Acetate Thank You Card

I and my niece were the lucky winners recently at White Rose Crafts LLC and were given a June Kit filled with great summer themed elements including papers, printed acetate, ribbons, buttons, stickers, stamp sets and more. And, I know it is no longer summer but I still had to make a card using some of the goodies from that kit. So I made a thank you card. I hope you like it.

I used one of the stamp sets to stamp the design at the top and the bottom of the card and in between those areas I added the acetate. I just loved that pink polka dotted acetate and knew right off I wanted to make a card like this. And the thanks sentiment is a sticker from the kit.

Here is what it looks like inside. The pattern paper that covered up the back of the stamped papers were also in the kit. I thought they matched up with the Hero Arts Ombre ink pad I used for stamping the designs. I also added a bit of the stamped design inside the card too! The little leaves I stamped with a green ink pad from Gina K. Designs. Since the sentiment was in green I had to find a way to add some to my design so I picked out that little leaf design and used that. All of these stamped designs are from the same stamp set from Docrafts Creativity Essentials called Paisley. It is a set that can be used as a multi-step or otherwise.

Anyway, I had fun this rainy and dreary afternoon. And, it is getting colder again after a nice warm weekend. And, the furnace repair man did not come like he said either and since it is late in the day already I doubt he will make it. So I am not looking forward to the cold temps in the house tonight  But if it gets too cold we still have some wood to burn which will heat it up for awhile so we will get by. It did not even pay to open the drapes today and let the sun shine in as we never saw the sun at all.

But my wish for you is that the sun is shining brightly on you and that you are off to a great start for this week. At least I was able to play a bit. And, we had a great time with our company this weekend.
I have to share a photo with you showing Jack and Anna who went to visit the local pumpkin patch to pick out some pumpkins. They are both growing up so fast. I can't believe that Jack is seven months old already. The prayers you said for him sure paid off as he is doing great now.

Until next time take care and may the Lord bless you.
Hugs, Verna

So enjoyed seeing the pictures of the little ones, and Gosh, Jack looks so feisty and healthy with his pretty big sister. TFS the photos, as they look like they were having such fun (well, Jack looked like he wanted - 'down'!) Two just beautiful & colorful cards. Just love that hot paisley design, and the colors pop in the stripes too. I like how you've used the acetate, have never tried that. It's so pretty. Congrats on your win too. Hope you stay warm tonight. We had 75 today, much cooler for us, and only a few moments did the sun peek out. Humidity still a bit high though. Fall is on the way! TFS & Hugs.

The kids are so adorable! Lovely picture! I hope it doesn't get cold for you. We have the air conditioner on. You are brave to create an acetate card. I love the stripes and dots and paisley. How cool, Verna!

YOur thank you card is too cute and reminds me of red pom poms :) So fun! Speaking of fun, just look at those two darling children on a fall day! I cannot believe 7 months have gone by since Jack was born. WOW! Time really does fly! Speaking of flying time - thanks for the birthday wishes too :)

Gorgeous photos of the kids. Jack looks hale and hearty! A couple of cuties for sure. Love the card too. Great idea with the acetate and love your color combination too! Great job Verna. Certainly brightens up a dreary day, which we are having today too.

Although it is fun to craft with the seasons, I think it is great to have other kinds of cards on hand too. Love the acetate on this one!

The photo of your grandkids is fantastic!

This is simply beautiful, Verna. And so creative, I always forget to use acetate. Great inspiration here. And those babies are so stinkin' cute. Beautiful, beautiful children.....you are blessed!!

Oh, Verna, I'm still making summer cards, too, as I have stamps I purchased in the spring I've not yet used. I'm so behind! This, however, is simply a pretty and cheerful card that's wonderful for any time of the year. I'm glad you had a chance to play, and I'm also glad to hear Jack is doing so well. Your little darlings are absolutely precious!
