One of my all time favorite movies was the original Singin' In The Rain with Gene Kelly. I just loved to see him dance. I always wished I could dance like that but alas, with two left feet it does not seem to be the thing for me. LOL Anyway today I made a Color Burst background and decided to do a similar scene as I remembered it from the movie.
As you can see the Color Bursts are very similar to the Bisters for making backgrounds as they too are water color granules. You sprinkle them on and give a little spurt of water to them. I used glossy card stock and only the blue color was used on this background.
I then took an open framed umbrella image from the Warm Spring Wishes set and the dancing couple from the Because of You set which are all from Gina K. Designs and stamped them with black dye ink. The umbrella was an open design so I had to take a black Tombo marker and color it solid to match with the couple. I doodled on some rain drops and used a white gel pen to accent them a bit.
And, in my last order from Gina K. Designs I purchased a few of these beautiful bows all ready to pop onto a card. I thought this dressed the card up nicely too.
Well, hopefully, by making this card it will generate some moisture our way so we can go out and sing and dance in the rain too! Any rain the Lord can provide will be so appreciated. Have a good weekend everyone.
God bless,
Verna

I looked at this card and before I read a word I knew it was Singing in the Rain for Cat's challenge. Love happy scene you created and your doodle rain drops.
You are so creative! This is so fun and I can hear the song to the movie now!!! Love your use of Bisters for the background and how you colored in the umbrella but made rain drops all over. Brilliant Verna!
What a wonderful post, Verna! I always wished the same thing! Your color burst background is sensational with this beautiful silhouette and that festive bow is pure perfection!! I hope you are feeling better! Hugs, Darnell
Wonderfully creative to make this dancing couple under an umbrella. You can really hear the song, while they dance in the rain that you created. Love your whimsical bow too.
Wonderful movie, fantastic card! What a great buy, beautifully pre-made bows!
What a great scene! I love the background with the raindrops you created. And the pretty bow just finishes off this fabulous scene.
Very fun card! I just recently heard of the Color burst product. Now that there are more choices for these powders it is harder to choose between them!
Verna, hope you are feeling a lot better. Your last cards posted are all excellent, creative and fun to view.
Hugs,

Awesome card, and great use of the Color Bursts. Aren't they fun? I love my Brushos. Your card is perfect for the movie challenge. How clever to use the umbrella stamp with the dancing couple. And your raindrops are the perfect final touch!
Gorgeous card Verna! I love that background and what a beautiful bow..
Fabulous design, and great use of the Color Burst. Verna, I almost purchased some CB at a convention recently, but decided to wait for the Bisters. Do you think they are similar enough that it doesn't matter which is used? Or do you think one is a little better quality than the other? Thank you so much for sharing a fabulous card design (yet again) LOL hugs, de
Absolutely Beautiful
