Silhouette Sympathy Card

I decided to add another sympathy card to my supply as in the last month I used quite a few up so I figured it was time to replenish. I hope the need for one will not be for a long time though.

I used a digital set from Beccy's Place called Fallow Fields. It has the most wonderful solid images and wonderful sentiments too. I knew I would get lots of use from it and for this card I combined those silhouette images with a sponged background that I had taken a photo of and used that for the background behind the images and sentiment.

I added the flowers and then manipulated the butterflies in various ways to show them fluttering around in the sky. I layered this design onto black card stock and then added it to some ribbed light pink for the card base which matched the colors in the background quite closely. I also printed out n inside sentiment on white and added that to the interior of the card.

The past couple of days I have been working on some packets to send my three youngest grandchildren for Easter as it seems we will most likely not be getting together for the holiday. So I printed several coloring pages and also added some images so that if they so desire they can make a few cards of their own. I also added some colored sheets of card stock. When we finally do get together again I will give them some Easter candy too. But this might be something they can do while cooped up in their homes.

We are still doing well here. And, I hope the same can be said for you too. Hang in there! We are in this together and I am hoping that warmer weather will snuff the virus out. Until next time take care.

God bless,
Verna

Love how you make one background 'do' numerous cards by scanning and printing then as required!
Loving the finished card Verna - and hopefully you won't need it - I have run out now, so had better make some more sympathy cards. Much easier to have them on hand when needed.
Stay safe

Beautiful card Verna and beautiful layering of the colors. I should be like you and make some ahead too! We are doing well so far as luckily like you we are rural and are well isolated. Greg is changing oil and polishing all the tractors and doing some repairs on the barn...always a lot of upkeep in the country. Take care and stay safe!!

It is good to have beautiful cards ready for any occasion. I love the serene look and feel of the sympathy card.
That is a good idea for the grandkids this Easter. I think that you may have inspired me.

What a lovely card. Sympathy cards are so hard to make, but it's always good to have some one hand. Sorry you can't be with your family for Easter, but I'm sure the kids will enjoy their coloring pages and making cards of their own - they've got a good teacher.

This is gorgeous. I hope you don't need to use it for a long time.

Like you, my family will not be getting together for Easter at my parents' house as we usually do. So sad... Great idea to send your grandchildren coloring pages and card making supplies!

I really like this card, Verna. I am such a fan of the silhouette look, and you have done it beautifully here. The tan card base is perfect with the blues on the background panel. Stunning card.

Don't think we can count on weather. Just wish all our leaders & people would do what scientists know is needed, but that isn't going to happen. Beautiful sympathy card--just the style I love!
