The tulips peeking their first leaves through to me is always a good sign of spring. Unfortunately, here that is not the case so instead I created a card using some doodle tulip images from Inkadinkado. I also added some punched out designs and a simple sentiment from a Stampin' Up stamp and punch set. I sponged on some ink to create a sky background and I made grass with a strip of paper and a scissors. Oh, the tulips were fussy cut around too. Just a simple card.
I colored it with the Bic Mark-It alcohol ink pens. If you cannot afford to buy the Copics, these are a very reasonable alternative. I think I purchased mine from Amazon.com or Overstock.com, but I am sure they are available in other stores.
And now the exciting part of this post. I have a winner to announce. The lucky winner is Kitty. So Kitty if you can email your information I will try to get the package to you as soon as I can.
And, I want to thank all who commented and followed along on my adventure into blogging. I wish all of you a blessed and wonderful spring!
Hugs, Verna

The bic pens did a marvelous job, Verna! Beautiful colors, and a delightful Spring Time card! hugs, de
You did a great job colouring the doodle tulips. I have some of those Bic markers and will use them more now that I see what can be done with them. The grass looks great and the fresh and happy look of this card gives us hope that Spring will be here soon.
Smiles, Janet
I love your tulips, sky and the sentiment design Verna. Yes, Bic markers are so much fun to color with. I haven't tried using alcohol blending marker with them though - I think I'll try it soon and see if it will lighten to create more depth like Copics. All my best for spring to pop your way asap :)
Very pretty card, Verna! I'm ready for Spring too. It's been a long Winter. We did some yard work yesterday, and I have some tulips starting to show. It will be so nice to have some beautiful color in the flower beds again.
Fun Springtime card!
Very pretty spring card, Verna! Thanks for the tip about the Bic markers!! Hugs, Darnell
Congrats, Kitty! LOVE the card, Verna. Moral of the story: don't underestimate the humble BIC!
hugs, Asha
