Red-Faced Warbler

I decided to get out a never before used stamp set called Summer Warbler by Inspired by Stamping. It was one of the first sets I purchased and just now am using it. I brought it out many times and debated over it but had no idea what warblers looked like. Well it seems there are many variations and I chose to use the Red-Faced Warbler which is found mainly in New Mexico, Arizona and Mexico.

I also chose to use products that I had not used in years and years They are embossing fluid and colored pencils. The embossing fluid is a clear fluid and you rub it on with the dauber bottle that it comes in. It had been sitting in my cupboard for a long time. And, colored pencils had not been used very much by me lately either so both products got to see daylight from behind cupboard doors. After I had colored the image and stamped the sentiment I applied the embossing fluid and clear embossing powder. I then heat set it.

The last step I did on this single layer card was to add some blue rhinestones. They are a dark blue and a light blue.

I am entering this card in the Mod Squad Blog Challenge for this week in which we are to use products that have never  been used or not been used for a long time. I knew I had items that would certainly qualify for the challenge. How about you? I am sure there are things in your supply drawers or cupboards that need some loving too! If so, go for it!

Well, I hope all have had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. I thought these colors chosen for the warbler were right on target for the red, white and blue holiday.

Have a good week and God bless,
Verna

I'm kind of afraid to ask how long you've had this stamp lol!! But you sure did your research and created a STUNNER!!! I've never heard of embossing fluid - eep? This is a feast for the eyes as I am mesmerized by birds! Well done!

What a nice card. I too never heard of embossing fluid and I'm really old.. Your bird came out great and the technique with the fluid totally worked.. nice job.

Beautiful bird, really pretty...love the way you colored him! And that sentiment, I have seen it and loved it. I never heard of embossing fluid either, but I love the clear heated powder over your card, it adds such a lovely sheen. Wonderful creation!

Looks like you when over the top when you opened your cupboard. Really amazing one layer card with the beautiful colored bird and the embossing fluid used all over the card. Love that sentiment. I could use that one right now for a friend.

Yes, never heard of the fluid either, but then have many older things in stash here not used as well. That is a goal am thinking, - Use them :)
Made for a beautiful card and love the sentiment.
