Masculine This Time!

This card is more of a masculine style and I chose to use a stamp from Blue Knight Rubber Stamps called Country Life. I thought this was a great card for a guy and especially for those who live in my neck of the woods. LOL This would be a typical scene many times where an old truck was chucked out in the field and left to rust.

I stamped the image with Gina K. Designs Jet Black Amalgam ink. I then used sponges for adding color to the scene. However I did take a marker to define areas where a sponge just would not work efficiently. I tried to match the sponged on colors. After I had the scene all colored I placed it back in my MISTI where I had kept the stamp in position and stamped it again in the black ink to bring out all the details which had been smudged by the sponging.

I then added this scene to a layer of black card stock and then placed it onto a white card stock base. I on purpose did not add any sentiment as I want to keep my options open as this could be a card for a birthday, get well or even a sympathy one.

I am entering this in the Double D's Challenge which calls for using something with wheels on it. I believe this old pick up truck qualifies.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your evening is a great one. And, I love all the comments you leave me too.

God bless,
Verna

This is an amazing scene for a rustic truck on a country road with the awesome sunset, or sunrise. It could be both.

What a wonderful rusty old truck! You've got the rust colors on the red so well, and your sponge work is fantastic. The sky looks much like an evening sunset, with the glimmer of sunshine in the truck's windows. Brilliant idea to leave your stamp in place on the Misti, so you could add back the details that the sponging may have covered. So great for a masculine card too. TFS (and don't you love the Amalgam ink?)

Well yes, your more then AWESOME card certainly does fit our theme perfectly!! A beautifully created card with all your fabulous details! I like the idea of how you put the card back in your Misti and stamped again, I will have to keep that idea (or try) in my memory bank! Thank you for joining us at Double D!

This is gorgeous. Your sponging is amazing and then going over it again to bring back the detail was a great idea. Loving the beautiful fall colors of this. Great work Verna!

This is awesome Verna! Beautifully colored and I too LOVE the idea of placing in back in your platform for another stamp after coloring ... brilliant idea!! (will have to remember that!!) I'm originally from the country and I totally understand seeing these old clunkers rusting away in the woods. GREAT job! Thanks so much for joining in the fun at our Double D ‘Let’s Pop a WHEELie’ challenge! Good Luck and we hope you’ll come back often.

Wow! You did that with sponges? You astound me! So beautiful, and a familiar scene here, too, but a different landscape. Love the old truck. A completely fabulous entry for DD's wheelie challenge!
