!
What a wonderful tree stamp on this stunning card Verna - a wonderful work of art!
Stay safe
Blessings
Maxine
Wonderful design! The tree is awesome - great coloring and love how the car is off in the corner! Wonderful work! Oh for the simpler days!
Your car looks like it's driving right off the page! Looks great with your gorgeous tree in the background. Love it!
I love your story, and your pretty card, Verna! Always, I'm incredulous seeing your own artistic skills in painting and free-hand. This is lovely! hugs, de
It's a wonderful masculine design indeed!!
Great masculine card and that car looks like my old 57' chevy. Day trips are the best and we should take more of them right in our own home states.
You have such great ideas for guy cards! Love this and your story that inspired it!
Oh my goodness, that is such a fantastic tree and I love the car parked beneath it! Wonderful card!
Your card is fabulously nostalgic, Verna, and the tree stamp is perfect with the car digi. We didn't do many day trips when I was a kid, but Rich and I sure did a lot with our son when he was growing up. Now we do trips with the dogs. Maybe a day trip is all we'll manage until this virus is completely gone.
Oh my goodness, Verna - this is awesome! What a beautiful scene you have created. Looks like you could just drive that car right off the page! Who makes the car? I love it! Beautifully done!
Fabulous man card. Love the car
Hi Verna,
Well there's your card! I love it. We just purchased an RV and a truck, so I guess I have more stamps to create! We went cross country twice when I was a kid, my father would take a super 8 movie of signs and said, "we'll read it later." Thanks for the memories.
Hugs,
Bev aka artsystamper
LOVE it! Love the scene but love the CAR!!! I too had "road trips" and still have them :o) usually to Colorado where Hubbs is from. We've done a few other trips, but road trips are still a fave
Love this scene! You have captured a Road Trip on the card!
Absolutely love this card, Verna! The tree is fabulous & love the car! I grew up with very few actual vacations, but we often piled in the car & went to a park for a picnic. I miss it!
I actually prefer road trips! I've never been on an airplane and I hope it stays that way. Your card is gorgeous, Verna! Love everything about it, and it makes a great card for a man!
What an awesome design Verna! LOVE IT! Yep brings back lots of memories but our car was a station wagon! LOL We only went for a few days at a time and we rarely stayed in a motel ... the 3 of us girls slept in the back of the car and Mom/Dad slept out on the ground. You certainly wouldn't dare do that today!!!
LOVE that tree stamp ... you've certainly made a beautiful scene here using both ink/stamp & digital stamp! WELL DONE my friend!! Thanks so much for playing in our challenge at the Artsystamper Challenge Blog!
