Skates and Cocoa #4

Once again I have chosen hot cocoa to go with some ice skates to create a holiday/winter card for the 2019 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Hop. I hope you like my design which I admit I am pretty proud of so here with no further ado is my card.

I took a navy/white duplex card stock for my card base. Then I added some die cut squares of beautiful snowflake pattern paper. At the top I added my cup and my sentiment and on the bottom I added the ice skates design.

You would think this card would not take long to create but in fact it did take longer then I had figured. You see the ice skates are from a Stampendous Dreamweaver die called Ice Skates. I put the stencil and my card stock through my die cut machine and embossed the design. Then while the stencil was still in place I added color to the pair. What really took the time was that I went and fussy cut the whole design out and then placed it on my card. But I love it! This will not be a card I will do often because of the time factor involved. But I am glad at least I tried it this way.

Supplies used:
Stampendous Dreamweaver Ice Skates metal stencil
Gina K. Designs pattern paper, dies and inks
Stamplorations Snow Cozy stamp set
Crafters Companion Dotted Glue Runner

Oh, you know I am having fun again with the hop. I hope you can join in too. The information is in the logo along the side of my blog.

Take care everyone and have a great weekend.

God bless,
Verna

Brings back memories of ice skating on the creek - hot cocoa would certainly be welcome on a cold day like that! Lovely card!

I love this pair of ice skates. I can imagine how hard it was to cut these out, especially inside the blades. But you did a fantastic job with this card, Verna. It's beautiful!

Wonderful card Verna and great design. I have some great memories of skating when I was young... including the cocoa. We had the best pond behind the house...

My goodness you are way ahead of me with these great cards. I love this one and it was worth the time because it is gorgeous. I love those ice skates and that paper is lovely. Thanks for reminding me that we can put those Dreamweaver dies through the die cutting machine. I have a lot of them that I don't use anymore.

Such a sweet skating card. Sometimes what looks simple is really time consuming. You have every right to be proud of this card.

Especially like your creation since I like to ice skate and like hot choc. When I moved to Central TX my hubby and I took basic ice skating lessons at mall skating rink. I enjoyed so much that I signed up & took hssxt class Jumps & Spins. TY for visiting my blog & commenting.

I love hot cocoa, and skating weather is perfect for it! Not that we ever get skating weather here... I know you're having fun with this challenge and I'm having fun looking! I sure understand about how long it can take to make a card. I seem to have a knack for making it take forever. This turned out amazing, Verna!

The extra time it took to create this card was well worth it; it came out great! I love the embossed detail on the skates, and you colored (and cut) them beautifully.

The texture on the skates is wonderful. I know many of my cards take way longer than they look.
