Sleigh Ride

I made this card using only three colors-cream, brown and black. It was a fun challenge and I think it turned out fairly nice.

I used cream card stock for my base and then I masked off the snowline so I could make the sky with a light brown. Then I took some snowflake stencils and added them with a bit darker shade of brown to the sky and also to the snowy portion on the bottom. The sentiment was stamped on cream card stock too and then I fussy cut it into a tag and added a piece of brown fiber to it. And the trees and sleigh were stamped in black.

Supplies used:
Gina K. Designs Inks
Frosty Flakes Stencil by The Greetery
Sleigh Ride Stamp Set by Sparkle N Sprinkle which is no longer in business (but a digital version is available HERE.) The set is illustrated by Jan Mahew.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
Mod Squad Challenge-3 Colors
Double D Challenge-Silhouettes

I have been busy. I got some apples from my daughter and I was working with them. And then I also had to do some baking as I am getting company this weekend so I am not bringing out a lot of supplies for card making right now. It is too much work to put it all away again. Anyway, just wanted to let you know I am doing fine and just busy. Have a great rest of the week.

God bless,
Verna

Great background and a pretty card. I am catching up and scrolled back on your blog. You have been busy and made wonderful cards. My favorite is Oct. 1st, the pumpkins mounted on the black c/s.

I love the softness of your wintery background. The scene with the silhouettes just pops and the sleigh with the prancing horse seems to be floating over the snow covered ground. Great job!

This is exceptionally beautiful, Verna! I really love the soft snowflake sky, so delicate. Fantastic silhouette stamp. This really stands out in the Double D gallery. I'm so glad you played along. Enjoy your apples. I love making and freezing applesauce when I have a big box of homegrown apples. It's such a fall thing to do.
