Ever since I purchased a Gina K. Designs die called Birds & Branches I wanted to make a card using it. The first time I die cut it out I colored it in but the more I looked at the white version of it the more I liked that better and by placing it against a black card base I loved it even more. I think it works for a great CAS design using the die as the focal image. I added a white embossed sentiment from a Gina K. Designs stamp set called Massive Messages and used her white detail embossing powder to emboss it. The last item added to the outer design was some pearls from Eyelet Outlet.
I added an extra portion of the die cut branches along with the original in the left upper corner. It is a large die so a bit of each edge was cut off so that I could fit it to my card.
Inside the card I went the opposite way and stamped some branches in black onto white card stock and also the sentiment. These branches and the sentiment are from the Whimsical Spring stamp set. Of course, I used my MISTI for the stamping and to add the die cut designs I used the new glue from Gina K. Designs called Connect. I really love that glue and it works so well for adding layers and dies.
I think this may work great for a masculine birthday card. So that will no doubt be the way I use it. I am in need of a couple of them for March.
Well, that does it for me today. It was a fun afternoon project to do. I hope your week is off to a good start. And, thanks for visiting!
God bless,
Verna

I love black & white cards and this one is especially awesome.
Such a striking card, Verna, looks gorgeous in black and white. I love how you've decorated the inside of the card too. x

Nothing says spring like a bird on a branch. I love the black and white combo.
I love this, Verna. xx
Love the b&w, as it's a very dramatic presentation. I also love your idea of reversing the colors for the inside too. Hope you will share the color version that you've done, but I think this one is just elegant. TFS
Cute! Black and white makes such an impact!
What a beautiful die! I love anything birds and I do love the look of white die cuts on colored card stock. It's especially striking with the black and it does make a great masculine card. Love how you reversed the inside. Beautiful leaf stamp there!
