I wish all of you a wonderful St. Patrick's Day. On that note, here is the last card I made for that holiday and I saved it just especially for today. I will be entering this in the Scrapy Land Blog Challenge.
The Irish blessing sentiment which is the focal image of my card is from the CAS-UAL FRIDAYS set called Clover. The little shamrocks are some older wood stamps which are from Annette Watkins. Card stock colors used are two shades of green. The shamrocks and sentiment were stamped with dark green ink and then I used Specrtrum Noir pens to color in the shamrocks.
I used an embossing folder from Crafter's Companion which is from the Every Day With Barkley line and is called Dottie. I did not have an appropriate embossing folder for St. Patrick's Day but I thought this would be a more universal one to use. But before I embossed the design I also added the Inside Out Embossing Plate IOEPS01 which left the center oval part without embossing on it.
The next step after I had embossed the card front I then took another embossing folder from Inside Out Embossing Plate called Frame It IOEPF01 and along with the first set of plates I added the center embossing design around the oval portion only. Both of these plates were purchased at Cheery Lynn Designs. For more ideas on how to use these plates check out the video at Cheery Lynn Designs.
Now that all the embossing was done I took a sponge and added some green ink lightly over those embossed areas to highlight the design more. After mounting this panel onto darker green card stock I then die cut some corner embellishments from Cheery Lynn Designs to add to the card. The finishing touch was the addition of a green organza bow.
The Cheery Lynn Die used:
B162 Lace Corner Deco B
Well, I hope that whether or not you celebrate this holiday that it will be a good day for you none the less. And, thanks for stopping by.
God bless,
Verna
