I recently purchased some gorgeous poppy images which are from the Stampinback line and available at I Brake For Stamps. When I saw what the Scrapy Land Blog Challenge was I decided to use those flowers to make a card. The sentiment is also from the Stampinback line.
I also thought this was a good way to try and use my new Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers as well. I tried to get a realistic look to the poppies with blending. They were stamped in black dye ink onto Tim Holtz watercolor paper and then colored.
When the coloring was completed and the sentiment added in navy ink I then cut the design out with a Spellbinder Lacey Circle die. Next I cut out a circle from a Cheery Lynn Designs XL-4 Circle Classic Nesting Die with navy card stock. I layered those two together before I added them to another larger white circle of the Spellbinder Lacey Circle die cuts.
I set these aside until I had die cut my Cheery Lynn Designs FRM 132 French Lattice Small Frame from navy card stock. I on purpose left some of the negatives in place to create a different pattern design. The French Lattice was then layered on to some Gina K. Designs Tomato Soup card stock.
The final step was to add my focal images over the background I had created. Oh, I also added some white card stock to the inside where I could add a message.
I am so glad the use of dies can make a card look fantastic without adding a lot of bulk. I mail most of my cards and I am sort of frugal when it comes to sending them. I want them to go with just one postage stamp since I send out quite a few. Hey! I have to cut corners somewhere and sometimes a ribbon bow really makes it more spendy to send.
Well, another week has flown by. Not sure what my weekend will entail but I think I will put aside the crafty card making and concentrate on other things. I wish all of you a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for stopping in and commenting.
God bless,
Verna

Hi, Verna! Your poppies are gorgeous! love the double white scallop circle, resembling an open flower, and the lattice is a perfect touch! Leaving those four squares in the lattice is the perfect way to use that lattice with other die cuts - love this! now for my other hat: Thanks for sharing your pretty project in the Scrapy Land Challenge! Hope you will join us again! hugs and blessings, de {Creative Smiles}
