Bleach It Out

The challenge at Stamp TV that Gina K. posted in honor of the new release is to bleach out a design and make a card with it. So I worked on that while the rain was pouring. I chose the stamp images from Gina K. Designs Vine & Butterfly stamp set. I also chose to use some pattern paper from the Gina K. Designs Watercolor Garden pack.

Using some Gina K. Designs Red Velvet card stock and Versamark I stamped the daisy and the butterfly. I added Gina K. Designs fine detail black embossing powder and heat set them. Next I took plain old Clorox bleach and removed the color from the card stock. I used a water brush but I just dipped it in the bleach. After it had dried I then took and added just a smidge of color back in with my Zig Watercolor markers. I die cut the design with Gina K. Designs Small oval die and then layered it onto a black layer die cut with Gina's large oval die. When they were placed together it made a narrow black border around the design. I added a few black gems too. Pretty simple card but I do love the way it looks.

Have a great evening. Your visits and comments sure make me happy.

God bless,
Verna

Beautiful job with the bleach, Verna! I watched the video and remembered that I did this technique many years ago, when I first started stamping, but I haven't tried it since. Nicely done!

Another gorgeous make! Love doing that with the bleach and then going over it with another coloring medium. You've nailed it here! So cool!

You've done this bleaching technique so beautifully, and brilliant idea to add shading with the Zigs. The red bleached wonderfully and I love the hot pops of those summer red & oranges in teh background paper! TFS
