Today I am sharing a card I made quite quickly this afternoon using the Gina Marie Designs Cut In Cut Out Christmas Tree die. I purchased this die from #KatScrappiness. On the last post I used it to make a shaker card but this time I decided to make a shiny background for it. I think I have a winner here too! That is such a pretty die that it would be hard to mess it up!
I die cut the tree design from Gina K. Designs Ivory card stock. I then added the embossed foiled design behind that die. Just by looking at it can you guess what my embossed foil is? Anyway, I cut the Ivory panel smaller so that there was a strip of the Gina K. Designs Red Velvet card base showing along the edges. I also added a strip of the plain foiled piece on the top to look like a ribbon strip. The next step was to add the sentiment from Stampin' Up! And, the card was completed on the outside by adding some red and yellow rhinestones to the design!
Perhaps by now you have guessed what the faux embossed foiled panel is from. Some time ago I got some items I had ordered in the most beautiful gold bubble wrap envelope. I just could not bare to toss it so I kept it and when I saw this die I knew I had to try making a card with it. To make the bubble wrap a bit flatter on the opposite side of the bubble wrap I poked holes in each bubble with my Tim Holtz pick and then rubbed over it to get the air out so it was a bit flatter. Once this bubble wrap was placed behind the die I then took some raised double stick foam strips to make the panel as high as the bubble wrapped area. I then placed it onto the card base. I also added a piece of the Ivory card stock inside for my sentiment and message I will be writing.
Here is a closeup of my faux embossed foiled design.
Now I think it is right pretty. The more flatter strip was cut from the outer edges of the bubble wrap bag. Too bad there is a mailing label on one side as it does limit the amount of wrap available for using. But I think it is a great way of recycling.
Well, thanks for joining me today and for your lovely comments you always leave. I hope your week is going well.
God bless,

June Rudolph Days Challenge
I have been working on Christmas cards and this is the one I am submitting for the June Rudolph Days Challenge. I made a shaker card with a beautiful die from Gina Marie Designs bought at Kat's Scrappiness.
I used some Crafter's Companion card stock which had a shimmery blue finish to it for the card base. I then die cut the Cut in Cut Out Christmas Tree design on a piece of white card stock. After adding some acetate under the cut out area on that panel I then added some double sided thick tape to create a raised panel. But before I added this design to the card base I placed a pile of some Kat Scrappiness Frosty II Sequin Mix where the open area would be. The focal panel was die cut with a Memory Box Cross Stitched Border die. Then very carefully I aligned the panel up and added it to the shimmery blue card stock base. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up! The last thing I did was to add some sequins on the top of the card and some gems to the tree and stars.
I am so happy with the way this turned out. I think that is such a gorgeous die and I am glad I finally am using up some of that older card stock too.
Thanks for visiting and for the lovely comments you leave.

Coffee for Two
This time around at the Mod Squad Challenge the theme is Coffee, Tea and Summer. I used the Stamplorations Pocket Blooms and Framed Coffee for Two stamp sets to create this card design. I think this will be a great card for an anniversary or even a wedding.
I stamped repeatedly the daisies around my card panel with Gina K. Designs Amalgam Jet Black ink. Then I took Copics and colored in the frame I created. I fussy cut that frame out and placed it on a white card base. Next I stamped the coffee cups design also in Amalgam Jet Black ink and colored that with Copics. I cut that out as well leaving a border of white around it and then layered it onto a piece of black card stock. This was then added over the daisy frame I made to finish the card design.
I have been wanting to make a frame with those daisies ever since I purchased the stamp set and finally I have done it. And, I am very happy with the results too.
Thanks for the visit and I think this will be the final card for this week. I hope your weekend is a great one.

Card and Solution for Blogger Comments
Hi Everyone,
I am sharing a card I made with a design from Blue Knight Rubber Stamps. I confess that I liked the way the stamp was used on the packaging of the stamp that I did a CASE of it.

2. Click on Settings.
3. Click on Email.
4. Delete email address and click "Save Settings" in upper right corner.
5. Re-enter email address and click "Save Settings" again.
6. You should now get an email from Blogger confirming that you want to subscribe. Click the underlined word "Subscribe".
Hopefully, this will work now. I did the process above and did get the email from Blogger. So we shall see what happens now. Just in case I will thank you for visiting and also for the wonderful comments you always leave me. Have a great Thursday.
Update: I am getting emails now showing the comments so it did indeed work. Hurray!

I sponged on the background colors first and then with the use of my MISTI I stamped the silhouette image several times to get a good impression. With the set there is a little leafy stamp with which I added some more leaves to make it shaped the way I wanted it. I added a sentiment from Stampin' Up! to complete the main panel which I die cut with a Memory Box Cross Stitched Border Die. This was all placed on a white card base. I think it is such a peaceful looking scene.

Butterflies Collage
The challenge at the Double D's Blog Challenge is to use butterflies in our design. So that was a good excuse for me to make use of the Memory Box Reverse Butterfly Collage and some background paper I had previously made using alcohol inks.
The sentiments and card stock are all from Gina K. Designs except for the alcohol ink background. I had an assortment of different shaped gems that I had in my stash for years and so I decided to add them to the butterflies for their bodies.
To finish the card I added a piece of white card stock inside to which I could stamp another sentiment or write a note. I am so happy with the way this all came together too.
The inspiration photo has so many wonderful options and ideas but I chose to use the purple and blue butterflies this time. Who knows! I love butterflies and might just have to work another one in for the challenge too.
Thanks so much for stopping by and for all the lovely comments.

Fourth of July-Summer Fun!
I think one of the most fun summer holidays is the Fourth of July. We not only celebrate our country's birthday but we also gather together with family and friends for picnics, parades and watching the fireworks at dusk. At least that was what our family usually do each Fourth. So on that note I made a Fourth of July card which I am entering in the Dies R Us Challenge #99-Summertime Fun.
I used Gina K. Designs Diagonal Striped Background border and by turning the card stock the opposite direction was able to make a plaid design. And the stamps used on the card are from A Jillian Vance Design Cross Stitched Freedom set. I used Gina K. Designs rectangle and square double stitch and single stitch dies. And, the stars were die cut from Lawn Fawn Puffy Star Stackables. All were added to a white card base.
Well, we went to extreme nearly 100 degree heat to the 70's. Quite a change and I must say that I do prefer the cooler weather. But then again here in South Dakota the weather is lots of times changing drastically from one day to another. Hard to believe summer will begin this week. Time is sure flying by again. Thanks for stopping in and until next time have a great week.

Gone Fishing!
As soon as I saw the saying included with the die set I used from Cheapo Designs called Gone Fishing Truck that old melody my Mom used to sing to me was recalled. "Gone fishing in an inky dinky pool. Gone fishing! Wish I could be that kind of fool". I think that is about all I recall of the song but it was a real reminder and brought back some fun memories. So with that die in mind I made a masculine card but it would have worked for my Mom as well as she was an avid fisher woman.
I cut the die out with white card stock and then with my Copics did some coloring. I based this card on the color of my hubby's pick up so that is why it is a white one. And, he is a Ford man. However, I love my Chevy Equinox which I drive so I guess you can say we are a divided house in that respect. LOL I also used Gina K. Designs card stock on which I sponged the road, grass and sky. The panels were die cut with a Memory Box Cross Stitched Border die set. The sponging inks were from Gina K. Designs.
I am entering this card into the Dies R Us Challenge #99-Summertime Fun.
Thanks for the visit and I hope all the dads out there have a wonderful Father's Day!
