Nautical?????

I wanted to make a nautical card design and although I had some anchors and a few really small sail boats I felt for a birthday card for a young man it would be more appreciated if I did one which features an image which looks a great deal like Captain Jack Sparrow. So with a stretch of the imagination I did make a card which I hope will pass as a nautical designed card.

I had no dies that would work for this card but I did have a score board and a scalloped designed scissors so with these tools I constructed my boat and my sea. I even added in a shark. The Captain Jack Sparrow image is from Stampitcrazy and the sentiments are from Gina K. Design. I twisted some brown and white fibers together to sort of look like some rope. I assume there is rope on a ship and anyway I thought it looked okay.

Providing they will let me get by with calling this a nautical themed card I am entering this in the Double D's Challenge. I guess I took my inspiration from the sailboat.

Thanks for visiting and I really love to read your wonderful comments too.

God bless,
Verna

What an incredible and clever nautical design, Verna! I could not even picture anything like this in my head. It's amazing - love the addition of a shark fin down there in the water.

You did a great job making this card. I love the sharks tail fin and yes, I'm sure there has to be rope on a ship. He will love this.

Oh my goodness Verna ... you were SO creative on your design and I just LOVE it! Nothing says nautical these days more than Captain Jack Sparrow! LOL Great job! I didn't spot the shark until Barb commented then had to go back for another look ... Yep there it is ... very clever! Well done and yes of course it qualifies!!! LOL Thanks so much for joining in the fun at our Double D ‘Nautical’ challenge! Good Luck and we hope you’ll come back often.

I would say it's definitely nautical themed. Really enjoyed reading how you've used tools & what you have to create the boat, the water, and how clever to add a shark fin! I think your young man will love this lots! TFS & Hugs

Fun nautical card, Verna! Nothing like and image of Captain Sparrow to go along with this seaside theme! Thanks for joining the Double D, "Nautical" Challenge.

Are you kidding? This is about as nautical as it gets, and infinitely creative! I thought for sure it was Captain Jack Sparrow. Looks just like him. Your scoring, the wavy water, the shark's fin, and your hand made rope are perfect! Verna, you amaze me! I'm so glad you shared this in our Nautical Challenge at Double D!
