More Digital Practice

I just got a new digital stamp called Calla Lily from Artsystamper and so I had to do a bit of practice in making a card with it. I also used a pattern paper digital that I got years ago from Gina K. Designs which had never been used before for the background. This was an exercise of placing one digital image onto another. In this case I placed the black and white open line calla lilies onto the pattern paper and then I proceeded to color them in. I finished the card by adding a sentiment by hand stamping it. It is from a set from Papertrey Ink called Savior Inspired. I was fortunate to get this set from a friend and I know it will be used many times by me.

Well, that was all the creative work I did today. I just got the digital calla lily this afternoon so this evening I relaxed and worked up this design. I hope I passed the test on placing one image onto another. I colored with Copics but so many of mine are drying up and I am not going to spend money replacing them or adding more ink. So if they look a bit blotchy that may be the reason why.

No Heart Valentine

Here is the card I made for the  Creative Confetti Challenge-Anything But A Heart Valentine. I was cleaning yesterday when I came across this no line Rose digi from Power Poppy that I had worked with earlier and set aside. So I decided to finish the card so I could enter this in the challenge.

It was a good thing I had not finished the card earlier as I know if I made it a Valentine as planned I would have added some little hearts. But I do think with that wonderful Loopy Oval die from Gina Marie Designs that it still looks very elegant against the Dusty Rose card base. The coloring was done with a mix of Bic and Sharpie alcohol markers. The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs.

Anniversary Card

While perusing my digital files I ran across the darling caterpillar couple digi from the Tiddly Inks  Nice 2 See You set and so along with a heart swirl digi from the Puttin' On The Ritz digital set from Jan's Digis Shop I created an anniversary card. I also used a regular acrylic stamp from Kitchen Sink Stamps for the sentiment which I added with Gina K. Designs Jet Black Amalgam ink.

All of the images were already colored so I did not use any markers on them. The heart swirls came in two sets but I arranged it so that the one set of swirls was on the opposite side of the paper. That way I could add that to the inside to tie the two designs together. I think you can see just a little sneak of that in this next photo. Both panels were die cut with a stitched rectangle frame from Makers Movement.

Baby Girl Crocodile Card

Once again I used the February Crocodile Baby image from Beccy's Place but this time I used the uncolored version and did my own coloring for this card. It does not compare in quality at all to the pre-colored version but I still like it. I hope you do too. This will also be entered into the Beccy's Place February Challenge.

I colored my image with a mix of Bic, Sharpies and Copic markers. Then I cut the design out and added it to pattern paper from Beccy's Place using the paper that came with the Vase of Peonies digital stamp set. I found some ribbon with white polka dots on it so I tried to make the ribbon on the crocodile look similar to that. I again added a sentiment from a no longer in business Sparkle N Sprinkle set called Baby oh Baby! I finished the card by adding this all to a white card base.

I am happy to say that now if anyone has a baby in the future I will have a card all ready for them in my stash. I am glad I played a bit today. I need to do some major cleaning this week and get ready for some company on the weekend. And, I am very slow at doing this type of thing as I have to rest often. Sometimes these golden years seem quite tarnished. LOL So until next time take care.

Baby Boy Crocodile Card

I just fell in love with the free digital set that was offered at Beccy's Place so I decided I wanted to use it and join in the Beccy's Place Monthly (February) Challenge using those free images. The set comes with a colored version, lined version and also pattern paper so you can't beat that for having everything handy for happy card making. I chose to use the colored version along with the pattern paper.

I did some brushing on of extra color to the edges of the pattern paper which I had die cut with a Spellbinder Curved Rectangle die. I also stamped a sentiment from the Sparkle N Sprinkle (no longer in business) Baby Oh Baby Stamp Set. The crocodile baby was fussy cut out and placed onto that pattern paper. And once all was adhered together I then added it to a white card stock base.

I think he is so cute and I think I am going to make a girl version with the non-colored design. So that may be on my next post.

Heart Frame Card

This afternoon I made a card using my new die from Obsession Impression to make a card using the Heart Frame die. I combined it with red/white gingham paper and red, white and pink card stock to create my card. I used an white ink pen to add some highlights.

Here is the link to the DIE124-Z Heart Frame. I can see this die working for weddings/anniversaries as well as for Valentines. Even a birthday card could be done with it.
