Red Velvet Foiled Poinsettia

I had to make this card special for the Mix It Up Monday challenge at Stamp TV in which you take the numbers in your birthday and make a card using the corresponding numbers on the chart. Since my birthday is June 23 I had to work with die cuts and stitching. I hate sewing so I did only a simple cross stitch on each corner on the right side. And, I die cut the sentiments. So this should qualify.

I used Lipstick card stock and Deco Transfer Gel to add the poinsettia design from a stencil from the Tim Holtz Collection 19 series.  Once it was dry I used Gina K. Designs Red Velvet Fancy Foil and my laminator to get the design on the Lipstick card stock. Along the edge of that design I added the ribbon. Then in the bottom and top corner on the right side I added a simple cross stitch using some red metallic fibers. In between the sentiment and the cross stitches I added some red rhinestones from Eyelet Outlet. This panel was then added to a white card base. The last thing I did was stamp the sentiment from Gina K. Designs Festive Foliage set by Claire Brennan with black Versafine ink and then die cut that and the outer layer of Red Velvet card stock with oval dies from Cheery Lynn Designs. They were then popped up over the card panel.

It was a lovely morning today when we went to church to see that sun showing and feeling it's warmth. And, it really heated up this afternoon. I guess we can tell we have not seen that sun for a long time. It seemed so bright to us.

Well, I hope your day is a great one and that the week is off to a great start for you. Thanks for the visit and for your lovely comments.

God bless,
Verna

Verna, this is the most gorgeous Christmas card I have ever seen and I mean it. The red foiled poinsettias caught my eye immediately; they just scream of 'BEAUTY'. And all the embellishments (ribbon, eyelets, saying, etc.) you used were absolutely perfect I got a kick out of ALL the sewing you did on the card for the contest; that's what I would have to do for sewing, too. This card could rival any card sold in any store for the holidays.
