Well, this has been a very trying afternoon trying to make a shaker card. I think now I recall why I only did one other one before. From the "get go" I had one thing after another interfere with my design. First I had part of the raised tape portion showing so I had to fix that. Then I almost forgot to add the heart sequins to the shaker and of course, my acetate was filled with finger prints. And at the last minute I decided to add some black dots to the outer parts of the card and in doing so did not realize that I was in fact getting black smudges on the frame too. So using an old trick from years ago, if you get some smudges, then add more and declare it part of the design. So that's my story and I am sticking to it.
And then I had the problem getting a good photograph. Acetate is a fickle creature it seems when you want to take it's photo. One shot even had my hands holding the camera reflection in it, so that got scrapped. I finally settled on a few from a great many as possibly suitable.
As you can see in the above photo there is some faux stitching in the frame. So in one of the challenges it called for stitching so I hope this will suffice.
Well, I just wanted to try out some of the new goodies I got from Simon Says Stamps. And, this birthday frame is one of the items I purchased. I also in an earlier purchase got the stamp set from Simon Says Stamps as well.
Simon Says Stamps Products:

I used Gina K. Designs dye inks and black Memento ink on the card. I also used some heart sequins that I had gotten as an incentive from Gina K. Designs for my shaker elements.
Other supplies used:
Scor Tape
Scor Board
Black Ribbon with White Sheer Dots
This card will be entered in the following challenges:
Mod Squad Blog Challenge-Sew Easy
Crop Stop Linky Party #19-Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamps Monday Challenge-Contain Yourself (Created a Shaker Container for Sequins)
Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge-Let's Go Wild (wildflowers)
Well, that about sums up what I will be doing this week as far as crafting goes. Now I will concentrate on last minute things to do before my surgery Monday. So if I am quiet for a week or so you will know I am recuperating.
Thanks for looking and putting up with my "boo boo" card making. Have a great rest of the week and weekend. I love all your sweet comments.
God bless,
Verna
