Finally I got around to doing my April Twofers for Darnell's challenge. Again I used digital stamps from Lili of the Valley. The April Twofers Challenge theme is Rain/Umbrellas so guess this will fit fine.
This first one I am showing was done with colored pencils and Gamsol. I also hand drew a sun to match with the sentiment which was from the Lili of the Valley Spring Sentiments set. The main focal image is from the Lili of the Valley Under the Weather set. I also used my blending brushes to add some blue for the sky.
The second card used the same image but for this one I computer generated the sentiment. I also took my old dried up markers and dipped them in water and got enough color out of them to do sort of a water color design. I was very happy and the points on the markers were so much easier to use then a paint brush. So I plan to save them just for this sort of thing. If they dry up completely I can always grab some color in the similar shade from an ink pad and do pretty much the same thing.
Again I did some ink blending with brushes for the sky and then I die cut the design with a Spellbinder die. I also used some pattern paper from my stash and die cut that with a larger die from the same Spellbinder set. I placed this on a yellow card base. Inside the card I finished the sentiment with the words "Brings May Flowers".
And that folks is my Twofers for April. I hope you liked them. No showers today and lots of sun. That is always good.
I am also entering these in the Double D Challenge as they fit their theme too which is Showers and Flowers.
Take care and God bless,
Verna

What sweet little owls! And cool you were able to salvage the inks from your markers! Love the skies you made, too. These will brighten up someone's day!! Big hugs to you!
Such pretty cards Verna, and I am glad you have found a way to colour that 'fits' you. A great idea to re-moisten your markers
Stay safe

Great use of this adorable image Verna for Darnell's twofer challenge. Great way to use up those dried markers too. Pretty cards, both of them x
Fun twofer cards, and I just love those cute umbrellas!
This is an adorable digital stamp and you have already gotten great mileage out of them. These are so sweet and glad that you got more used of your dried up markers. Thanks for joining in the fun at Double D Challenge.

Both of these are so cute! Great job.
Wow, you sure got some great color by using those dry markers. That is a good tip to have. The card is bright and I like the black and white around it. The soft sky on the card done in pencils shows it is clearing up since the sun came out.
Love your twofer cards! Great designs and cute digi! Stay safe!
These are great! I really like how you really changed the coloring up between the two cards. One is so bold and the other soft. Good job!
Well, you know I love this adorable image and your coloring looks great on both, but I have to say I'm especially impressed with the second one. What a great idea to rejuvenate your markers. It has a really pretty watercolor look to it. Well done, Verna!
Your rainy Twofers must have brought out the sunshine, Verna! I hope it last for a while for you! Your Twofers are sure cute and your coloring and blending are great! Thank you for the practical tip on rejuvenating your dry markers! And thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #26! Take care and stay safe! Hugs, Darnell

Cute twofer cards
Cute cards!
Such a sweet little scene, Verna ... that brolly-toting little owl is adorable ... and your colouring on both is fabulous! What a great idea to add water to your markers to extend their life ... sure looks as though it worked a treat! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Hgs, Anita :)
